Hi all,
I wonder if it would be possible to show the current time on the screen by pressing a button on the remote?

best regard,

  MediaMVP client?
Posted by: chrisw - 2004-09-05, 12:20 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Does anyone know if there are any Windows based MediaMVP clients. From what I understand it is a small variation on VNC and yes I do mean client for connecting to something like the GBPVR MediaMVP server.

There are a number of reasons for asking, the first is a simple client for testing skins etc, the second reason is I would imagine that it would create a basic gbpvr remote client for scheduling etc.

All suggestions welcome.

Does PVR350/250 proccesing the sound it self
Posted by: cookie.dk - 2004-09-05, 09:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

(First, apologize for my bad english)

Does PVR350/250 processing the audio it self or do it use a soundcard, when it store the movie then recording ?

And what about playback, can PVR350 processing the audio it self or do I need a soundcard?

I have a Xcard, would it together with a PVR250, could make the audioprocess from an recorded/timeshiftet movie, without a soundcard?

I am asking because I also have an Ati All In Wonder 128 (which have not being used for a long time), which I have taking in use again, just to try pvr-function with ShowShifter (which support Ati AIW 128) but playing a recorded/timeshiftet movie, the sound is horrible and the audio process is going around the soundcard, a Maestro II.

Are there other things I should take into consideration?

Two Channel Changers for Two Tuners?
Posted by: krypton_john - 2004-09-05, 08:10 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

Hiya all,

Is it possible to run two channel changers (say, USBUIRT) with two tuner cards and two set-top boxes?

If so, how does one associate a particular USB channel changer to a particular tuner?

Cheers,
JohnO

Can't FF/Rew (or 10 second skip) on live viewing
Posted by: 2002cbr600f4i - 2004-09-05, 03:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hey gang,

Finally got pretty much everything working between GB-PVR, my Dish 301 receiver, the Hauppauge 250, and my USB-UIRT module.

One annoying thing I've found though: I can pause live TV, but I can't rewind it from the Hauppauge remote. And if I leave it paused for say, 2 minutes, I can't then FF to catch back up. I can only hit play to continue from where I had paused.

Any ideas?

  mount ISO's
Posted by: fini - 2004-09-05, 12:47 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Now I know this topic has been briefly touched upon before, but I've found out something that might be useful. With Daemon you can parse it options like this daemon.exe -mount 0, "X:\ISONAME.iso" which would then mount the ISO up as a normal DVD drive.

It thus can't be that hard to make a plugin that allows you to select an ISO as you do a video right now and then play it. Surely it would just be a matter of tinkering with some of the pictures plugin code. As far as I'm aware all the plugins are written in C#, but I only know VB. I thus pass this onto to anyone else as to whether its feasible etc.

  Use without configuring EPG
Posted by: midefra - 2004-09-04, 05:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am not interested in EPG, as I only watch and record TV from a satellite receiver through Composite line. The Configuration, however, asks me for a filename and other actions which I don't understand and on whose effects, as told, I'm not interested. Is there a way to jump all this part and go to see and record TV?
Many thanks for any assistance

Miguel

Recording quality terrible and no live TV!!
Posted by: mbeechwood - 2004-09-04, 04:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Recently installed my pvr 250 to go alongside my mvp....using hauppage s/w recording quality is fine, but with GB-PVR it is terrible. Also when i try and watch live tv i get a black screen for a few seconds followed by the 'stop' icon appearing on screen and then it jumps back to the main menu.

Ive been through the config app a few times but cant see anything obviously wrong. Really want to use GB-PVr as the interface is soooo much better than Haupp, espec for recording from an EPG, but am running out of ideas...!

I have pretty low specced machine (Optiplex GX100...750 celeron w/256Mb), but i can view and pause live TV on the PC, and it can record OK with Hauppage, so Idont think this is the cause?? I also have latest drivers

Any help much apprecited

  USB-UIRT
Posted by: krypton_john - 2004-09-04, 12:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I ordered mine from usbuirt.com and it arrived in New Zealand just a week later.

This thing works great on my Zenith Sky Digital decoder and setting it up was as easy as idiot proof.

I'm using an X-10 RF remote to control GBPVR via Girder and that also works pretty much perfectly.

Now... all I need to do now is get that 2nd tuner working and get in a couple of MVP's and I'm in PVR Nirvana!
