A recent request was raised for multiple rows of buttons on the main menu screen instead of scrolling as it currently does. Another request leant more towards using submenus (e.g. a TV menu, which has TV Guide, Recordings, LiveTV, Search Guide).

What would you prefer?

I just installed a PVR-250...and WinTV2000 works just fine...but GB-PVR gives me a vertical distortion. No sound comes out either.

I get this error code in the logs:

When I try to "force EPG" I get the message that "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again."
All seems to be set up correctly (i.e. zap2it is up and running, etc.), but it just won't work. Any suggestions?

it would appear from reading these forums that there are some problems with the pvr 350 drivers and particular motherboard chipsets.

which is beyond sub's control to fix

with that in mind has anyone complied a definitive list of which particular chipsets cause the problem.

it might be of help to other users allowing them to check things out before they make a purchase of pvr or motherboard

Well, I've already read and posted several messages on this subject, but it appears that waiting for hauppauge to solve the problem of black-screen-on-tv-out-after-hibernate will last longer than the economic life-time of the pvr350...

But, I also found out that the pvr350 can be restarted fairly easily with a batchfile calling the microsoft tool "devcon" (see another post on this subject). The only thing that has to be solved now is: how can this batchfile be executed directly after waking from hibernation before gbpvr starts recording.

Restarting takes only a few seconds with devcon, but the card has to be free, otherwise a reboot is necessary for restarting.
Thus ir.exe has to be stopped (it has a commandline switch for that)
When gbpvr recordingservice is recording or has just stopped recording it has to be stopped as well. This, off course, ruins the running recording, but just after hibernation I expect this to be no problem.

Is there anyone with programming experience that can develop a tool that:
1/ listens to the windows messages on going into hibernation and resume.
2/ execute a batchfile after resume from hibernation (and preferably another batchfile when going into hibernation)

I like to look into this and start programming something like that, but since my programming experience is small and rather old (Pascal/Modula) I expect others can hack something like this faster and better.

I saw that you added a new advertise for Accent HTPC chassis. Does that mean that GBPVR will support the iMon remote and VFD display delivered with Accent's chassi?

I am having troubles getting the weather plugin to work.

I performed a default installation of GB-PVR and it appears to be functioning properly (pretty slick too, I might add!

I have placed the WeatherPlugin.dll into the Plugins directory, and created a 'weather' subdirectory below 'Skin|Blue', placed all of the image files and the skin.xml into that directory.

I then configured GB-PVR to show the Weather plugin and the Comics plugin. The "Comics" button is showing on the main menu and appears to funtion properly but, the "Weather" button is missing.

Did I muck something up in the installation?

I also tried moving the image files to various other locations below the gbpvr directory but, none of those tried seemed to work either.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll post in a few minutes the filters that come up in graphedit. Lemme know if you can help a brutha out. Here's some prelim info before I repost.

Emuzed Maui II S has a LSI DVXplore Mpeg encoder. Encodes in MPEG-2 format with support for both VBR and CBR up to 15Mbs. Audio encoding is in MPEG-1 format.

You'll notice in the Capture filter that there isn't a CAPTURE pin... therein might lie the problem. Instead there are two pins for audio and video separately. Audio MUST go through another Emuzed filter before you can get rid of the static. Here goes....

I am considering purchasing an Xcard for my HTPC but have
found that they cost NZ$444.70 +tax each! from PCGear.

I can buy one direct from Sigma (USA) for at least half that! Crazy....

If I buy two, the shipping is US$62.20. (Total US$228 / US$114 ea = NZ$175ea)

Total cost for 2 is less than NZ$400 so we don't have to pay Tax when it comes into the country.
(If I buy 3, then I get hit with NZ$62 in Tax so it is not worth it)
