After Fresh Install on Windows 10, Channel List does not appear in windows app
Posted by: jmooremcc - 2019-05-26, 10:03 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 and then reinstalled nextPVR (4.2.4 (190307). I also restored the NPVR directory from my backup. Now when I run the NextPVR Windows app, everything appears to work except the channel list. I know the channel list exists because I can see it in settings. The way I normally bring up the channel list is by right clicking on the windows display and then selecting channels from the popup menu.

I've tried installing nextPVR twice and nothing has changed the situation.
I've zipped the log files for your review.

Thank you.

  Finding servers
Posted by: Patrick4287 - 2019-05-26, 01:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (25)

Each time I open the NextPVR it goes straight “looking for a server”.The only option I have is to enter an IP address. I enter the one assigned by my provider. Nothing happens leaving me with zero servers because there are no severs to chose from. . Also there are no devices listed. I have an IPTV account and my box is a Himedia Q10 Pro.

Any help in getting started would be appreciated

TT-connect® CT2-4650 support for CI in NextPVR?
Posted by: cazz - 2019-05-25, 03:44 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi
I have just got a new USB TV card that have CI and when I look inside this wiki
https://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php...etupDialog

I can see "TechnoTrend devices with built-in CI module" and I think it have support for CI but not sure

Why I ask if I have a little problem to find a good signal to the TV card.
When I use a basic DVB-T Box for TV I can see it is ok signal (Not great but ok) I can get all the channel and also the channel that is encrypted.
But when I use my new TV card with NextPVR I don't get all signal, just one MUX it found and when I trying to watch the channel from chrome browser I just get a black screen and nothing else (all the channel is encrypted).
So I'm not sure if it have with the antenna, TV card or NextPVR.

I going to see if I can get a better signal but not sure if that is possible.

Problems starting if channel is off air
Posted by: NickH - 2019-05-25, 09:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi,
I've had a startup issue for years and have finally got round to posting.
If I leave NextPVR on a channel which only broadcasts at certain times and power down the PC, when I next power the PC on, If the channel is off-air I have the devil's own job to get NextPVR to change channel to a working channel. The only way I have found to do it is to go into the EPG, select a working channel from there and the Watch.

If I directly type a channel number it goes into a not responding state. Selecting from the Channels menu does nothing and ends in a non-responding state. It only seems to fail from a cold boot.

If I power on and last had a working channel then select a non-working channel, I can select a working channel successfully.
If I power on and last had a working channel then select a non-working channel, then do a warm reboot, I can change channel.
I only get the problem from a cold boot.

In the UK, typical channels are BBC4 and Quest+1 which only start broadcasting at 7pm.

Below is my log having powered down watching Quest+1 (channel 76) then I try switching to Quest (channel 37) which is broadcasting;

NPVR Channels and Emby Live TV
Posted by: jd1940 - 2019-05-24, 09:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I tried to get an answer to this on the Emby forum but have had no luck. When I edit an m3u channel listing to remove unwanted channels in NPVR, is there a way I can move that listing to Emby Live TV? I get an xml file when exporting from NPVR but I don't know how to get that into Live TV. I switched to Beast iptv a short time ago and it has a ton of channels I have no interest in. Since Live TV has almost no editing ability I'm trying to accomplish what I want in NPVR.

  Strange playback from network drive
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2019-05-24, 06:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

So I set up a network server and connected to it from my htpc, tried some recordings and recording to a network share seems to work fine. But playback behaves strange, it plays fine for about a minute, then pauses for a while and when playback resumes it plays fast forward for a while, then normal a bit and pause agin.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Any ideas why? The connection is wired gigabit network and the actual drive ia a 2Tb raid array on a Linux Mint host.

iZombie starts and finishes but there is no data in the file

Using Win10Pro, 32gbRAM, H170 MB, I5 Skylake quad core, 4TB HD dedicated to recording ATSC recordings using Hauppauge 1609 quad card tuner. Have used this process and NextPVR past 2-3 years without issue until now. Set up iZombie recording same as everything else. Log file shows recording starting and finishing normally, but there is no data in the file.

Can anyone assist me in why ffmpeg would cause the cpu to run near 100%? I never encountered this before.
Thank you for you time.

  SD EPG and UK Channels
Posted by: steve232 - 2019-05-23, 02:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Has anyone figured out how to get UK EPG data from Schedules Direct?
Say I pick UK: 5Star as an example.
In NPVR channel details, I select Source: Schedules Direct, under lineup: I need to create a UK lineup at SD.
At SD, I select Add a New Lineup, which displays my US Zip Code.
I select Other:
What should I use to get UK: 5Star listings?

Thanks in advanced

  Archive question
Posted by: Bobins - 2019-05-22, 09:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I've hit the Archive function to move a few recordings I want to keep to a separate drive from the normal recording storage.

Obviously the programmes still appear in the recording Ready list but is there anything to indicate which recordings have been moved to Archive?

I ask because the NPVR programme seems to offer the Archive function even when a recording has already been moved to the archive. (which is confusing).

If there isn't a current indicator, could one be added for the future as I find it challenging to remember which recordings I've moved (without resorting to File Explorer to look)?
