I searched the forums and found one post that said there is no way to disable automatic recording, like when you're just watching tv and it records. I think that it is kinda ridiculous that there is no option to disable this. I mainly use GBPVR to just watch TV and I like the way everything is setup and easy to navigate but I have no need to record anything I watch. Instead I have delete the files GBPVR creates every couple days. Just seems wierd to me that this would not be an option.

I just got myself an ASUS Pundit-r barebone rig and noticed that the onboard graphics chip they use (the Radeon 9100 IGP) has built in MPEG2 decoder. Will this work with GB-PVR?
I have an original 'WinTV-PVR- pci', I think it was replaced by the wintvpvr 350. Is this compatible with this application ? It keeps saying cannot connect with server. I have tried looking through the faq etc. I have never like the haupage software.
i have my mp3 organised by album, how come in the main menu a only few of my album folders show a thumbnail image of the cover when in fact most folders have a cover image (.jpg) in their. its the same few that show up each time however i reorganise, yet these are named or placed no differently from many of the others?
1) Like on Sky+ (but having an option to disable/enable cos some system may not like it), recording up to half an hour every time you watch some channel so rewind is available whenever no matter what? When you change channel cancel the recording and start another, again up to half an hour, just like on Sky+ (maybe you could have an option to choose how long you want the pre-view-padding-recording (phew! to be!.
2) Somebody make a plugin to support funky visualisations! This would be the icing on the cake for the jukebox plugin, making the lounge ultra-ULTRA-cool!
I'm having a small problem with the SBE-Feature and the Hauppauge Intervideo NonCSS Codec. After pausing LiveTV for more than 8 minutes it's impossible for me to use FF or RW. The OSD shows a negativ time-display like "SBE -00:03:01".
Hi All,
I just started playing with this app as a substitute for media center. Nicely done.
My question is How do I keep the aspect ratio on my divx or xvid backups? Even if I specify the 16x9 in the setup, GBPVR stretches it to full screen and whomps the aspect ratio.
Any ideas?
Is there an API call that will allow me to display some text (on an MVP) when something external happens. IRRESPECTIVE of which screen is showing.
The plugin I want to develop is a "phone call from...." popup message that overlays the screen.
The "backend" is easy - I can write some .NET code to trap an incoming xAP message, and parse that to work out whether it's a phone call. Then, if it is, I can display a message on screen... or can I?
For those not familiar, xAP is an open protocol for Home Automation (http://www.xapautomation.org). As such, there are already drivers for various systems that send a xAP message round the network when the phone rings. I want to be able to trap these messages a popup on my telly, using MVP, when this happens.
Is it just me or has the systemtray icon for the recording service disapeared in the new release (wen't from .18 to .20)? Is there any way to get it back, I kind of liked having a confirmation that the service was runing.
Im just after a bit of advice, what I want is a media centre pc which does the following:
1) Plays videos, dvds, mp3s off the pc and displays on my TV
2) Takes a video input from my digital freeview reciever
3) Can output using one of theose usb IR transmiters to change the channel of my digital reciever
4) Full PVR capabilities and playback to TV
My main concearn is getting as much as possible working on the TV and though the remote control that comes with the PVR-350. SO a couple more questions should narrow things down:
5) Does the TV-Out on the PVR-350 allow you to use the full GB-PVR interface on my TV with dvd, video, mp3 & picture playback etc??
6) Does the remote with the PVR-350 allow you to control the GB-PVR interface ok??
Im really looking forward to getting my first media centre pc working but want to get things right and will definately be making a donation when its all working as this software looks great!!
