  Avermedia AverTV Studio
Posted by: ocellnuri - 2004-11-10, 06:40 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I have been playign with GB-PVR and it looks great. I know my card, the Avermedia AverTV Studio isn't listed as supported hardware, but I was wondering if anyone knew how I might be able to get it to work with GB-PVR with existing drivers. I have been having a hard time finding any PVR software that will work with this card, and I'm starting to lose hope. Any response is greatly appreciated.

  LifeView Walker Ultra
Posted by: KingArgyle - 2004-11-10, 06:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

When I try to go to Live TV or move from the episode guide to Watch a program, GBPVR is telling me that it can't communicate to the capture device and that the drivers might not be activated. However, if I go to the software that came with the Walker Ultra I can view TV fine.

I'm using drivers version 1.6 for the Walker.

Sub, I heard that you were possibly getting a LifeView Walker to develop against? If you need a beta tester for that device, let me know, I'd be willing to test a pre-release for you.

  Quck Question about PVR150 drivers
Posted by: zed - 2004-11-10, 12:47 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I just got a PVR-150MCE to add to my system. It comes with only the MCE drivers. Should I install them to use it with GB-PVR or should I download the others from Hauppague? Or will it matter?

Thanks...

  Some "sound" feedback
Posted by: Falcon929 - 2004-11-09, 11:03 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

I wish there was a configurable noise made when I click on things. Sometimes I don't know if the computer registers my input from my ir remote. It would be easy to tell if the input was received if there was a sound made. If that is easy enough, why not make different sounds for different events. Like foward and rewind could have one noise, and selecting an item could have a different noise. Also moving the cursor could have its own noise.

Yea sound. That would be cool.
Thats my wish,
Matt

PS - Great Program. I love it. [Image: cool.gif]

  User guide

Hello!

as a newbie I have not found a single point that lists what functionality is available using the hauppauge remote with gb-pvr. If this is in a single place can someone pointme to it please? If not can I suggest the following:

Add in the buttons and their functionality in each stage/section.

I am willing to collate these into a doc and/or enter them on the wiki (If I can get access!Wink.

Just thought it would be a nice to have. For instance trawling through the board I found that (Ctrl-B) Blue button shows the hint menu when playing a video and/or may allow comskip but where do you get comskip from eh?

So,

Mode/Section Button Action
Playback Blue (Ctrl-B) Show progress bar

keep on adding!

  Changing Channels On External Source
Posted by: nutsaboutfilberts - 2004-11-09, 09:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

BACKGROUND
I've eventually got my system more or less configured. It's a little complex, so let me explain that first.

My terrestrial TV signal, and my Digital set top box signal are sent round all the rooms in my home on regular co-axial.Channels 1-5 have been configured to internal tuner-aerial, and work perfectly (as does recording etc). The cable signal is set to the same capture source, but with a fixed channel, external tuner through the aerial.

The trick I can't manage is getting my digital set top box to change channel for recordings. I'm not sure which bit of the system I need to change.

My ntl Cable box is a Pace 2000, so I need a redeye to convert the irDa signal to regular RC5 ( or whatever). I know this works, as a regular remote now operates the channel changing on the box.

Because the HTPC is in a different room to the set top box, the signals are sent from room1 to room2 through a Marmitek Pyramid signal sender. I know this works too.

I have connected my USB-UIRT to the computer and this seems to work, as it has learned the signals, and I have the file saved, and lights flash at the appropriate times.

RECORDING PROBLEM

When I wish to record from the cable box, the UIRT blaster does send out a message - unfortunately, this message seems to be confused, and I'm not getting the right channel. Having looked here, at the RedEye site, and at the USB_UIRT site, I'm not quite clear where the problem lies.

Does anyone have any suggestions [Image: rock.gif]

Still problems with a bar above the gbpvr window
Posted by: MaBo - 2004-11-09, 04:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi,
I'm still having problems with the gbpvr window not filling the entire screen. There is still an empty band above the window. I've tried windowed mode on and off, used the -noframe commandline switch, and even tried to put the window on a specific position with the -pos switch. Nothing worked. In every case the empty band above the window remained...

It's not a huge issue, but would be nice to have solved.

Greetz,
MaBo

Useful tool for cutting MPEG1/2 files?
Posted by: el-em - 2004-11-09, 11:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Came across http://cuttermaran.movie2digital.de/ which looks like it might be promising for chopping up large MPEG files generated by GBPVR (without recalculation).

Since my PVR is still in working prototype mode (Pentium III 800) I don't have really great resources for mashing large MPEG files (not without having several hours spare!Wink - Anyone else want to try it and post some feedback?

Any Plans for Tim Bar in LiveTv?
Posted by: RobDMB - 2004-11-09, 04:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Your program is great and I especially like that it can use the xcard for osd but I was wondering if you had any plans to include a time bar for the osd in livetv so you could see where you are when you fastforward and rewind like some other pvr programs have.

  pvr250mce black screen
Posted by: jdc - 2004-11-09, 04:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Here is the pvr250mce driver version: 1.18.21.22247 (9/3/2004)
I can only hear TV audio sound, but no video, just a black screen.

Have anybody experienced the same problem with pvb250mce?

p.s. I chose pvr250 + FM radio as tuner type. Is that a correct one?
