Anyone using GB-PVR and the MediaMVP over a wireless bridge? Since I started using GB-PVR I have been looking at getting an MVP just because it looks cool, but my wife has insisted "NO MORE WIRES". I was thinking of combining the MVP and GB-PVR with a bridge, but would 802.11b be enough, or do I have to spring for the 802.11g hardware?

Hi, does anybody have any recommended sources of EPG data for New Zealand, suitable for use with GBPVR?

I'm especially looking for something that carries SkyTV as well as the FTA channels.

I dunno anything more about it other than it does tv capture with onboard MPEG encoding, and it is quite cheap - around 1/2 the price of a PVR-250.

My card works great, except for I've got one channel (channel 2, CBS in Los Angeles at 54 MHz) that has really bad horizontal lines.  Unfortunately, the sole purpose of setting up a PVR for me was to record episodes of CSI.

This happens on any PVR software I try (GBPVR, Hauppauge's WinTV2000, and BeyondTV when I tried that joint out a few weeks ago).  Hauppauge tech support says try a new coax cable (I did, no change) or a signal booster (haven't tried yet).  Are horizontal lines indicative of a weak signal?

My cable connection is as follows:
* Cable modem vs. TV on the first splitter
* TV is split - first goes to digital cable box, second goes to PVR
* Cable provider is Comcast (I'm on their digital starter package)

So technically I'm only pulling in analog cable and the PVR is receiving certain stations only (the public stations like CBS, NBC, and FOX), which is fine with me.  I might get an IR blaster and just use the PVR to record from the cable box, but I'd like to watch TV and record a different channel at the same time.

System is WinTV PVR-250 on an Athlon 2200+, 1 gig RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

I think i have everything pretty much sorted as i want and so these are merely refinements i could do with some advice on:

1. I tend to record a lot of movies which i convert to DVD using Ulead Movie factory (good software but can anyone suggest better?) the problem is 'medium' quality tends to set the size of a 90 min movie at about 5.5GB and 'low' at only 2.5GB. Is there any way for me to tweak this so i can get a setting somewhere in between?

2. Perhaps unrelated but i would like to control a few basic apps from windows ie Winamp (to use all my playlists) and DVD shrink etc. i only intend to have 4 icons on the desktop all maximised to be viewable on my TV but wish i could find software that enables me to use my Hauppauge PVR350 rmote with windows? uIRC does not seem to support the PVR350 remote - is it just me or has anyone got it working in a similair way??

I love the new DVD Ripper , it's very easy to use, put in a DVD and click okay ... done. So easy.

However I have found a problem , on mine at least. I set my base folder as Videos (Which in config is c:\Videos) and say I am copying 'Blow' (the movie) when it passes information to DVDDecrypter it passes the path C:\VideosBlow\ . So I end up with copied DVD in C:\VideosBlow rather than in a sub directory in my Videos folder.

I think it just needs to pass an extra backslash after the base folder path.

However I may very well be doing somthing hidiously wrong.

Could sub or anyone please advise ?

thanks for the great new release. I appreciate the new installation procedure with keeping of configuration information very much.

But i have a problem with live TV (in .20). While watching live TV the hard Disk activity rises after about 20 minutes from a flickering light to almost constant on. After watching a channel for about 30 minutes live TV freezes with harddisk activity still being high. Pressing stop on the remote brings me back to the Menu. I can then watch live TV again. This happens only with live TV. No problems with playback of recordings.

I use PVR350 via TV-Out on Win XP with NTFS Filesystem, P4 with 2GHz. I use the machine only for GBPVR. Shall I send a specific logfile?
