Im using PVR-350 with the S Video out to my television. For some reason I'm getting a blank screen when playing DivX files. Works fine on the computer screen. Do I need to set the codec to DivX somehow in GBPVR?
Hello,
I have come accross the following situation and I wonder if there is some idea as a workaround.
I have installed GBPVR v.15 on WinXP and WinTV on PVR-350(latest drivers)
It seams it works OK except from the following.
If I schedule a record at around 1:00 in the morning (using WinTV scheduler), it never starts.
( I am not in the position to tell you that I have search it a lot, because of Easter vacations - I have not checked your built-in recorder and it does not happen at other times of the day)...but I wonder...
I know that automatic updating of TVguide is done some time at night...but as I live in Greece I do not have this option(no xml here).
The question is:
1) do you think this "no recording" situation has something to do with automatic updating?
2) when updating is run?
3) Is it possible to disable it?
4) where can I find the command line options of GBPVR program?
Thanks in advance,
P.S. I wish you happy Easter.....
I unzipped it to the proper place, but it does not appear as a choice in the configurator. Looking at it closer, it is missing a 'main menu' directory. I suspect this is why it doesn't show up inthe configurator?
Currently gb-pvr imports the xml file automatically. Â I would like to see that extended to also run the xmltv app to get the xml file. Â Having it done with a windows scheduler or some other ad-hoc method seems prone to error and confusion.
Just want to make sure I have this straight.
(I'm in north america)
I run xmltv tv_grab_na --configure
xmltv creates a .conf file
I run xmltv tv_grab_na > whatever.xmltv
Then in gb-pvr configuration I point to whatever.xmltv
If this is correct, am I responsible for periodically updating the .xmltv file myself somehow so that it can get imported into gb-pvr at 3 or 4 am? Â Or am I missing a step?
Currently using a donor Celeron 500 machine with PVR350 which seems to work ok (apart from the odd crash mentioned in other post), but considering upgrading to the new Asus DigiMatrix.
I believe it comes with a "Life View FlyTV Platinum mini card" Â - the tuner is based on the SAA7135 chip. TV-Out is provided by the SiS315 graphics core and the SiS301 chipset.
Is there any reason why GBPVR would not work with this?
I left my computer on last night and was surprised this morning to find my HD completely full! I found a 20+ gigabyte file in my GBPVR recording directory which was obviously the cause, but the weird thing was that I did not have the GB-PVR application running. I did however find that the GBPVR RecordingService was still active.
Is it normal for GBPVR to "record" while GB-PVR isnt even running?
As I was installing the .15 release I noticed my .xml file is not being saved in the Configurations. Therfore every time I try to update my EPG, it gives an error obviously because it is not being pointed to my .xml file. I did notice that the devnz folder has read-only greyed in. So if you could tell me where this setting is saved so I could double check the file is not read-only that might do it.
I'm using gb-pvr mostly for playing my existing mpeg videos and also sometimes for playing a video that wintvcap is currently recording. I noticed that during playback gb-pvr does not know that file is growing. I'm using wintvcap separately from gb-pvr. I don't know if it makes a difference, but anyway it seems that gb-pvr checks the file length when starting the playback and stops after the time is achieved. So could it be possible to play video file even if it's ongoing recording?
First of all I would like to say that the program looks superb. If I could get this program to work properly, it would be great. One program that handles all my needs for my htpc.
Though I have one major problem. When watching live TV or a recorded program, and have enabled my PVR-350 TV-Out, the system freezes compleatly, just to hit the power-button.
My system:
