  Priority

Hi,
First of all I want to say great program! I tested some of the comercial ones but found no one that I liked as much as this one.

One really nice fature that seems to be missing though is the abilty to set diffrent priorities on series (when choosing to record the entier season). Sometimes they overlap eachother and it would be nice to be able to choose that if x and y overlaps, record y.

  Hardware decoder
Posted by: united - 2004-06-15, 05:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've just installed v.18 and I use Hauppauge PVR USB2. Since Hardware decoder only is availible for PVR350 I get a rather bad and jagged picture when playing LiveTV. When I watch LiveTV in WinTV2000 everything is nice (because then the builtin hardware decoder is used).

Does anyone know if the hardware decoder in PVR USB2 will be availible in GBPVR soon or can I configure anything else to make things better? As it is now I can't watch TV in GBPVR and I want to use it.

  Version 18 recording quality
Posted by: Paul Mc - 2004-06-15, 01:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

In the GBPVR Configuration program if I go to Edit Recording Source and click on Settings the Quality Profile Settings field is set to Medium Quality. Changing it to another value appears not to be saved.

  Media MVP
Posted by: mikejaner - 2004-06-15, 01:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

First off. I must say excellent work on the latest release Sub.

I installed V0.18 last night and began with testing the quality and stability of the Media MVP with GBPVR and noticed a couple of things. The stability of the interface is less than desireable. I ran into a couple of lockups which I can't pinpoint at the moment, but had to restart in order to make the MVP behave again. I am a D1 owner so I don't think it's an overheating problem, and I think only D3 has problems.
When switching back and forth between LiveTV and the Program guide, and miniguide, I sometimes ran into a screen which seemed to be black and flashin the green play icon in the top right of the screen every second or so. This problem persisted even when I powered off the MVP and powered it back on. The main screen would come back up, but it would go back to that flashing screen whenever I tried to enter LiveTV.
Let me know if there is any other info I can give you.
Oh yeah, I am using the latest beta MVP drivers and 250 drivers XXXX037

  MVP Newbie
Posted by: Lee - 2004-06-15, 09:12 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

1st post newbie, so please excuse the potentially dumb questions!

I have just installed GB and think it’s a fantastic system, many thanks to Sub and all the others here that created this.

On to the dumb questions;

1. I was thinking of getting an MVP and can understand how this plays files from the server, but how do you record? Are there video/audio inputs on the MVP & does the server software do the actual recording? What about controlling a STB?

2. Do people here think using an MVP & separate server is a better option than building a SFF PC and putting it under the TV?

3. Has anyone tried using the MVP using a Wireless Ethernet Bridge (802.11g)? Does it work at all and are there any restrictions such as maybe it works for playback but not recording?

Many thanks in advance,

Lee

  My setup or changed functionality?
Posted by: jeffcora - 2004-06-14, 10:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi Sub,

Great work, love some of the improvements. Couple of things I've noticed on 0.18, but not sure if it's my set-up, changed functionality or a problem.

When watching LiveTV, the banner will appear but I never get the Skip, FF, pause buttons appearing. I can pause using the keyboard and play again, but can't ff, rew or skip etc

Also whilst watching Video's, the Skip, FF, pause etc will appear but the FF and REW don't do anything, nor do the eqivalent keyboard inputs. FF skips a frame or 2, that's it. Don't think this worked for me on previous version either.

This is all on the PC end and I've done a complete uninstall and re-install. Is it just my set-up?

Cheers, Rob

  Season Record in V.18
Posted by: phuturetech - 2004-06-14, 09:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Lots of good stuff to play with in the new version, but is the season record option missing? I thought I might have screwed the install of the skins (by installing over v17) but after a clean install it still seems to be missing.......
