My HTPC running GBPVR is in my basement. I using a Hauppauge PVR250 card which is connected to cable TV. I would like to watch live TV on my computer in my den. I tried to demo Beyond TV but a demo version of Beyond TV link won't work with a demo version of base product. SageTV looks to have the same limitation.

I tried recording something in GBPVR and playing back the file while's it's being recorded from my den computer using Real Player or Windows Media Player. Neither worked saying the file was in use.

Now I'm wondering if I install GBPVR in my den, can I point it to the files on my HTPC and play them? Should be fairly quick to test, but I thought maybe someone might know or have some know working alternatives.

great soft! Running a Xcard and find this soft very usefull.

I have a couple of mpeg-files recorded on my hard disc. Some are in german and english, so mpegs with two audio streams.

How can I switch between them (the audio streams)? The hotkey from the sigma player is CTRL+a, but it does not work here.

Does the remote control from Sigma work with the GB-PVR?

Perhaps this is already asked by someone else, but I do not see a search funktion in the board, or am I blind?

I've configured GBPVR like this:

Frist capture Source:
Direkt Recording, WinTV Pvr 250, Internal Tuner on cable, Device 1

Second capture Source: (for pay-tv)
Direkt Recording, WinTV Pvr 250, Composite Externel Tuner, Device 1

Now GBPVR does'nt detect when I'm watching live-tv and a recording-job starts:
The Tray-Icon says, both devices are in use. In the live-tv-windows I hear the external sound and see the right live-tv-program.
GBPVR should ask something like:
In one minute a recording-job starts: Exit-Live-Tv and record, or don't record.

Is this possible ?

i've got a problem concerning gbpvr and Tv Walker mini. I'm unable to get LiveTv to work. The Walker's native PVR (which sucks btw.) shows LiveTV without problems, but gbPVR only creates several empty *.mpg files in my HD-root directory. The *.log files also do not show an error, after starting livetv it waits some seconds(there is a parameter i can't remember that i turned higher to wait several seconds for live-tv) and then it closes livetv again. without any error. the log only says something like 'request to close livetv' .

My System: Acer TM4001, USB2, WinXPHome, 512MB RAM, installed winDVR 3 (just the demo that does not support my card)

Any suggestions?

VERY VERY IMPORTANT: If you want to use this plugin for anything but LiveTV in Preview Mode, i.e. LiveTV in timeshift mode, or recording programs, then you will have to install an mpeg encoder library. Check below for the list of encoders that have been known to work. It seems that the default MPEG2 decoders provided by windows have troubles decoding some video streams, therefore it is recommended that you use the video decoder that comes with the encoder to watch your recordings. Please try the ATI Avivo encoder first.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: If you can't get your card to work, please make sure that you take all the logs generated during your testing, zip them together and attach them to the message you post in this thread. In the logs hide all the secret answers to your problems, I can't guess what's wrong if I don't have logs.

MPEG-2 Compressors/Encoders: What this plugin really needs is a free mpeg2 compressor library that can be used to replace the Moonlight one. Unfortunately to make an encoder work with gb-pvr it needs to exist as a module that can be inserted into a DirectShow graph. GraphEdit is a program that can be used to create your own graphs and link up components. As a rule of thumb, IF-AND-ONLY-IF the encoder can be used in GraphEdit (and it takes video and audio of some form, and it also has to output the mpeg stream for further use - and not write it directly to a file), then it can be used in gb-pvr. Encoders/compressors that do not match this description (and hence can not be used by this plugin) include: FFMPEG, FreeEnc, XMPEG, QuEnc, hcenc.

I'm only a GB-PVR user for one week, but I already love it I'm using a EPIA MII10000 and XP SP1a. Yesterday I did a recording of a TV show. When it was finished I wanted to see it. I noticed two problems with this:

1. Missing sound when forwarding (has already been reported)
2. Audio/Video sync problems...

The strange thing is when I use WinDVD as player the whole playback is not a problem. Does anyone have tips on how I can improve playback within GB-PVR

BTW How do I know that whether the EPAI CLE266 MPEG decoder is used

My other issue is Dvix playback, again playback with the 'original' Divx player is not a problem. But when I tried it from GB-PVR I only get black and white video ?!?!?!?

Anyway, I hope someone has some pointers for me.

I was thinking wouldn't it be a great idea to give sub a nice Christmas present. I checked that we have some 2000 forum members. Let's say that one quarter is (still) active. If those 500 members (even those that already donated sometime during the last year, all donate let's say five dollars, adding up to $2500 that would cheer up sub  , I think. And five dollars is not a large amount considering the type of tv-cards that we all have in our systems

So who's with me?

I've just downloaded the latest version GBPVR02313 and I keep I am getting loads of error reports during installation to hard drive. e.g. 'Internal Error 2908' - and then it shows a long address from the registry file.

I've uninstalled the program, cleaned out the registry, and even downloaded the version again. I'm also using the current MS NET Framework 1.1

The program does eventually install itself, but hangs up while setting up parameters in the config screen (as expected!

Does anyone have any clues on how to fix this ?
