  GB-PVR with XLOBBY Frontend
Posted by: steele - 2004-02-04, 01:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi graeme

Just found GB-PVR, makes me wonder how I missed it. I am buying a epia MII600 mobo and pvr350 card and was browsing for some nice software and look where I ended up!!!

I am a big fan of XLOBBY, which I imagine many of you might never of heard of. Look at http://www.xlobby.com, looks very similar to GB-PVR, but

XLOBBY is great (for me) because of its pocket pc support (if you own one), the music/jukebox features, pictures section and internet browser, but its crap for the pvr section unlike GB-PVR which excels in this.

Question 1,

Could I have GB-PVR pvr's function only, is it possible to delete the other sections that work but don't have the same level of functionality yet like xlobby? Sounds cruel and harsh I know.

Question 2,

What EPG software is best and how oftern do you need to connect to internet to update?

Kind regards

steele

ps do you take donations for all your hard work?

  DTT and MediaMVP?? Please!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: tellyaddict - 2004-02-04, 11:54 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Big Congratulations on a Brilliant Achievement! Thanks!

I've been using gbpvr for a couple of days now, and I'm hooked. My set-up allows for recorded tv programmes, etc, to be relayed via the MediaMVP to the family television. Gb-pvr is already leaps and bounds beyond Hauppauge's efforts - bravo.

Unfortunately, I do not possess a WinTV PVR card - all the programmes on my PC arrive from Freeview via either a Nebula DigiTv or HP Nova-t card.

If live/paused tv support for the (nova) card via the MVP could be implemented I would be a very happy bunny.

Thanks again. [Image: smile.gif]

OK, I can't for the life of me get SHSPVR .011 to work. I was away for two weeks, so I watched .010 go by, and when I got home I saw .011 just came out. I installed over .09 and had the "can't connect to service..... " problem. I thought it might be residual settings, so I uninstalled and deleted the dir on c:\ for the program, restarted, etc......... I then reinstalled and set every thing up using DirectRecord. I can get the interface in windows or on the MVP, that's no problem. It's when I try to launch a show from the guide or livetv, I get the "can't establish connection with the service....." error.
I even downloaded WinTVcap from sourceforge and instaled it. I then pointed the config for GBPVR to the executable. Now when I launch livetv I get the following

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

Any info on this?

  v0.12 available for download
Posted by: sub - 2004-02-04, 12:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

By popular demand I've uploaded a version which should address the blocky font with the MVP client. You can download it from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup012a.exe

From the release notes:
- Fixed blocky font appearance on MVP
- Fixed the MVPOffsetY which wasn't working in the last release.
- Now gracefully handling the MVP disconnect/reconnect/poweroff/poweron etc.

Hi Sub,

Are there any plans to add support for thee Adaptec Videoh! USB card? (2210) It seems like nobody has added support for this capture device. It does a great job with MyDVD, but I would like to use it with other software that I can set a recording time up.

Thanks for your help,

  Digiguide support

As ananova's gone and rt is short on details is it possible to support digiguide?

If not directly then possibly support external inputs to programme the scheduler?
