Add a settings option in menu to adjust overscan
Posted by: armyb77 - 2004-08-29, 07:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello I love your product however I just can't use it! I connect though my VGA port to my HDTV. The only resolution that works with my video card and TV is 640x480 and it produces a pretty big overscan problem. SageTV has a nice feature that allows you to resize your screen so that everything can be viewed in their program. I was wondering if you could add a feature like this. Because even though sagetv is a good program, your program has alot better features, and I like your intrerface alot better.
If you could add this feature it would make things alot easier for me, and I think others aswell.

Thanks for all your hard work!

  SBE not works on 350?
Posted by: Dady - 2004-08-29, 07:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi all,

I have tried GB-PVR onto Xp Mce and SBE worked fine; now I try to use Xp Pro Italian (same Hw and Sw and same SP 1a) and SBE (checked into the config tool) not work (only I can see Buffer:0% and can pause, but I can't FF and RW). In the logs there aren't errors and the mpeg pause file is present...

Perhaps the Os isn't important...

The question: what determine if SBE can run or not (after the flag into the config tool)??

I have Pvr350/NVidia Geforce 4 Mx 64 Mb DDR Agp

Thanks in advance !!!!

Dady

Hi there,

I get the following error message seen in the screenshot when trying to uninstall GB-PVR.  I have tried to reinstall so that I can try to uninstall but I get the same error message.  I have also pointed the install program to the downloaded MSI file but that does not work either.

RGDS & TIA

Curtis M.

  Always recording??
Posted by: KFAPSnorre - 2004-08-29, 04:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi all here! I installed GB-PVR, and its really cool! I just have one small problem. Every time when I choose TV Guide, then choose one program and hit WATCH NOW, I see the TV-picture. Everthing is fine.

BUT, as soon as I see the TV-Picture, GB-PVR starts to record the LivePicture each time! How can I stop that?

Thanks for your help in advance!

MVP Won't Work with latest release
Posted by: livesNbox - 2004-08-29, 02:31 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I just got my media mvp -- and so far as far as I've gotten is the main menu of the gbpvr interface -- if I try to view live tv or recorded programmes it throws a .net exception on the server. and then I can't reconnect to the gbpvr menu until I reboot the gbpvr server.

so, for now I'm banished to the media mvp "stock" software -- so at least I can play recordings through it.

Any help?

p.s. is there any documentation on how I am supposed to setup the mvp to work with gbpvr ?

New utility to help with channel tuning probs
Posted by: sub - 2004-08-29, 07:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (27)

As so many european users have difficultly finding the right channel numbers to key into GB-PVR against their channels, I've spent some time this weekend making a utility to help make it easier.

If you're currently experiencing these problems, or have had them in the past, you could download http://www.gbpvr.com/TuningAssistant.exe and give it a try.

It just a simple channel scanner that will help you find the channel numbers. This is really a test run for integrating something directly into GB-PVR.

  Lots of problems
Posted by: chicorico - 2004-08-28, 11:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Everyone!

First, Massive thanks to sub for all your hard work [Image: biggrin.gif]

When changing channels whether by just going up and down the channel list, or pressing the green button and browsing the channels and then making my choice GBPVR freezes, locking up the whole computer, forcing me to pull the plug to reboot.  This happens without fail, especially when I change channel when the OSD is up.  I have played with my config settings, codecs, overlay, vmr7 (no luck with vmr9) and it hasnt made a difference.  If it is a codec problem where can i aquire other MPEG2 codecs from? cough*freely*cough  (only Intervideo in the drop down list)

System Specs
PIII 1Ghz
PVR-350
USB-UIRT + Cable Box

Secondly, I have scheduled about 10 recordings so far, only 1 of which hasnt failed.  For no reason at all it just isnt recording.  Does GB-PVR need to be in focus or shut down or something I dont know about after scheduling a recording? I wont be able to enjoy Arsenals victory over and over and over tomorrow [Image: biggrin.gif] Maybe it's the screensaver?

Thirdly - I can create a new remote profile for USB-UIRT, but if i try to make another one it just ploughs on through the setup without me pressing anything on my remote.  I have to reboot for it to work again [Image: rock.gif]

Fourth?  It also created a 200mb log file the other night when it crashed whiile I was sleeping...

It's such a shame because when it's working it's fantastic... unfortunately it only works a few minutes at a time for me. i'm so envious of everyone who has it working well.

1 more thing, is there a way to jump to the TV guide from Live TV? Or do you have to go to menu and then choose TV guide?

Thanks for listening,

Anthony [Image: biggrin.gif]
