  OTA Stations Not Viewable
Posted by: snaitaz - 2019-02-03, 05:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Good day...I have been using a Hauppauge Quad Tuner for some time now with no issues until today. IPTV channels are working fine as I can view and record. However, I cannot record nor view OTA channels. Using SD as my EPG source and only the OTA is not working in NPVR correctly. NPVR recognizes the quad tuner device and I have setup the tuner which indicates my local channels. Is there anything I can do? TIA...cheers!!

  IPTV Pretuning and Internet Radio
Posted by: mvallevand - 2019-02-03, 05:00 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

Hi sub, can the pretuning .exe for IPTV modify the URL in the database? Also you posted the URL for IPTV can be internet radio. If the guide is flagged radio does it matter what video codec is selected when adding the URL?

Finally I think I posted this before and couldn't find it If under the channels guide a station is set as Radio, would it be possible to filter out any video streams preferably at recording time or on streaming to Kodi.

Thanks.

Martin

  Locast support
Posted by: dave87769 - 2019-02-02, 03:34 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I was wondering if there's any support or other interest in supporting Locast as a source instead of a tuner.

While I live near NYC, there's no reception available in my cul de sac due to the geography.

Thanks guys,
Dave

  IPTV Recordings failing
Posted by: jlquinn - 2019-02-01, 06:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I'm trying to use the scheduled recordings feature to record shows from my IPTV service to my PC. It automatically starts on time but, the recordings run for a minute or so and then fail every time. There's no error displayed. I looked at the logs and don't see anything obvious (to me, at least) that's causing the problem. I was recording to an external USB 3.0 hard drive. I switched over to the internal SSD but it didn't help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any tips or tricks to improve (reduce pixelation) recorded show playback
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2019-02-01, 06:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I have NPVR setup to record our shows and we watch them back through Roku/Plex on our TVs. All signals received are well in the 90s...I think the lowest signal I get is 88. More often than not, when we watch through Plex there is an annoying amount of pixelation, and often times audio dropout during those moments as well. All shows are recorded to a USB drive but the same results are experienced when I record to an internal drive too.

If I play the recorded show back on the computer, it may momentarily stutter/pause in the same sections but overall the playback is smoother than when streaming to our Plex TVs. I am obviously getting getting interference from somewhere during recording and would like any ideas on how I can improve the signal/recording, if possible.

I don't watch live tv through NPVR but when I test it, it seems to play fine.

Thanks,

Add a conflict notification to the Recordings screen?
Posted by: HarryH3 - 2019-02-01, 02:52 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Recording conflicts have become so rare that we hardly ever look at the Conflicts screen. Would it be possible to add a notification message, icon, etc. on the Recordings and What's New screens that would alert us when a Conflict needs to be resolved?

X-NEWA Web Client Not Acting On Keypresses
Posted by: BrettB - 2019-02-01, 01:30 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (4)

OK, Martin. Here's another one of those oddities I'm seeing sometimes. (Note, this one happens much less frequently but has been happening for a while.)

Here are the logs.

At the end of the the kodi.log (in the Logs folder), I pressed the right arrow and then the pause button several times. It seems the button press is being passed to the NextPVR server because when I press the pause, the OSD comes up for a little bit. However, the player doesn't actually respond to the button press. So for the right arrow, the play doesn't skip forward. And for the pause, the video just keeps playing.

EDIT: I've also noticed that when this happens, commercial auto-skipping doesn't work. See 07:30:04 in this updated kodi.log.

  Weird Question // Cutting Commercials
Posted by: rowle1jt - 2019-02-01, 03:47 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

My old DVR finally gave up the ghost, I think the board went south but it was a good excuse to get some much more power efficient hardware in place. My dilemma now is how to cut commercials from a bunch of movies that were recorded before I re-encode from TS over to MP4 files. I would like to have them cut and removed, so that when they are played in Plex there is no commercials at all. I have the most recent version of paid comskip, and I've tried videoredo but can't seem to figure it out. I've tried comclean but it doesn't seem to want to touch TS files or MP4's.

I'd like to do this in batch/automated mode so I don't have to manually pull commercials, etc. I've read that videoredo can use the comskip files, and it can call videoredo from the batch file. I just can't seem to figure it out and I'm hoping someone much smarter than myself has been through this before.

I'm fine running them through comskip again if needed. I'm even ok running them all through handbrake prior if needed.

Any help is appreciated so, thank you in advance!

  X-NEWA Web Client Crashing
Posted by: BrettB - 2019-01-31, 01:10 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (2)

I've been experiencing a few cases of weird behavior with X-NEWA (running under Kodi on an RPi 3+) recently. Since Martin is working on X-NEWA a bit at the moment, I'm going to try to capture logs and post them. I did just upgrade to X-NEWA 2.5.4, but these problems were occurring with X-NEWA 2.5.3 before, so I don't believe that the change to 2.5.4 is related. I've been running the latest LibreElec betas, so I realize that might be part of the problem. Currently, I'm on LibreElec v 8.95.003.

One of the problems that happens somewhat frequently is that X-NEWA will just crash and Kodi will go back to the main menu. This happened just now at 06:42:30. I've uploaded logs here.

Let me know if you need anything else or want me to try anything.

No Errors, but no data delivered...
Posted by: drmargarit - 2019-01-31, 03:05 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have seven tuners (all silicondust) , four of which can record off air and three that record off Comcast cable and yet every week I get this error on a channel that all seven tuners can capture. Does NPVR try a different tuner when it gets a failed lock or does it just give up when the first try fails?
