  Hauppauge remote
Posted by: arc25301 - 2004-05-31, 02:03 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I can only use some keys of my hauppauge remote.
It would by great to use the numeric keys in LiveTV to switch to another channel.

And it would be great to make an individual configuration, to define some hotkeys (e.g. jump directly to LiveTV from VideoLibrary)

  Another EPG Suggestion !
Posted by: dr_parky - 2004-05-31, 12:45 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi,

Something that would be great is to allow the use of categories.
I could envisage 2 ways to do this :-
1) Categorise Channels - you would see a list of categories, clicking on them , takes you to the EPG, but only shows the channels filtered by the category.
2) Categorise Programs - This could use the get category option of XMLTV , the user could choose the category and the EPG would then show the list of programs within a given range of dates that have this category.

Cheers

Mark

  EPG Suggestion
Posted by: dr_parky - 2004-05-31, 09:36 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hi,

Apologies If this has been asked for before.
Something I would find useful is a Time Bar going down the EPG, so that you could immediatly see the relevent rectangles in the EPG. (My wife is always selecting the wrong section and asking why she doesn't have the watch Icon available).

Cheers

Weather Plugin : Exits 2 Contacting Servers
Posted by: welshblob - 2004-05-30, 09:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi,
Just bought my first MediaMVP today and found your page and have been playing with it ever since. I'm having a problem with the Weather plugin. Everytime I select Weather from the menu it bounces me back to the "Contacting Servers" page and won't reconnect yet the GB-PVR MediaMVP service is still running. Restarting that service allows the box to reconnect. I'm using the latest version of the weather plugin, 2.2.1609.11627.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Rob
PS : GB-PVR is a great bit of software

  Xcard scart rgb output
Posted by: TurboJens - 2004-05-29, 08:09 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Since xcard supports rgb over scart, it would be a major advantage to be able to use it in GB-PVR.

I would also like to have more htpc functions, like Joveplayer Joveplayer Homepage

Update EPG doesn't remember Username and password
Posted by: FilterGraph - 2004-05-29, 12:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

When I manually try to update the EPG for zap2it, I have to reenter my username and password. Is this by design? I don't leave my machine on at night. I don't know if this a problem with automatic updates either.

  PVR-350 S-Video Out Problem
Posted by: Mdou - 2004-05-29, 07:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Just built my box using the PVR-350 & GBPVR and it was working great. Very happy to hear that when you put XP into hibernation it will wake up to record a scheduled program.
Set a test up & was very chuffed to see that the box woke up and was active but when I came back to watch the program I found that the mpeg file was 0k. [Image: sad.gif]

After some more tests I have found that the PVR-350 stops working correctly after hibernation (no S-Video out) and will only correct itself after a full reboot. The weirdest part is that the wintv2000 software has the same problem BUT the audio still works (i.e. when watching Live TV.)

Has anyone else had this or a similar problem?

  Playing m3u
Posted by: jeffcora - 2004-05-28, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi there Sub,

Could you possibly add the following to your development or to-do list (low priority obviously). I manage all my music and playlists through Media Player. What I've found is the .m3u's created or saved in Winamp work fine. However if they are created or saved within Media Player (and possibly other editors) they don't work. If I start one on the PC GBPVR end I get "Error: Index was outside the bounds of the array". At the MVP end, it resets.

I believe this is due to the slight differences in file formats. The WinAmp version doesn't have blank lines, the Media Player one does. GB-PVR doesn't seem to like these blank lines. i.e. this will work:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,15-Mysterious times (original mix) (sash).mp3
..\..\..\Various Artists\Kiss House Nation\Kiss House Nation (CD2)\15-Mysterious times (original mix) (sash).mp3
#EXTINF:0,01-[Flip & Fill] Shooting Star.mp3
..\..\..\Various Artists\Hands To Heaven\Hands To Heaven (CD1)\01-[Flip & Fill] Shooting Star.mp3

Re-save the same playlist in Media Player and it won't work on GBPVR

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,15-Mysterious times (original mix) (sash).mp3
..\..\..\Various Artists\Kiss House Nation\Kiss House Nation (CD2)\15-Mysterious times (original mix) (sash).mp3

#EXTINF:0,01-[Flip & Fill] Shooting Star.mp3
..\..\..\Various Artists\Hands To Heaven\Hands To Heaven (CD1)\01-[Flip & Fill] Shooting Star.mp3
<Another blank line>

If any blank lines are removed in notepad, including the extra one at the end, GB-PVR plays it again.

If this won't be too hard to correct, it would be great to correct it on a future release to prevent the MVP resetting everytime one of these files is selected.

Thanks, Rob

  XML update
Posted by: Crazyx - 2004-05-28, 10:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I'm having some problems with trying to do the xml thing automaticly. So what happens? I get my xml file in linux (i live in Belgium, and the only good program that i found that does this, only works in linux) automaticly every night at around 1am. It puts this in a directory that is "shared".

Then i made in my windows pc a directory mapping to that linux share. So that the file is available at "g:\tv.xml".

And then i pointed in config.exe from gbpvr to that file. And then i waited (actually slept Tongue ).
In the morning i found the error message that it couldnt find that file. (i thought that gbpvr always updates between 3-4am). When i did the importing manually with the same settings in config.exe, it worked completely fine though. And the file has as creation hour 1.01 am so that part worked good.

Does anybody know what the problem can be? I was thinking that the automicly update of gbpvr might not support drive mapping. Other then that i'm completely clueless. (and i cant do a lot of testing since i have to wait a day for every try).

  Good MPEG2 compressor?
Posted by: mikeg22 - 2004-05-28, 04:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm looking for a hopefully freeware MPEG compressor to compress files I am recording with GBPVR. It has to be command-line so I could schedule it. Any suggestions?
