to show in the settings of NPVR. I have tried both available version's of driver, both of which installed fine and the device was shown in device manager.
The device works on a windows 7 machine and has done for a long time. I don't remember doing anything special to install it and from what I understand from reading the wiki it should be basically plug and play.
Although my Nextpvr recordings menu indicates it will record any new episodes at any time of day, when i view the Kodi Timer Rules they indicate recording will occur only during very specific times eg 21:00 to 22:00.
It takes about 3 minutes from starting Kodi up before being able to watch Live TV as it takes an age to read in the data from the NextPVR server. It pauses for about 1 minute before doing anything, this is on FireTV. I can try on the same on MrMc (Kodi fork) and it is reasonably fast. Anyone know why?
It would be nice if on Settings->TV->Guide->Update Interval, it also had 'Update Time', so when Kodi starts up it can check the last time it read EPG data in (see date on epg11.db) and determine based on Update Time & 'Update Interval' if it actually needs to re-read it in or use the cache. EPG only updates once a day so there's no need. I'd set it to 6:30am with interval of 1440 minutes (24 hours). I appreciate this though is probably a Kodi change
I'm not sure why but I have been having a lot of problems of late with NPVR. I have had a number of shows that just stop in the middle of the show with the image frozen, if the system recovers the audio and video are often out of sync momentarily and sometimes until the show ends. I was using LAV filters, I tried ffsshow and I am now using LAV for MPEG-2 and AC3Filter for audio. I watched two show I recorded yesterday after the switch and so far so good. However, I continue to have NPVR just shutdown in the middle of a show.

The program NextPVR.exe version 1.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

I've also attached my logs.
In an attempt to correct the issue I have done a clean install of Windows 10 Home Edition, reinstalled NPVR but didn't want to lose my scheduled recordings, etc so prior to the Windows install I backed them up to the D: drive then copied back to original location on C: drive and reinstalled NPVR. I've removed and reinstalled the Hauppauge drivers for my WIN-TV QuadHD PCIe TV Tuner.
I'm not really sure NPVR is at fault vs being affected by something else but I'm hoping someone will see something I've missed that can help.
I'm thinking of buying a TBS6909 satellite card with 8 tuners and I wondered if anyone had used one. As it has 8 tuners but only 4 coax connections I wondered if there were any issues using it with NextPVR?
I have searched the forums but I think I might not be searching for the right name. Is that a file that stores all the EPG data? I download from Schedules Direct. Can I open the guide data in a XML and search or is it a proprietary or encrypted file?
Where is Metadata stored for existing recordings after npvr.db3 purges old shows?
I think the software is working correctly, but I want to know so I can avoid losing metadata.
I am set for EPG updates at 2:30 a.m., but my computer is usually off at night. Still, the npvr.db3 is adding new shows and purging old shows (less than a day old) regularly. I have used a SQLite viewer to check this.
Once every several days, I click on "Export Recordings" in Settings to get metadata save to recording-backup.xml for my recordings that I haven't removed. That file rarely updates unless I click Export Recordings. This export has occasionally missed metadata for some recordings, I maybe deleted something to have caused that.
I have set <StoreSeparateMetadataXml>true</StoreSeparateMetadataXml> in config.xml.
I get a XML file with metadata for each recording, but they are missing cast and crew members which will show up in recording-backup.xml .
I am running NextPVR 4.2.3(181112) on Windows 10 Pro 64bit (Version 1803).
I am not running anything with NextPVR like Kodi or Plex. I am just manually moving recordings and metadata.
I have heard of NextPVR archiving reature but have not used it.
Let me know where to post log? I am from Houston, TX and my ISP is Comcast I did repaired cable card few times so they said everything is fine but NextPVR caused some channels unable to showing so I am here to help you to help others by trying to get some channels working sometimes I tune not working or freeze after 2-3 seconds.
Channels that not working are: Oxygen, Fuse TV (removed from Comcast & Verizon lineup since December 2018), USA Networks. I hope to see these working through NextPVR. Let me know what to do to post logs?
I have added another set of IPTV channels on top of the channels I already had. I now have Vaders IPTV (from before) and have added The Beast IPTV.
The channels from Vaders IPTV work fine. However, the channels from The Beast IPTV are all jittery and choppy (both audio & video). Not watchable and sometimes the video just stops all-together. Also, when you click on the channel, it takes a while for the video to show up. The audio usually starts playing for couple of seconds before the video starts.
I have attached a log file for your reference. I believe the first two channels in the log are from Vaders and the rest from The Beast.
For your information, the Beast IPTV works fine on other platforms such as VLC Player, Android, etc...
Appreciate if you can take a look and let me know how I can fix the issue.
I just downloaded 4.2.3 to replace an old 3 series version (which worked fine) and rebooted. Now when I launch the software and click Live TV, the program immediately hangs up for 10 or 15 seconds and then crashes.
