Celeron 766, ATI AIW, Aver M150
Posted by: paulrbeers - 2004-09-21, 02:46 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Will a Celery 766 with an ATI AIW card (which has hardware decoding) and an Avermedia m150 be able to handle timeshifting and recording? I want to run windows xp stripped down (I know there is a program out there that will strip down windows xp and if anyone knows how I can get ahold of a copy please tell me!Wink. Right now I have 192 mb of ram for it, but realise I might have to upgrade. I am also planning to use an 80 gb WD SE (its what I have lying around) 7200 rpm hard drive. Tell me what you think? Do I need to upgrade the processor?

First thing first... Sub, Great software.. You are the man. It's people like you who make the Internet great.

I can only imagine the time you have put into this.

Do you have any plans for a newsletter? I find myself checking the forums everyday for new releases, info and see others problems. It would be nice to subscribe to a newsletter so when new info is available it is emailed.

Just a thought.

Cheers,

What about a how-to section in the forum, where people can contribute with various how-to's. I've seen it work well in other forums...

  Sound - 2 ways
Posted by: Jean-Christophe - 2004-09-21, 09:16 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Hi,

It works very nice now.
I have to use PVR350 TV-Out to have a fluent image, anyway mhen I use tv-out, sound comes from tv-out, and Net Radio or FM Radio sound comes from my PC speaker.
I'm confused about fixing this.

I would like all sound "GB-PVR related" come out from the same source.

Any idea?

PS: is there a "search" function in the forum?

Does anyone know if this car is supported? On the website MSI Website it says and I quote

"MPEG4 Real-time encode TV programs" I'm not sure if this is via software or Hardware"

I've tried gb-pvr config with different config's but I get no picture just this error (which might be total unrelated)

"Failed to communicate with Recording service" [Image: wow.gif]

The service is running ?

I don't need to use the tuner only the composite in as I intend to plug the pvr directly into my Sky Box.

Oh I'm runnning Windows 2000 on a MSI MegaPC 651.

Thanks
Brian

  XML Listings

Hi Sub,

Is there anyway of resetting the XMLListings without having to reload the GBPVR software and reconfigure.I had to stop using the Org XML because it was blocked.I then changed to BLEB. I was looking at the forums and there is a better one
that the Radio Times have now. I have chaged to RT but all my channels are mixed up. Do I need to start from scratch?

  PVR-250 Black Screen
Posted by: jrmosier - 2004-09-20, 07:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Again, kudo for this great looking software.

I'm not sure if I am on the right track but am hopeful that someone else has cracked this nut.

I have a brand new PVR-250 and Media MVP. The PVR installed fine with the .inf and PCI drivers from Hauppauge's site. WinTV would not display anything until I loaded the Software MPEG decoder though.

Question 1
Can I assume that this card is always encode to MPEG2 and that the only way it can be interfaced is via an MPEG decoder, like the SW one I installed from Hauppauge site?

Now that WinTV is working great, pause live TV, etc. I installed GB-PVR. I have every combination of primary, VMR, overlay, etc, but still always get a black screenm thought I hear audio. I also played with the playback setting too, but no luck

Question 2
Does GB-PVR have the ability to use the SW decoder in live tv mode?

I went a head and installed the MVP and noticed that it booted fine, but seems to reboot often for no reason when playing music. Also the screen characters are off my display a little on the top and the right.

Question 3
Can the screen size be controled in GB-PVR so as to not extend off my tv screen?

  MediaMVP Benefits
Posted by: jdrietz - 2004-09-20, 05:45 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Does the MediaMVP provide any benefit besides allowing the computer with gb-pvr to be located away from the tv? If a have space - and my wife doesn't complain ;-) about having a computer next to the TV, is there still a benefit gained from having a MediaMVP?
