not sure how easy this would be to, but would it be possible that a plugin running in the background could call a method within OSD to display a text message?
I was thinking with the email plugin, you can have it configured that every x minutes the email thread checks for new mail and then can send a message to the OSD if the user wants.
The weather plugin may be able to use it for storm warning alerts, etc.,
Currently, the four coloured buttons on the hauppage remote ( red green yellow & blue) are used to start a variety of hauppage apps.
Does anyone know of a way to reprogram one of these ( or preferably, the top right green power button ) to start GB PVR rather than the other apps.
I have tried to edit the irremote.ini file with a path to GBPVR against the relevent button, but I couldn;t get this to work
Usually after listening for a few hours, it'll just stop. Pick another channel, then go back to the one I was listening to brings it back. Is this normal?
Ok so this is kind of nitpicking. Perhaps if the GB logo were moved up the bottom panel in net radio could be expanded. Some of the titles on songs are getting cutoff. Perhaps if the bottom panel was wider this wouldn't happen. Just a thought
not sure if this has been covered before. What I want to do is to be able to create image buttons on the fly within a plugin. Ie. I don't know the text to be in the image buttons until run-time.
I'm not familiar with the .NET environment, but the only thing I can think of is to have a generic image button with no label. Then when its rendered on screen, simply do a DrawString of the text over the button, creating the effect of an already created button.
If this is a half-assed way of doing things and there is a simple and easy method of doing this, please point it out to me
When I play one MP3 song, everything is fine. When I start a second one when the first isn't finished yet, they play both at the same time! I expect the program to finish the first and start the second. Or am I wrong? Didn't test with videos yet!
I was wondering Sub, if you have the ability to put DVD playback for the Xcard in to GBPVR. I just got an Xcard and would love to have PVR and DVD playback in the same system. And while I'm at it, do you think MPEG4 would be out of the question?

I'm surprised not to see this anywhere in here, but since I'm about to buy a TV Card, I thought I would get some input as to who's card to buy or avoid.
Maybe from a cost/performance perspective.
Personally, cost is an issue since I'd like set up a system with a couple cards.
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a pixelview TV@P7000 card which apparently uses the Roslyn/blackbird chip and I noticed on the front page that it states GB-PVR supports the card. So I'm wondering if anyone has experience of the card and if so how well is it supported in GB-PVR i.e can I use the remote to control GB-PVR?
Thanks in advance.
I now have a rather large collection of movies/shows recorded.
The hauppage remote scrolling is quite slow ( the keyboard is fast )
the Folder organisation is great, but with a long list, its pretty still pretty slow.
at the simplest level, just using the numbers in a 'phone like' manner ( 1=ABC 2=DEF etc ) to jump alphabetically down the list.
better would be a autocompleting popup or temporary filter
ie start typing the name & it autocompletes with the matched name
