  Incorrect Channel Icons in TVSchedule
Posted by: Bigted - 2004-08-16, 04:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am downloading an XMLTV file for New Zealand free to air channels
from TV Listings for NZ .

It all works well except that the icons that appear for channel 2
and channel 3 are incorrect.

Channel 2 appears as UPN
Channel 3 apperas as ABC

Can any one suggest a fix?

Thanks

  EPG w/ network connection
Posted by: james - 2004-08-16, 04:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi,

I will be setting up a PVR within the next few days (just waiting for my PVR-350) and I was just wondering if there is a way to populate the EPG without a network connection. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I have a high speed internet connection and I have networked several PCs in my home. However, the TV is in the basement and the main computers with internet connection are in the 2nd floor. I know that wired is more reliable and more consistent than wireless so I want to put an ethernet wire all the way to the basement... but I'm having second thoughts... I'm also investigating the 802.11g angle...

Eventually, I will network this PVR PC one way or the other. BUT while it is not yet networked, is there a way for me to populate the EPG maybe from a file that is generated from any of my networked PCs? I was thinking that maybe, I can generate the EPG from a networked PC, copy the file to a removable media (CD, USB drive, etc), then copy it again to the PVR PC?

TIA.

James

Support for Sigma Real Magic Hollywood+ Cards
Posted by: Bigted - 2004-08-16, 04:00 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

As per the title.......

Is there any support for the Hollywood + Cards (instead of the XCard) for TV Out?

These are a heap cheaper than the Xcard and can be found 2nd hand.

Thanks

  Accessing future days in schedule
Posted by: spellmn - 2004-08-16, 12:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I think I'm missing something here.  Let's say today is Monday and I want to schedule the recording of a show on Wednesday.  How do I go about changing the date of the TV listing I'm looking at.  I've poked around these forums and the Zap2It forums, but I just can't seem to find anyone else being as think as me.

  Netradio problem
Posted by: JAK - 2004-08-15, 07:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My configuration uses a PVR-350 and a MediaMVP, so I have started GBPVR and GBPVR MediaMVP Server. When I try to play Netradio on the MediaMVP everything is fine. When I try to play the channels directly on the computer I get:
Station: Failed to connect to radio station.
The strange thing is, that the song title is displayed.

I tried to start only GBPVR without the MediaMVP Server after rebooting, but the problem remains the same.

Also is there a possibility, that this is somehow connected to other problems I have with jukebox (playing files and only on the soundcard not on the PVR-350)?

Revised Web Interface - Request Your Feedback
Posted by: ricecrazy - 2004-08-15, 05:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

I've been talking with sub about redesigning the Web interface.  If you have a moment, please take look at these screenshots and provide your feedback.

This first iteration I think would be a basic skin job, keeping GBPVR's current color scheme and identity, with no new functionality.  I'm thinking it would be a good idea to drop the frameset and put the listings in a popup window when you click on them.

TV Guide Screen:
http://www.rightonbro.com/gbpvr/remote3_...stings.jpg

Listing Popup Window:
http://www.rightonbro.com/gbpvr/remote3_with_popup.jpg

Scheduled Recordings:
http://www.rightonbro.com/gbpvr/remote3_scheduled.jpg

I think my wishlist for this aspect of the program is:
* Ability to configure recordings like the main app (setting recording quality, padding time)
* Color-coding listings by type (i.e. green for movies, red for news, or whatever)
* Password protection up front
* Display listing description and other XMLTV data (such as movie rating, stars) if it's available, on the popup window or even on the grid itself
* An "Options" tab to let the user pick a different-colored skin, whether or not to have listings, etc.

Thoughts?  Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
mdj

S-Video In and remote on PVR-350 not working!
Posted by: joshley - 2004-08-15, 04:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a wierd problem:

Firstly I can get GB-PVR to operate fine when using the RF-OUT (NTL STB) to RF-IN (PVR-350), but there is only mono sound because it's RF on 350 (only mono supported). So I now have NTL plugged in via S-Video In on my 350, but whenever I use anything other than the RF option as the source, when I go into LiveTV mode, nothing happens, just blank screen (with the Bleb info on BBC1 at the bottom) and if I click 'Home' on my keyboard, my computer just completely freezes!
Any suggestions? I've tried all other input options, but I just can't seem to get the S-Video In to work at all! [Image: sad.gif]
Also, my Hauppauge remote doesn't seem to have any effect on GB-PVR anymore, it used to, but now it doesn't! Batteries are fine and works in WinTV 2000!
Thanks!
josh

  Question about cable boxes
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-15, 12:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Does anoyne out there have a PVR350 and a channel changer so that they have GBPVR getting video through the Svideo line in but switching the channels on their cable or satelite box by use of an IR sender tied into the GBPVR channel guide? Is this possible?

  Still problems with my EPG
Posted by: s.grobi - 2004-08-14, 11:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

i still have trouble with my EPG.
Meanwhile i searched in many forums. But i could not find any answer for my problem.

The TV-Guide of GB-PVR is nice. But it would be more nice to see the movie titles in my language.
A movie which is not made in Germany (the most of them are not [Image: wink.gif] ) is displayed with the title it has in the country where it was made. The german title is never displayed. So it is hard to find out the movies i want to record.

The 'tvguide.xml' file grabbed with 'XMLTV 0.5.43' contains both, the original title and the german title.

I guess that GB-PVR does not recognize them [Image: sad.gif]

Perhaps somebody here in germany can help me in this case?

S.Grobi
