Hi all - a quick question...I have a brand spanking new high-spec small form PC. I'm about to buy the Hauppauge 350 card to shove in. What I want to do, and I can't find the definitive answer if this is possible in these forums, is have the TV stuff output to the TV (with GB-pvr) from s-video to scart, and have windows show on a monitor....so I can watch/record TV, whilst using windows on the PC at the same time. Could someone confirm this is all going to work ok?? many thanks. Charlie.

  Tuning Problem
Posted by: bluesxman - 2004-12-15, 09:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have the RF output from my Sky Digital box going into my PC. The Sky box passes through the terrestrial cable signals that enable me to receive BBC ITV etc.

My question.... how do I set up GB-PVR so that BBC1, BBC2 etc are on their own channels and all the digital channels correspond to the one frequency that my digibox is using?

The rationale behind this is that this way (in theory) I can record programs on terrestrial stations whilst viewing other channels on satelite.

Hope this makes sense, I'm sure I'll be told if not!

Thanks in advance for any help!

  350 and 150 errors
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-15, 06:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

sub ive emailed you logs from a gbpvr crash i keep having with a 150 and 350.  every time i enter live tv, it crashes either with the 350 as device #1 and 150 as device #2 or vice versa.  using latest version of gbpvr.  and using the 350s tv out.

i tried removing the 150 from the capture devices, and live tv just wouldnt work. so then i tried using the tuning assitant, first tried the 150 found every channel, then tried the 350, and it was just using the 150 not actually using the 350 (i pulled out the antenna plug to test).

so hmm, lets see what i try next, anyone got any ideas?

oh yeah and im using the latest drivers from shspvr.com

  PVR500 drivers

Sub, my PVR500 arrived today, and I'll be installing it tonight. Do I need to get any special drivers or do I use what comes on the CD? Any other tips for setting up this card?

I have ordered a bunch of the 10 pin connectors for the extra video/audio in ports so will be making up some adaptor cable sets shortly!

Cheers,
JohnO

  Using GBPVR without a Tuner?
Posted by: Picker - 2004-12-15, 01:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi.

I want to build a HTPC that acts as a PVR. Currently, I have a video card (GeForce4 4200 VIVO) that has S-Video In capabilities, but no tuner.

I am using an external Satellite STB to do the tuning. Therefore, I shouldn't need a tuner card. I should be able to simply pipe in the output of my STB into the Video In of my card. (I have a 3.4G P4, so MPEG compression should not be a problem...)

I'll be using a USB-IR transeiver along with Grider to control the STB.

Can I use GBPVR to do the PVR recording for a setup like this? How would I configure it to use record from the Video In port of a non-tuner video card?

Thanks!

  Config App Error
Posted by: cameluk - 2004-12-15, 01:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

After installing .23.13 over the top of .23.11, when I exit Config, I get the following error

Also noticed that everytime the EPG updates, I get the same error

'An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue
Process performance counter is disabled, so the requested operation can not be performed'

If I click on Continue I end up back in Config, which gives me the same error, the option that lets me out is quit

ok ive written the third in the "My" series. (yeah i called it a series Tongue).  anyway this is an alpha release, so much so, i will take it offline once 10 people have downloaded it, if you want it after then, you'll have to pm me.

im trying to get the interface right, and i dont want people just downloading it willy nilly.  only people that use mp3s etc hardcore please download this.  the interface needs a lot of work (wasnt an easy port like my pictures). that said, no skinners, no people that are just curious etc, please dont get this yet.  and if you're not comfortable with editing the config.xml file, dont get this (same editing as in "my pics"/"my vids" since i might add a few more features).

ok the warning/complaining/whatever is over with heres what it does
Rips CD audio to mp3 (with id3 tags) (aint it just cool!, well i think so)
Loads M3U, WPL (windows media playlists)/
Saves M3U playlists (no onscreen keyboard yet, so it saves the file from the system clock, xxxx number of milliseconds from 1973 (or whatever) .m3u so never will have the same name).
Shuffles (yes i said shuffles, whoohoo!Wink a playlist.
Plays mp3s (dah)
4 Different views (heres where i need help, people please give hardcore feedback).

Im going to add more features, just have to wait for the next release for sub to add a couple of methods to gbpvr.  So you can browse thru the playlist and choose a song to start from. also allowing to loop a playlist at the moment you cant, bugger.

oh yeah its an attachment so i know how many people have downloaded it Tongue

skinners its the same interface as my pics/my vids, so just skin those for now if you wish, nothing new in here.

You must download dbpowerAMP from http://www.dbpoweramp.com first (which rips the cd audio to mp3).

also pm me when you get this, if you want to see what im planning on doing with gbpvr (well want im trying to get it to do, you'll like it trust me [Image: smile.gif]).

oh for some reason i forgot to credit you in the readme.txt tell me and ill fix it.

enjoy

ah crap i cant delete an attachment. bugger

When using the number keys on the Hauppauge remote, they are added to the search string. Is there a way of using the letters on the same keys rather than having to navigate round the onscreen keyboard for each character?

I have tried disabling/enabling 'Treat number keys like mobile phone entry' and also Direct access to remote/IR in the Config app without any luck
