  TV-out graphics card recommendations?
Posted by: Siggi - 2004-08-10, 06:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I am having problems with the TV-out on the PVR-350 as discussed in other posts, and hope to solve it by getting a new graphics card with TV-out. Anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced card that will go with my somewhat old PC? Ideally with passive cooling. It will only be used for TV-out, so no need to support demanding games.

Thanks!

  Powerline Networking bandwidth for MVP
Posted by: goosey - 2004-08-09, 10:44 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Has anyone got any experience using any form of Powerline Networking with an MVP and GBPVR? I believe the speed of these things is about 14MB (or is it 14Mb), so theoretically not as fast as a strong signal wireless connection, but maybe more stable and less latency?

I have a wireless network that is not so reliable, and I don't want to punch holes in my walls for ethernet cabling so that I can have the MVP in a room that is a long way from the PC running GBPVR.

Also, there will always be a power outlet where the TV and stereo are so it would make it a good choice of connectivity for when one wants several MVPs......

Sub - any thoughts on the bandwidth that might be required?

  DVD Ripping plugin error
Posted by: goosey - 2004-08-09, 10:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I installed the DVD ripping plugin, pointed it to the latest version of DVDDecrypter, and ran it, but when I get into the plugin, any key I press raises the following error:

Error: Could not load type GBPVR.Backend.Common.GbpvrException from assembly GBPVRPublic, Version=1.0.1668.13690, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null.

Im using v. 0193

Help please, tried so hard :-)
Posted by: kevwright - 2004-08-09, 10:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I would really love to try this program, but have now spent several nights trying to get this working with no luck yet.

Latest setup is PVR 350, and although the little GB systray icon does now go green (stuck on red for ages before), when you click Live TV it trys but says Error Failure Playback File

If you try to watch via TV Guide (which is downloaded fine), then it locks up totally.

Tried this on 3 seperate computers and 3 different TV cards in last two weeks, someone please just tell me they have it working :-))

  AverMedia UltraTV 550
Posted by: aissakoo - 2004-08-09, 09:51 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

Does anyone know or can someone tell me if the GBPVEr supports the AverMedia UltraTV 550 PCI Card? I wanted to buy either that card or the Hauppauge PVR350 but the AverMedia UltraTV 550 is cheaper.

Mouse Cursor Visible on DVD Playback

The title says it all.  Is there any way to hide the mouse cursor during playback of DVDs?

  Cannot delete recorded programs
Posted by: jfinnan - 2004-08-09, 02:54 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

When using the MVP and GBPVR, I cannot delete any recorded programs. When I select the recorded program on the MVP, and then select DELETE, nothing happens. I've checked on the PC hosting GBPVR, and the recorded shows still remain in the directory....although they no longer show up in the MVP as a recorded and available program. It's a bit odd... I just have to delete them on both the MVP, and on the host PC.

Sorry..forgot to mention that this is version 0.19.3
