WINTV-PVR 250 remote and Custom quality settings
Posted by: maxpower - 2004-08-17, 12:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I just installed my new PVR 250 and was trying to get it to work with GB-PVR and can't get the remote to work. I have the IR.exe installed and running, I have it selected in the channel changer and it works with the wintv 2000 software. Anyways, also how do you change to capture setting for the custom1 and custom2 that come up when you want to record something?

  Record from guide
Posted by: dbennett78 - 2004-08-16, 06:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is there supposed to be an option to record when you are browsing through the tv guide? When I pull up gbpvr on my computer and browse the guide there is no option to record when I look at a program description. Please let me know.

Problem with manual recording, I'm locked out...
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-08-16, 05:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,

I have problems with manual recordings.

At first I got the "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." when trying to set up a manual recording. But when trying some more times, it got accepted BUT now I get the error as soon as I try to view pending recordings.

Is there a possibility to do some "hard reset" on this?

While playing around with manual recordings, I also noted that I could not decrease the stop time past current time, even though I set the recording to happen tomorrow. However I could increment it, and thereby wrap around the stop time and set it correctly.

I still think this is a great program!

  Channel info in recordings
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-08-16, 05:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I'd like to see the channel icon (or channel number) in all
recordings listings (Ready, Pending,Reoccuring etc.)

It looks like this is the same info that is shown in the EPG,
but I don't see any disadvantages if the channel icon/number
shows up there as well.

This is a great program!

  Controlling a Cable Box
Posted by: Peetem - 2004-08-16, 03:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

First off, many thanks for help! Donations on the way, this program is great!! Do you take Paypal? [Image: smile.gif]

Now, to the bigger question(s)....

I've got digital cable and would like to be able to record stations higher than 125. I am currently using the "video in" on my Hauppauge pvr250 card. I have noticed some solutions for changing cable channles via the computer. But, how do they work with the scheduling of GBPVR?

For example, I want to record channel 325. I've got my software selected to use the "video in" to capture the video. How does GBPVR know to record off of channel 325 at 6pm until 8pm? Does it automatically change the cable channel to 325 and start recording off from the "video in" jack?

I'm concerned that I might purchase something to control the cable box via the computer, only to find it doesn't work with GBPVR.

Last, my cable box has a serial output and USB connection. Does anyone know how to interface the computer to a cable box using these connections?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to understand how everything "goes together".

Thanks in advance!

Pat

  Question for sub
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-16, 03:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Stop me if this is already possible, but for all of us with 350's that lock up with with OSD, would it be possible to leave all the OSD functions on the computer monitor and just output the mpeg to the TV screen when Live TV or a file is selected? Basically have it work the same was the Hauppage WinTV2000 appllication works, except actually be useable without a keyboard and mouse unlike the poorly thought out WinTV application. That way we could still have your great easy to use remote interface, TV guide and IR blaster support by putting a monitor next to the TV but still use our hardware decoder.

Multiple displays with Radeon and GB-PVR
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-16, 02:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Ok so I bought a PVR-350 last year because obviously I wanted a PVR in my computer. Well I chose the 350 because I wanted to have my computer desktop be available even while the machine is recording or playing back. But then GB-PVR comes along and makes my card crash all the time but I like the software so much that I'm thinking of selling my 350 and getting a 250 + an ATI Radeon with TV out. So I'm wondering, is there any way to use the Radeon's Dual display function to have GB-PVR play back on S-video out and NOT also display on the current desktop?

TV Guide Screen - any modded XML files?
Posted by: pleemeijer - 2004-08-16, 11:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I love this program, but as a long time user of myHTPC, I'm trying to come to grips with the TV Guide - actually the fact that for all the screen real-estate at 800x600, I'm not seeing alot of programs, or the channel names (with logos off) wrap.

Has anyone modded the XML file to make more use of the screen area? I'm OK with modding XML myself, but are having a problem trying to work out values for the channel name area (and how to change it's dimensions) and also how to lengthen the area for programs (for each hour).

All help appreciated.

Pete
