  Remote doesn't "enter" channel
Posted by: dbottiger - 2004-07-10, 02:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been able to get everything to go fine except for the ir200l to initiate "enter" after it punches in new channel. I see the channel appear on the screen but it just disappears after waiting for the enter and as a result the channel isn't changed. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

  new install
Posted by: misfit - 2004-07-09, 09:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

I've just installed and configured the latest version (Setup018l.exe) of your software on my pc.

It all seems to work fine ... apart from the live tv.

All I get is the error message "Error: Failure playing back file" when I click on the Live TV button.

If it helps any  - I'm using a PVR250 on an XP-Pro box.

Please see below for the tail of the GBPVR.exe.log file.

Any help would be most appreciated.

If you like, I can work up some SQL queries to add programs to the recording schedule. Your program can run these queries after an import to auto schedule some recordings. Write me if you are interested.

Changing channels with number-keys doesn't work
Posted by: steve_jacks - 2004-07-09, 03:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi there! Just a quick question after an evening of experimenting with your cool software [Image: smile.gif]

Is it a bug or a feature that I can't change channels using the number keys (either on my keyboard, or on my Hauppage remote)? Strangely enough I can use them if I open the mini-guide first and press a number key there.

All the other buttons work fine btw. (including changing the channels up/down)

  PayTV-Problem in Germany
Posted by: teris - 2004-07-09, 09:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

now I've connected a DVB-C-Box to my WinTV-PVR.
With the IR-Channel-Changer it can select the right channel.

But here in germany it is not possible to deaktivate the parental-control.
When a movie is classified with FSK, I must enter a 4 digits-Pin.
I'm very angry because my recording only contains the pin-windw of the box.

In the EPG-Data I've included the FSK-Code (there is for example the text FSK12).
This information should be sent to the channel changer. So Girda can send the pin-code and the recording is ok.

Is it possible to integrate this ?

A simple implementation should send one xmltv-element as parameter to the channel-changer.

A good implementation should recognise this pin-window and then send the pin-code.

I've created a simple Delphi-Program that get's every 5 seconds a WinTV-Screenshow. If there is a pin-Windows, it sends the pin-code.

This would be a killer-feature for all the german PayTV-User.

Thanks, Sebastian

  Always on Top?
Posted by: dirtboy - 2004-07-09, 02:39 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (12)

Thanks for the app my friend! Finally I can record all those episodes of Good Eats and burn them to DVD without MythTV. I was really getting frustrated with it.

One thing I would like to see is an "Always on Top" option, maybe on the right click menu when you right click on the taskbar icon. I like to have the pvr showing a TV when I am doing some work on the 'puter. It would be nice if the TV window stayed on top of other windows so I could still run them in focus with a little TV box in the bottom right corner on top, but out of focus. Did I explain that clearly?

  Net radio issues
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-07-07, 02:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Ok, few issues with net radio.

I'll start with the easy one, here's a list of currently "broken" default stations (and yes, I know it's not your fault I'm just bringing these to your attention so they can hopefully be fixed for the next release)

virgin radio
music one
groove salad
pirate radio
smoothjazz.com

Minor issue #2, radiostorm is listed twice for some strange reason, but with 2 listings, POP TOP40 and NOW! The net's hit music channel. But they both play the same thing, I don't get the point of that.

Ok now for the fun part, remember the old apostrophe bug? Well, now at the end of the song title on (almost) every station, guess what, there's an apostrophe! For example (from the "digitally imported" station):

Chicane feat. Marie Brennan - Salt Water'
Noemi - In My Dreams'

Those trailing ' don't belong there.

Ok, enough b-tching, add these to your list of things to fix [Image: biggrin.gif]

  What We Want Wishlist
Posted by: narkuma - 2004-07-06, 08:16 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

First of all: GBPVR is a great Job!

I will try not to make too many words. I guess the developers do not have too much time to read smalltalk.

Here is my wishlist (maybe some are already posted before. but I hope it may be useful)

- Do not delete the settings after deinstallation of GBPVR. Would make updates easier. Channel Settings should be saved anyway. Don't want to loose Weather location after update...etc...

-Add Scrollbars to the EPG Information in the TV Guide. It does not fit to the screen in many cases.

-Let the user decide when the EPG Update will be done. Not between 3:00 and 4:00 in the Morning.

-Make it possible to display EPG Infos on the screen while watching.

-A channel Search would be great... Today I must use another TV-Software to browse the channels

-A short description of all possible Keys to press. If possible OSD...

-A newsletter for the users (That's me!Wink. I would like to be informed when there is something new.

At last: Do You keep track of all the wishes? Do You have some kind of official Wishlist?
If You do NOT have it: I would offer to create one with a simple interface, so that Your moderators can simplay keep it up to date without double entries...
email me...

Thanx 4 everything.

Narkuma

  Bunch of failed recordings
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-07-06, 06:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I haven't looked at the PVR in several days due to the holiday here. Now I look and I have 7 failed recordings and I can't delete them. Running v0.18l, and this is the first time I've had this problem with 18l. Now what? [Image: smile.gif]
