I've activated SBE for my PVR 350 and for some time it works like a charme, but after some time i've the problem, that after pausing LiveTV i can't use the fast forward or backward function and my osd shows an negative time value.

I've tried different MPG2-Decoders, but without a positive effect. At the moment i'm using the hauppauge audio and video decoder.

I'm a VB programmer but I've never used XML. I'd like to try my hand but as yet I don't really understand what XML is.

I thought the best way would be to download one of the plugin skins and use and XML editor to play and find out whats what.

Problem is I seem to need a style sheet.

What is this used for and where can I get and example.

When I created screen shots of the configure tool, I have resized them to 80% and saved them with "30-Medium" quality in Photoshop. This gave reasonable file sizes and, I think, looked decent on the site.

I just installed my Hauppage PVR-250MCE and GBPVR. When i run the TV tuner app, it tells me it finds the channels but i do not see any video feed. Also, when i run GBPVR and try to watch live TV the programs freezes for a while, doesn't do anything, then a few seconds later i can move around the menu like nothing happened.....

I live in Australia and the PVR-250 retail versions are quite expensive. so i bought the MCE version which was half the price. Only downside is that it doesn't come with much software. But it did come with a little demo program. At first that program didn't work either, but then i realised i didn't have a decoder installed. After i installed the NVIDIA codec that came with my new graphics cards, the demo program worked fine but still no joy with GBPVR.

what can i do? do i need a different codec? are there any free ones i can try?

Using a PVR-TV-150 and a MedaiMVP when will I be able to fast forward live tv? I've seen some comments that sub is working on it but no mention of when that might actually come about.

I need a reality check for an idea of mine:

When I started using my PVR350 with the great piece of work GB-PVR is I hooked up the PVR350 card to the TV in the room next door So I could either watch TV myself or work on the PC while someone else watches liveTV or one of the video recordings in parallel. What I love about this is that the GB-PVR in cooperation with the Hardware encoding causes almost no cpu-load so working in parallel to recording or watching TV is a blast.

Firing up the net-radio, FM Radio or Music Library Plugins got me a bit disappointed because the sound was not available on the TV (as this is the device I am interacting with) but only on the PC speaker in front of my computer screen which is connected to the standard sound card/onboard sound output.

There seem to be two schools of thought from my current discussion within the board.
1) The one suggests to use a loopback cable piping the PVR's output to the Line-In of your soundcard and connecting the (mixed) sound output of the PC to the TV.
2) The other (me, myself and I) wants to keep the soundcard/onboard sound out of the loop and instead pipe the audio as an MPEG stream to the TV using the PVR350 hardware MPEG decoding support. In general this allows the same destination to playback the audio and potentially mix it with more or less related video footage (e.g. sound visualisations or image galeries). This would allow to have two independent sound outputs on the PC als there are in case of a PVR350 at least two different image/video outputs making the PC actually multi-user enabled.

So what's your take on this?
Please mark your choice and in case that's not enough lemme know in detail what you think by adding a reply. Any ideas on what to display while the sound is playing.

Currently I'm using the family PC with a WinTV-PVR-150 and a MediaMVP. I have a spare computer that I'm wondering if it will work well enough. Here's the specs.

Pentium II 450
New Large Hard Drive
1gb of SDRAM

The only thing I'm worried about is the processor. Will I be okay or is that going to kill me?
