It would be extremely nice if GBPVR supports has the same option as MythTV has. When setting up channels in config it has a checkbox if this channel needs comskip or not. Forexample here in Estonia (and in Finland) we have national channels which don't have any commercials running, so it will be completely unnecessary to run comskip on certain channels, although postprocessing.bat should be run.

The subject says it all.
I could not find an easy way to play an audio CD with GBPVR. My Music can rip the cd first, but I don't want that.

Any-one has an idea? Of course this will be something that cannot be used on the mvp, but that is not a huge issue, as the cd-tray is not in the mvp either, is it?

Changing Skin From remote. This be a cool feature..Using different skin at the push of a button, without going to pc..

A weird one this - I've been having problems recording the program "Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps" (currently on UKTV at midnight for those in NZ).

Although I schedule the recording (with no conflicts) and an initial directory is created, the actual program does not record.

Could it be due to the fact that the name of the show in the recording guide is "Two Pints of Lager And ..." and the ellipses confuse GBPVR somehow?

I just did a clean reinstall to try and get the diskspace plugins to work (still don't), so don't have any useful logs at the moment, but will try recording it again tonight and see what happens.

i have been at this for a whole week:

i bought an MCE remote from http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_info.ph...cts_id/167 and have been trying to set it up. there are no drivers for it, as it is supposed to be an MCE remote. it is USB. when i plug it in, i can send signals to the receiver from the remote, which triggers a red light on the receiver. however, i have NEVER been able to control ANYTHING with this remote on win2kpro. nothing has ever been opened/closed/altered on my screen from pressing a remote key. obviously, i cant get it to work with GB-PVR. does anyone have any ideas?

if not, does anyone have any suggestions on which remote to buy for my system that will work with GB-PVR? is my remote bunk and should i buy a microsoft MCE remote? does anyone have a streamzap remote? snapstream? anyone have some prefabbed girder commands for a generic remote i can get? help please!


btw i am running win2kpro on an abit kt7a mobo with a PVR-150 as my video input.

I will be receiving the new hauppauge remote for the WinTV-PVR-250 tomorrow (I hope). What do I need to do to install it so that it will operate with the GBPVR?

I am hoping that this new remote will allow me to control playback functions which go to my TV via my Xcard.

before you say it's impossible usinging hardware cards such as sigma... I say not at all very easy...

it plays the video of a movie and the audio is inserted from the mp3
now to get a relatively uninterrupted signal. it fairly easy i broadcast the audio local machine local port.
basically broadcast both streams the audio and video

one graph broadcast the audio at a local port address
the second broadcast the video at port address

the third graph renders both media through the sigma filters..
as the video drops out the audio keeps playing uninterrupted. then as the video comes back it continues to play..


well just a thought if you wanted to add a nice feature to your program...

since you do not need audio sync you can use the upd dshow from moonlight found on the same page as lame encoder..

Ever since I installed the newest build, my EPG will be fine for a week and then it stops working. My channels will be listed in the capture source window, but in the app under TV Guide, it's empty. I update the epg and it works for a while. There is no real consistency to the problem. I scanned the forum, but found nothing on this. Ideas??

I bought an ahanix Imon and I can't get anything to work as far as changing channels and whatnot. I could really use some help as far as how I could get this to work. Any help is more than welcome.

I run a fanless HTPC of a 70 Watt power supply (it might be 90 I will have to check). I am really pleased with it. It also runs a P2P program in the background.

However it is starting to struggle with live TV playback with dropping of the old frame. It plays DIVX/XVID flawlessly.

I currently have an Radeon 7000 as my graphics card which I very much want to replace. What I am hoping is that someone could recommend another graphics card that meets the following criteria.

1.Fanless
2.Have a similar power consumption
3.Gives me as much hardware decoding as possible so to reduce the load on my CPU
4.Give a better quality image on my SDTV (PAL – I live in the UK)

I don't want to go down the xcard/PVR350 route as all my DVD's are backed up in OGM format. I have read reviews on the Volari V3XT and was very impressed but I have yet to see one for sale. So I was thinking of a FX5200.

Please could I ask people who have been in a similar position for their opinions on what to buy.
