  Buying a TV Card...
Posted by: jonespr1 - 2004-09-03, 01:01 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I have an MVP, and would like a TV Tuner/Recorder to go with it [Image: smile.gif]

I would ideally like it to be PCI card, able to watch Freeview and be able to record TV as well.

What is available and what is the rough price?

Also do the TV cards allow full screen viewing of TV, I had one previously and it only allowed you to watch TV in a small window [Image: sad.gif]

Thanks!

Robert

  Button names cut off
Posted by: efrank - 2004-09-02, 10:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Great program - have had a lot of fun messing with it.

The longer button labels like "Music Library"and "Video Library" are cut off. They look like "Music Libra" and "Video Libra" on my screen. Doesn't matter which skin I use. Can anyone help me out.

Thanks

  TV Walker Ultra problems
Posted by: andydixon - 2004-09-02, 09:38 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi,

I have my TV Walker Ultra up and running with the supplied TV viewing software, but when I run GBPVR and select Live TV I get a "Failed to communicate with GB-PVR Recording Service" error. Can anyone explain to me what this means and how I might be able to fix it?

Thanks
Andy

  Scrolling Menu?
Posted by: Rebo - 2004-09-02, 06:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

My HDTV has a low vertical resolution (1080x480).  GB-PVR scrolls vertically to accommodate additional plug-ins.  Is there a way to move the plug-in buttons horizontally (see image below)?

  GB-PVR strange appearance through MVP
Posted by: Scottola - 2004-09-02, 10:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've got GB-PVR running through my MVP and it works really, really well.

The only little problems I've got is that when it's running there are small vertical lines right the way across the screen.

You don't really notice from a distance, but sitting on the sofa they are quite clear. If I run MVP with the standard software this effect doesn't appear.

The other little thing is that when I play a video, there is always a 1 - 2 inch black strip at the bottom of the screen, again I'm not sure if I'm not clicking on a setting or something.

Any help or thoughts most appreciated

Best TV-Out on budget GFX card
Posted by: MrCarl - 2004-09-02, 10:21 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

This discussion kinda started from another post, firstly I was going to go for a PVR-350 but realised its TV-Out was very restrictive, then I thought of an XCard but found it was hard to come by and only 256 colour for menu's and pictures [Image: sad.gif] so im stumping for a traditional graphics card with TV-Out now so was thinking of either a Radeon 7000 or GeForce FX5200 which are both quite cheap...

However, I have seen posts praising the FX5200's here:

http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/archive/...17685.html

but some other people say its the otherway round and the Radeons TV-Out is better!!

Please help [Image: smile.gif]

  Support for Nebula digiTV ?
Posted by: mjb152 - 2004-09-02, 09:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

is there, or will there be support for this card in the future ?

The card has it's own web-based front end for recording shows, so even adding support for this would be a bonus.

  Playback Control
Posted by: brew - 2004-09-02, 05:56 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Excuse me if some of this has been said already but what I'd like to see is better playback control. I'd like to be able to:-

1) Start Playback from 5 minutes into the file
2) Skip to a 'Bookmarked' point
3) Play all files in a folder (I know this has been mentioned before)
4) Have the ability to toggle the play progress bar permanently on or off.

5) Skip by a pre-defined (config file) time period - again I think I've seen mention of this before

Now I realise for 1) you need an index file to do it accurately but + or - several seconds would be fine I think.

Whilst on this subject I find the skip button hard to use. If I press it repeatedly I can pretty easily crash the box. Is this a known problem?

  IR200L problem
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-09-02, 01:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

My Actisys IR200L arrived today, I pluged it into com1 and ran the channel changer settings for it. It learned the remote no problem. But I can not get it to do anything beyond that, in live TV I change the channels and nothing happens on the satelite receiver it is supposed to be controling. What am I missing here?

  Padding while recording?
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-09-02, 01:14 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

How about the ability to post-pad a show that is recording that's going to run late?
