Hey all,

I'm brand new to this DIY-PVR stuff but this software is great, makes it easy. I got everything up and running in a weekend, including building the PC from scatch. I have everything running at 99%, now that I offset my timezone to account for daylight savings.

My ONLY problem to date is playing back an AVI file in the video library. I have audio but only a black screen for video. I'm pretty sure that the problem is a video decoder somewhere, but, like I said I'm brand new to this stuff. If anyone could give me a little insight on where I might be able to set the proper decoder, also ideas on what the proper setting need to be would be greatly appreciated.

I would have gladly read the manual, but I couldn't really find one outside the quickstart guide.

I just got a WinTV PVR2 USB and was wondering how to get GB-PVR to work with the Hauppauge remote? I've tried a couple of settings in Capture Device, but haven't been able to get it to work.

When I try and start GBPVR, I get the error (or message) that "The system does not support VMR9 rendering. Try a different renderer."

What does this mean and how do I fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and a debt will be owed.

I seem to recall reading (but not sure where) that the EPG will update automatically from Bleb(UK) providing Bleb(UK) is set up in the GB-PVR Configurator.  This works very well indeed.  I also note that there is the facility to manually update via the <edit recording source> tab in the Configurator.  However I would like to be able to alter the time of the automatic update but cannot seem to find anything in any of the config/xml/ini files to change.  Is is possible for a user to alter the update time in this way?  If not perhaps could this be added as an option in the 'Bleb Configuration window"?

I'd like to stream Live365 MP3 streams to my MediaMVP via GB-PVR. Is this possible? I've tried using WinAmp to generate a .pls playlist of a station but GB-PVR either displays "...buffering" endlessly or displays "Failure connecting to station". Any help?

hi sub, sorry for the long questions.

1) when using the skip mode i sometimes get a screen freeze. The only way to resolve this is by reboot MVP and restart the MVP/GBPVR server program.

now the bit about    "An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file."

this was caused by pressing the skip button once and there was quite some time left of the film.



2) I'm using a PVR350 with medium record level. when reading the same log i noticed my file is known as mpeg1. I thought it should be mpeg2 ?

Hi,
When I try to use the Live TV function, I get the message: Video is playing back using TV Out. Press Home to return to menu. When I return, the program is not responding anymore.

What can be wrong?

i want to make it official: i am currently working on a plugin, which allows you to include dvd-profiler-data (collection.xml) in gbpvr. the plugin should have following features:

-configurable source of collection.xml.
-add infos from collection.xml to existing movies on harddrive
-search automatically for new movies and add matching entries from collection.xml
-treat folders with multiple movies (series for example) as folders and folders with only one movie as movie (the information from collection.xml matches folders)
-rename the movies from gbpvr

any suggestions, hints and ideas are welcomed! i am new to c#, but i make rather huge steps forward, collection.xml-information is displayed. wait two or three weeks and i will post a pre-alpha-version of this plugin.

i think, in future it would be nice to have a search-function through your offline/online (means on harddrive) movies, but this is after the first release. this plugin should be used with dvdprofiler from intervocative software, but can also be used without it. if sub wants to help, i could also store information from the epg.

edit: @sub: i don't know, what you are planning for the future, maybe, i implement features, which are already planned. could you please comment on my idea? thanks :-)

I am trying to install this great software. I have an Hauppage 350 card wich works great.
How do I know what XMLTV file I should use for the EPG source?
I am not a programmer and do not understand to much of this.

Am I missing something, or is there really no slideshow feature for pictures? It would be really nice to have a good slideshow with transitions etc. Even the one on the Hauppage software is pretty simple.

If anyone knows where/how I can get this feature, please let me know.
