  No TV out
Posted by: Ralph - 2004-04-09, 06:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm new to GBPVR and have just installed it with the instructions.
But i don't get any video to play neither live tv will show any picture. All i get ist the message "Video is playing back using TV out, Press 'Home' to return to the menu"
I tried different options with hardware and software decoder, but nothing changed.
Xmltv is finally imported and the channels all have been found in the config, but no video-picture?

Help would be great.
I'm still using myHTPC with an PVR 350 and it works. Just wanted to test GBPVR.

FFWD and RWD on MVP recordings
Posted by: pbj - 2004-04-09, 05:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sorry sub,

I've kind of lost the plot as to whether the FFDW and RWD should work for recordings on an MVP - nothing happends at the mo' (do I just need to be patient?).

Similarly skip seems to be exibiting strange behaviour. Each successfive skip seems to get larger (and the elasped time on the OSD seems to get a little confused). Eventually the MVP server crashes.

Don't mean to be demanding, just the software is so good the VCR doesn't exist anymore!

  Some small points...

Hi sub,

thanks for this nice piece of software! While playing around with GBPVR I noticed a few minor things that would be nice to have:

1. An option to delete files in the Video section

2. When you move down or up in the EPG the selection moves more and more to the left because you always select the program that contains the starting time of the currently selected program. If you would remember the middle of the program (and only update this value when moving left or right) and select the program that contains this value you would at least remain at more or less the same time

3. I spent a few hours trying to find out the correct channel settings for my cable [Image: smile.gif] for some reason the channel numbers that WinTV found were not the same I needed to enter in GBPVR. To solve this problem some sort of channel scan would be _really_ helpful. Maybe you could add this as an alternative to the 'Update EPG' button for a new capture source. The scan would then populate the source with the found channels. This way one could flip through the found channels and write down the channel name and ID.

Thanks again for GBPVR and keep up the good work!

  Scheduled Recordings

If Im watching live tv during a time when a scheduled recording is due to start, what will happen? Will it stop the live tv and start recording or will it cancel the scheduled recording?

  RamDisk
Posted by: jwells - 2004-04-08, 10:26 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

It might be good to separate the directories where the recordings and the capture for showshifting is done. I don't really like all the disk access going on while watching live tv and could use a 1 Gig ram disk for this (I think). If there were separate directories you have the option. Maybe the files could be dumped periodically to the hard drive as the ram disk filled up. There may be other advantages to making them separate besides the ramdisk.

  Bug in configurator
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-04-08, 05:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Under the Directories tab, I added a 'custom task' for a dvd decryptor executable. It worked fine until I changed the description field to :

Decrypts DVD's

When I pressed OK I got a unhandled exception:

Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression "Decrypts DVD's', hide_and_show='N' where oid=1'

My guess is, it didn't like the ' in the description [Image: smile.gif]

  Plugns and Skins
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-04-08, 03:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm starting to look at enhancing the current weather plugin. I want to add buttons and screens for current condition, extended forecast, tomorrows forecast, radar, and todays forecast. I think I have a grip on how to code it up. But do all the skins have to be modified to add the new buttons?

  Widescreen & AC3
Posted by: TypQxQ - 2004-04-08, 03:20 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Helo, I just discovered this piece of software while searching for a .net pvr program, as I'm a .net developer. I've been running JovePlayer on my X-Card for the last year and I was searching for something new last week, since then I've been trying to get MythTv to work as I want to.

Anyway, this program looks nice, BUT...

I can't find a setting to make it widescreen....

I use my pvr computer connected to a widescreen projector trough vga, and most of the DVD's an movies I have are widescreen. In all other programs there is a widescreen option, but I can't seem to find one here...

Also, JovePlayer is able to output all sound trough the SPDIF of the XCard, I can't seem to find any passtrough option for AC3. I guess this could be done with a DShow filter, but I´m not sure....

Anyway, great program, I'd love to do some plugins and stuff if I can get the basic functionality working...

If there is a way to pass trough the ac3 audio to a Live card, that would do [Image: smile.gif]

I just saw that u can resize the window and make it wider, if I'd be able to put the screen resolution.... I have to test this, anyway , great program!

(Why is it called GB-PVR?)

/Andrei
