MVP after Contacting Server - Can't Play File
Posted by: jrockintuitive - 2004-12-27, 10:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sometimes when I use GBPVR on the MVP the MVP says contacting server (in the log it says something about the host kicked the connection)... not so bad the server is doing something. This only happens after I choose to do something (open the guide, delete a show, etc)

Soon after the MVP says contacting server, the screen comes back to the correct location.

I can use GBPVR pefectly with the exception of playing a file.

I have to shut off GBPVR/MVP and open it again. If I do not recieve the contacting server screen again I can play a file.

Vision Plus - Vision DTV - Ter - PCI.

Just wondered if anyone has any idea if this card will ever be supported within the GB-PVR. TBH, this card if CRYING out for a decent PVR functionality !!

and since its cheap as chips (buy from here ....... http://www.pcnextday.co.uk/product....pgroup=
there is likely to be a large quanity of UK buyers waiting to support such a product which improves the cards exceptional quality.

Card manufacturers website is.......... http://www.visionplus.com.tw
its basically a TWINHAN card as reviewed here...... http://www.hexus.net/content....D05NTM=

Its current PVR interface and complete software package is annoying and frustrating !! HELP [Image: smile.gif]

  Re-occuring Manual Recording creates conflicts.
Posted by: raghu13 - 2004-12-27, 06:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have no EPG. All recordings are done through manual recording.

Here is the problem I am facing.

I add two recordings to happen Monday through Friday. They are at different time intervals. It schedules everything correctly. No conflicts.

Later, I add a third program (at a different time) to be recorded Monday through Friday.

Now all the schedules for the previous two programs appear as conflict. I have to manually delete them one by one.

Now if I add a fourth program, the schedules for the previous three appear as conflicts.

The problem does not happen if I add a ONCE ONLY recording.

It appears to me that whenever I add a new reoccuring manual recording, it schedules the old ones again even though they were already scheduled, thereby creating these conflicts.

Is this a bug or I am doing something wrong?
I am using version .2313

Thanks in advance for any help.

Raghu.

mpeg1 video only on the top half of TV screen
Posted by: raghu13 - 2004-12-27, 05:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

I have mpeg1 video files from VCDs.

When these files are played on MediaMVP using GBPVR, the video appears only on the top half of the screen.

These files appear OK when played on the PC running GBPVR.

Any help for fixing this?

Thanks,
Raghu.

  Problem with Shutdown-Plugin
Posted by: Knaub - 2004-12-27, 03:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

the shutdown plugin works while I am remotely accessed to my htpc via realvnc. I select "shut down" and press the "return" button on my keyboard and the htpc shuts down.
Doing the same via the IR-remote and selecting "shut down" on the tv screen it only exits gbpvr but the htpc is still up.

Has anybody experienced this behaviour and found a solution?

Thx, Joerg

  My Music
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-27, 02:36 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (68)

ive uploaded a new version to the wiki, it fixes a lot of bugs if you arent using mp3s.  it now allows you to add a directory of nonmp3 files to a playlist (oops on my part here, it will test each file in the directory to see if it matches the extensions given in the config app).  also if you arent using mp3s it will now show the filename when playing a music file instead of nothing.

build #1.0.1823.5980

found in same place.  i made another thread since the ALPHA ALPHA and big arse warning might have scared a few people off.

TODO:
- the ability to burn a playlist to Audio CD (hopefully not to far away, just have to hear back from someone).
- Get tag information for .wma/.ape files (just have to find some free dlls).
- loop a playlist (waiting on sub, i think i have a way to do this without sub, but it would be messy, well require more ram, not the ideal solution).
- add a menu bar so touchscreen users/mouse can click a play/next/previous/mute/stop/addtoplaylist button, also have to wait for sub on this (missing a few methods in gbpvr dlls Tongue).

everything else is pretty much the same, this release should be stable and meet most peoples needs.  if you wish to see a feature, or have any problems just say so.

enjoy.

if you find a bug, tell me (also try looking up the gbpvr.exe.log for the bug information, so i know what to fix. simply saying "it crashes" doesnt help a lot Tongue).
