Just installed the latest version.

What does that mean ?
I run XP and .NET 1.1 is installed.
Can someone post a picture of how they use .my files (and mp3 playlists too) in gbpvr? I've struggled with .my files and haven't ever looked at playlists - what tools create them?
I have been playing with VideoLan for the last couple of days and it is fun. Especially as i can stream from my desktop to my laptop and connect the laptop to the tv. You can stream files, dvd, etc.
One limitation of videolan at present is it cannot stream live-tv on a windows platform.
This concept may not fit into the GB-PVR roadmap but i'm curious to see what others think about this. I'm not sure what the benefits would be but i do like the idea of being able to stream live tv, dvd, mpeg, etc.
Just so you know - If you bring up the display properties for you desktop and go to the Appearance tab, click effects, and check the font smoothing option, your fonts show come up much cleaner in GB-PVR. This allow GB-PVR to anti-alias fonts.
It may be my lack of knowledge of the .my file structure and what gbpvr can currently do, but I would like to see more configuration than I can currently do at the moment and some changes - some examples:
per folder configuration between icons and lists
able to define text above and below the icon
use tag information from the files themselves
select by genre, artist, etc.
use the WMP cover art (hidden folder.jpg file) rather than default.jpg (or define which)
differnt way to go back a folder (rather than the "previous directory" icon
able to show text about the album/album cover, track list etc. formatted instead of taken from directory listing
None of these are high priority, but would make the navigation experience much nicer
I have just installed the 008 beta. In the configuration I have selected direct recording and composite source, however I only get audio when running LiveTV.
In WinTV2000 list 6 Input sources: Tuner, Composite, Composite2, Composite3, S-Video/Composite and S-Video/Composite2. To get audio and video in WinTV2000 I need to select Composite2. Selecting Composite only give me audio.
In GB-PVR configuration there is only one option for Composite. How can I select the source that correspond to Composite2? Â (SageTV also list 6 sources and I have to select the second Composite).
While GB-PVR is not currently open source, I want to let you all know that I do have the intention of enabling developers to write their own plugins. The frameworks is inplace, but I need some time to get samples ready and comment it a bit further. Other things are higher on the priority list.
I've used these frameworks to develop many of the plugins that already make up GB-PVR.
You'll be able to write you own components, that implement the interfaces I'll supply for:
- Menu Tasks for hanging off the front page
- Channel Changers (I've already implemented Actisys IR200L, USB-UIRT, .EXE - but serial control of some settop boxes would be useful)
- Recording Sources. I've implemented one which is a wrapper of WinTVCap, and one which implements its own direct recording using the Hauppauge filters. Others may choose to implement recorders for other types of hardware, ie ATI All-In-Wonder etc.
- EPG sources. I've implemented XMLTV. In future another source of listing information my be found (or possibly purchased).
- and something else I cant remember...
I can't wait to test this with my Media MVP and PVR 350.
I have the latest drivers installed from SHS's website, and I can do output with Wintv200, so I know my card is working.
I installed your latest version of the beta 0.8?, and when I try to launch anything, settings, GB-PVR, or the Media MVP Server, I get an error dialogue box stating:
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x198(408), Thread id=0x240(576).
Click OK to terminate the application
Click CANCEL to debug the application.
I have XP SP1 with all the latest updates. Do I need Sun Java or something?
Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for being a n00b
When I try to play an mpeg recorded from my pvr, or even that black.mpg you include with the software I always get an error. First i get a dialog box titled "Error!" with the caption "An invalid alignment was specified" then I get a second box titled "Info" labeled "RenderFileToVMR9 failed" any idea whats going on? The bizarre thing is that playing a different MPEG file.
Also I'd like to know why the OSD is ultra pixilated (text/ images)when playing a file. I have a screenshot, unfortunately no where to upload it to
