I'm a new user to NextPVR. I'm very happy so far but I'm having a big issue with the web server service, whether it be browser or android app.
Basically, I can start up NextPVR, open up the web portal and jump around from "scheduler" tab and "recordings" tab cause i guess its not much a strain on the software, but the second I jump to "Now" to see the listing of channels or "guide" to see the guide, the thing will hang for a couple of seconds and then if I hit refresh or try to jump to another page, its dead and returns a "this site cannot be reached" like the server is down.
The same thing largely happens with the Android app too, although it crashes even faster in that case.
I'm running the server on Win10 on a SSD. The channels are IPTV channels.
When I'm in the NextPVR client itself, things seem to work fine, although I haven't actually really tried since this whole web server part started, since ive been focused on that.
Repost due to me putting it in the wrong place before...
Apologies if this has already been queried, I did try and find another mention of it.
Since upgrading to 4.2.3, I'm getting excessive memory use from ndigitalhost when nextpvr is idle. Last time I caught it at 900mb and this time around 700mb. Restarting the recording service seems to solve it temporarily.
I've attached a screengrab of task manager and my log files... anybody else seen this?
Having lots of trouble with multiple clients accessing the same NVPVR Server and very slow to load m3u/xmltv data.
HTPC
Windows 10
Kodi - Latest Nightly
All machines Hardwired, 60mb/s on Fast.com
3.3.11 NextPVR Client installed.
When loading the m3u/xmltv from the IPTV simple client it takes seconds to go through and load the channels and guide. The NextPVR PVR Client takes almost 25 minutes to complete.
I have filtered the xmltv to only 344 channels with EPG data, and a total of 700 channels for IPTV.
Using the NextPVR Client PVR:
If 1 HTPC is on and kodi is loaded with PVR Manager and all data is loaded, all channels tend to work properly. No buffering, no skipping, continuous play.
As soon as a second box is turned on, kodi loaded, streaming starts to skip on the one, then stops, then wont load the channel again, Kodi crashes causing a restart.
Second box will need a clear all data, NPVR will need a restart of recording service, and the second box will start to stream properly.
If any other box is turned on and Kodi loaded, same cycle as above. I cannot have all HTPC's on accessing the same NPVR server.
Recording works perfectly fine through all this and doesnt buffer/skip.
When NVPR is disabled and IPTV Simple Client enabled with same m3u/xmltv links, no problems on any machine. All can watch the same channel with no issue.
What is best practice in this situation for multiple machines?
Is NextPVR capable of doing this?
I used to put a folder.jpg in the directory with the recorded film when French nmes were not understood to find the correct jacket. But with the App it does not work
When I do a pause I can move the timing bar where I want, and start again , but after playing for a period of time , stopping again with a new pause shows the previous time where we paused, same for the timing bar.
I need to search again with the timing bar , using a dicothomic approach where I really stop
I have the device detected and have updated EPG listings in the channels tab, but when I go over to the nextPVR app and go to TV Guide it doesn't show any TV listings. I am using this in XP, is this why?
I often record shows on the same channel one after the other. In both cases I have a 10 min buffer at the beginning and end of the shows. Usually these shows can use the same tuner during the period of overlapping . However sometimes they use two tuners preventing me recording another show at the same time. Is there some way I can force NextPVR to record the same show on the same tuner. For example:
5:00-5:30 Show1 it records on tuner 1 between 4:50 - 5:40
5:30-6:00 Show 2 (same show as Show 1 but a different episode) force it to record using tuner 1 5:20-6:10
5:30-6:00 Show 3 a different show on a different channel. Record on Tuner 2 5:20-6:10.
Is there a way to share EPG from one channel to a different channel? I tried cloning the channel.epg node but it didn't work, are there any workarounds. Example below as Channel 4 HD is NOT on OTA EPG:-
original channel.epg node in Channel 4 HD replaced by
I have a HDHomeRun and run NextPVR on a WIndows 10 machine. All channels (that I watch, anyway) work normally with both applications except one. This one channel (Veronica through Ziggo in the Netherlands) is fine when viewed with the HDHomerun app but gives just a black screen in NextVPR while watching live and a 0 bytes file when recording. Anyone has an idea what's going on?
