  Problems with Program Guide
Posted by: aspwebwiz - 2004-12-16, 06:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have 2 problems :

(1) I am using the PVR-350 Card's TV Out and cannot record any shows since the TV Program guide has suddenly stopped working - I only get the channel logos - no guide. Of couse, first thing to check was to make sure that the EPG Update was working and I had the right username/pwd for the Zap2It service. I checked and both are correct - by logging in directly to the site. Internet connection is fine too. This was working fine before. I have the latest Hauppauge drivers - and I have tried reinstalling everything. I am using GBPVR v .227 ( I had other problems with the latest version so I unistalled it and reinstalled 227 )
Please note - I can play back all previously recorded shows and the OSD menu works fine too.

(2) Anytime there is a problem with GBPVR - I get the error message "Unable to run this command " and have to reboot the system to get GBPVR to work again. Restarting the service does not help. Also in this case strangely the GBPVR icon also changes from the normal GBPVR symbol to an icon for a file that Windows does not recognize.

Any ideas ? thanks in advance.

Posted by: Loki047 - 2004-12-16, 05:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hey guys need some advice/help. I have GB-PVR set up with nap2it and all the proper settins (i think) the problem is when i try to watch live tv or record anything i get an Error: Failure PLaying back file. I know the tuner works because it works with the defualt software that came with it, but that software is horrendous and i would really like to get GB-PVR to work with it.

  Best External Tuner?
Posted by: Loki047 - 2004-12-16, 05:52 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

Right now i currently have the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2, but the software that came with it is horrible, and the GB-PVR is exactly what i want to run my tuner. Its for a laptop so it has to be external (preferably usb) whats the best tuner quality and compatibility with GB-PVR?

  Service Priority
Posted by: jrockintuitive - 2004-12-16, 02:52 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

Sub,

Here is an easy one for your yellow paper on your desk, I hope?

Can we get an option to set the base priority of the recording service and the GBPVR.exe. I was thinking of a drop down list or an option button with the options of high and normal.

My GBPVR box is an old machine that is running a handfull of other services. When the other services are active GBPVR is sluggish and the MVP is sketchy at best.

I attempted to change the priority manually to see if it made a difference... I recieved an "Access is denied" error.

  Girder Channel Changer using USB-UIRT
Posted by: grahamleggat - 2004-12-16, 01:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Everyone

Could someone please help me on how to set up girder to use the USB-UIRT to change the channels on my freeview box.

I have loaded the girder plugin into girder and set GB-PVR config to use the girder plugin as the channel changer.

I have tried to work out how to get girder to to learn the codes from my freeview box remote control but I am lost and not usre what to do.

Is there a guide or can someone help.

Thanks in advance

Graham

  Possible IR problem
Posted by: cdreardon - 2004-12-15, 10:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all
I am running a PVR 350 with a usbuirt controlling the STB and its working perfectly (Great job Sub), however I want to add a PVR250 to the mix so that I may watch TV whilst recording. The problem I am foreseeing is that both cards use the same remote, is there a way to make the Hauppauge silver remote work on one card at a time?

[Q] Channels in more than one video source
Posted by: krypton_john - 2004-12-15, 08:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

I have two recording sources - the free to air broadcast channels picked up by a tv tuner, and a satellite settop box that receives NZ SkyTV wich is picked up via s-video. The SkyTV also carries all the free to air channels that are recieved by the tuner source.

When I view the EPG, I see all the channels from one source followed by all the channels from the other. Therefore, TV1 for example, appears twice in the EPG.

What would be nice would be if the fact that it is the same channel could be recognised and dealt with cleverly. I.e. TV1 would only appear once, and if selected to record/view, the first available videosource that carries the channel would be used.

Otherwise it is a bit confusing for the wife (ok, for me!Wink to select tv1 and find that no recording source is available as I selected from the part of the EPG that is associated with a recording source that is recording something else. I have to go find TV1 at the far end of the EPG to watch it.

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
JohnO

  Geting Plugins configured
Posted by: starbridge - 2004-12-15, 08:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

HI All..

I just got GB-pvr installed and working with the MVP (looks great with the High Vis skin!Wink. Now I am trying to get some of the other plugins installed and working right.

The problem I am having is with the "My Pictures" and "RSS" plugins. The instruction seem to be a bit thin on were stuff needs to be copyed to. I sort of figured out that the plugin DLL needs to go into the "Plugin" folder, but were does the "skin" folder need to be copyed to?

any advice on how to set these up?

Thanks
Darrell
