  EPG from Teletext?
Posted by: MaBo - 2004-02-06, 11:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi,
Now the new drivers for the hauppauge cards support teletext, wouldn't it be great to have the epg-data pulled from there. I don't have fast permanent internet access from my HTPC, but it is permanently connected to the TV-cable!

Most (or all) tv-stations have their programmes listed on their teletext site for the next five days or so. VTPlus can export these sites in text-format. Now the question is, does anyone know of, or is able to program a that converts these text files into (simple) wmltv files?

  Can GB-PVR launch other programs?
Posted by: rampy - 2004-02-06, 02:32 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I was wondering if you can use GB-PVR to launch additional programs, for example, MAME or a MAME frontend [Image: biggrin.gif]

Will that type of stuff be easy to implement to the main menu with the API/SDK you are working on?

Thanks!

Rampy

  Additional Main Menu Item
Posted by: Guest - 2004-02-05, 06:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Sub,
Would it be possible to add an additional button on the Main Menu screen. Whether it is visible or not could be controlled by a check box in the configurator. If the button is visible, when you click on it, it would pass control to a web address on the server. My use would be for a Home Automation Browser. With the browser running I could check status of things in the house and control such things as lights, HVAC, ... Hopefully, this could be made to work from the MediaMVP client as well as the PC client. This way GB-PVR could be the GUI for everything in the house.

Thanks,

Bryan

  Windows Service Start Failure
Posted by: tjetta - 2004-02-05, 05:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello,

When I'm (re)starting the Recording Service, a popup shows up which says:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]
Cannot start service from the command line or a debugger. A Windows Service must first be installed (using installuril.exe) and then started with the ServerExplorer, Windows Services Administrative tool or the NET START command.
Also, an errors shows up when pressing the 'Live TV' button:
[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]
Failed to communicate with the GB-PVR Recording Service. This software is possibly not running. After rebooting, try again.

What to do!? [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks in advance,
Frank

  IR200L and Directv problems
Posted by: motogib - 2004-02-05, 04:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a directv receiver that requires an enter key to be pressed after entering a 3 digit channel. the setup on snapstream allows you to configure the delay between key presses, number of presses of the key and an enter button to finish the command string up. without this i can't really use GBPVR as this is my only TV input is there a way to work around this manually in the IR control file? can i use codes form snapsteam for enter etc or does it require reprogramming of GBPVR? thx much

  Integrated DVD player
Posted by: msm - 2004-02-05, 03:23 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

I would love to see a DVD player integrated into this program. How hard would this be to do? It already reads the correct format, so i suppose it would be a matter of reading the correct files in the correct order, or something lie that [Image: biggrin.gif]. I suspect its pretty obvious i have no idea of whats involved, but it would still be nice as part of the integrated package that GBPVR offers.

Cheers,

Matt

  Showcenter and GBPVR
Posted by: motogib - 2004-02-04, 11:34 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Well GBPVR rocks and i'v egot it running on MediaMVP as well. Navigation seems to be a bit iffy at times but overall great. I'd really like to use GBPVR with my Pinnacle Showcenter box as well because it does a great job with DIVX and Xvid. I've taken to reencoding all my 8G directv shows into 1G DIVX 5 and they look great but of course can't play them on the MediaMVP. Well I know this is way down the list but it would be great to get DIVX functionality in a media box off GBPVR.
thx for the great job so far!

  What is GB-PVR?

I have the MediaMVP. Just stumbled onto this forum. Basically, what is GB-PVR and what do you need, besides the mediamvp unit?
