WOW with quick question about Girder support...
Posted by: msm - 2004-01-29, 11:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

Just firstly wanted to say WOW, what a piece of software and thanks for taking your time to write this! I am currently a SageTV user, and while i find that program great I think yours is coming along fantastically. Something about not having the shackles of paying customers must enhance productivity - MythTV and now this [Image: biggrin.gif]

Secondly, is there a way to pass channel changes to Girder so i can perfrom canging changes on my cable box with my USB-UIRT. I understand this is low priority for you atm, but if there is anything i can do to help let me know!

Thanks
Matt

XMLTV EPG offset by one hour
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-01-29, 10:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have an issue where the EPG I am using is offset by one hour in the guide menu.

We have daylight savings here in Australia & I changed my date to disable the automatic daylight savings & adjusted the time but the guide was still incorrect.

the XLMTV app i am using (TV harvest  http://www.users.bigpond.com/OdGregg/ ) seems to have the times entered corrected against my system clock looking at the raw XML code

Could just be a problem with this harvester, but i am not familiar enough with the XMLTV spec to determine this.

If you want me to send you an example of the output, let me know

Chuck

LiveTV halts for long periods when left playing
Posted by: swadey - 2004-01-28, 02:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I left GB-PVR on last night for many hours (while I dozed off) and when I came back, playback was no longer in real time. I would get 1-2 second bursts of video+audio followed by 5-10 seconds of still screen. It seems to take 15-20 minutes of viewing before getting into this state.

Anybody else have similar problems? I'm using the wintvcap plugin for recording/viewing with the bitrate set @ 8.0 mbps VBR and the intervideo nonCSS software decoder.

The problem seems to be specific to GB-PVR as wintv2k doesn't seem to exhibit the same behaviour.

  EPG Update using XMLTV Automate
Posted by: swadey - 2004-01-28, 02:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I'm using XMLTV automate to update my tv listings files. I have it set up to auto update late at night, but it seems that the gbpvr recording service locks this file preventing xmltv automate from updating it. Is there anyway to avoid this problem? Do I have to manually stop the service before each update?

thanks,
wade

where to see which decoder has been used
Posted by: tranquil - 2004-01-27, 06:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I installed NVDvd Mpeg2 Codec to see if it gives better quality in Movieplayback on the PVR 350 Output but some movies did not run smooth eighter. The CPU usage is about 20% so I think any hardware is used but I dont know what hardware. The PVRs HW-decoder or the CLE266 HW-Decoder which is on my Via Epia M board!?

I selected the NVDVD coded in the configuration pannel but NVDvd shows no data traffic in the configuration pannel while playing a movie.

Is there any chance to check which codec is definitly used?

  Video Playback not realy smooth
Posted by: tranquil - 2004-01-26, 07:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello all!

I have some mpeg2 video streams with a high bitrate and they can not be played smoothly. It does not make fun to look them, is that a limitation of the Hauppauge decoder? the CPU utilization is less then 10% so the CPU seems to be fast enough.

Any ideas?

onboard TV out & PVR IN
Posted by: yucki - 2004-01-26, 11:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

before trying and blowing things up, does anyone sees a problem with:

Connecting the pundit TVOUT + stereo out to the PVR composite in ?

I expect to be able to "see" the desktop this way. Am I wrong?
Did anyone tried this before ? If it works, one could use only the PVR tvout, and software swtiching input. This way, the development of new features could be easier?

Or am I still dreaming ?  [Image: cool.gif]

Any way to set MPEG parameters?
Posted by: swadey - 2004-01-26, 06:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi all,

This looks really great now that I have things setup and working.

Is there a way to change the recording/LiveTV parameters? I try changing the profiles with the "edit" button when configuring the capture sources, but these buttons don't seem to do anything.

  My Whishlist :-)
Posted by: tranquil - 2004-01-23, 09:30 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hello all!

1.)

I would like to know, if it is possible to see a avi (divX for example) over the VPR 350 TV Out. :-) I dont know if this is possible while its not a mpeg stream, but possible it can be decoded by divx via cpu and encoded via the PVR again? :-))) Wired but only an idea.

2.) Show ID3 Tags in Music-Player.
2a.) support Internet Shoutcast Streams (via FMod?)
3.) Radio Tuner support with record possibillity :-)
4.) a message port to get information to external apps about what is happening atm. eg. playing music, tv channel - so that 3rd party developers are able to use a front case display to show some information

Thats all for now... now more Ideas yet, possible in the next 5 minutes. :-)

  INIT APPLICATION ERROR
Posted by: Guest - 2004-01-23, 04:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

During software installation, it does not appears the config window.
Then, when you try to start up the program, it does not load at all:

It says something about "Common Language Debuggins error Services" amd then, a process Id. Error which every time is different.

The first time I set up the software (ver 0.0.10), I didn't have installed the .net 1.1 Framework.
But i have loaded it, installed once more the GBPVR and it seems to be the same.

I have Win XP in Catalan (spanish regional language).

At last, I installed ver 0.0.8, and It's the same error once more.
