I am building a media center PC for big Screen TV and wanted to know if GB-PVR will work with any kind of DVB-S Cards and if not witch TV tuner card has the best image and motion quality.
First of all I want to say to SUB that his PVR app. is great and his project is going the right way.
My wish would be to have LCD support so it could show things like recording, the shows name etc the list could be as long as there are functions in GBPVR.
1. When recording a season only record one instance of the show. Currently if the same episode is played 10 times a day it records all of them.
2. When viewing recorded shows in the menu maybe put the episode number or description below it. Itâs hard to tell what I watched and what needs to be watched.
I'm thinking of getting a MediaMVP and was wondering the following
o What do people think of this device?
o As far as i can see, it can output both Pal and Ntsc. Is this correct?
o What is the power supply for it. Will be buying in the US and taking by to Ireland next year.
o Anything else anyone wants to add?
Is it possible to change the PVR350 TV Out switching to independent options for Live TV and Playback display.? i.e. 1. 'Internal display/monitor on/off' and 2. TV Out on/off'
The computer is a dedicated Multimedia machine in a unit set aside for Hi-Fi, A/V Receiver, video, DVD player etc. My configuration needs the monitor output for control purposes and the PVR TV Out for viewing. A bonus is the on-screen display provided by GB-PVR on the TV for remote control of the play functions.
I have been using WinTV2000 with all its drawbacks. This does cater for both displays to be active at the same time.
A sound mute on the local, computer side, as in WinTV to prevent a clash of out-ofsync audio is also needed.
Some of the presets for net radio have stopped working. In some cases it was a simple case of replacing the .pls file with an updated one from the site, as some sites have changed their streaming. However, even after doing so some don't work. They play fine in winamp (and in fact come up very quickly) but just don't work in GB's net radio interface. Anyone else having problems?
I have created a small console app in VB.Net which runs the RedRat IR Blaster. All works fine when I test it using command line e.g. "RedRover 106". I have setup gbpvr to call the external .exe and use as it's sole parameter {channel}. When I select Live TV the RedRover.Exe throws an exception System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException: Failed to create system
events window thread inside my code. I trawled round MSDN and other web sites and the only thing I have seen is an issue with a system service not being set to interact with the desktop.
Is the .exe called from the GBPVRRecordingService? Has something changed in release 16 (as this worked fine in release .15?)
