Just a thought, would it be possible to add a web radio stream as an IPTV source.
If so, how would I format an m3u8 file that NextPVR would accept it? I've been trying to find an example of one, but I haven't had much luck. All the examples via Google are for local files.
There's a station I like which has a very fixed weekly schedule, I could easily write a script to make an XMLTV guide for it. Could I store this locally?
I have noticed that new recordings are not updated within kodi automatically. I have to reboot kodi in order for the recordings update. Is this normal or am I missing something.
There are a few glitches in the way NPVR handles Artwork Downloads.
Having found I had almost 2GB of Artwork - A lot of it just garbage - I have decided to clear out and start again, after decommissioning imagegrablite.
First problem. In the Artwork settings screen the Preferred Artwork Language dropdown will not stay populated after closing settings - I have tried adding it to config.xml (<PreferredArtworkLanguage>English</PreferredArtworkLanguage>) which may work -, but the dropdown list remains blank. (Using NextPVR.exe dated 28-09-2018 19:13)
Second problem. When a Program name has a Colon in it, NPVR strips it out of the Folder and File Name. It then replaces it in the artwork filenames with an underscore (also in the -catalogue.xml) The poster then displays OK, but the fanart will remain blank (using show metadata screens in Videos and Recordings) unless the underscore is removed from the file name.
Previously Show details were in a [Showname].xml and the Artwork File details (Poster Fanart Banner) in a [Showname]-catalog.xml - Now they now appear to be combined in the -catalogue file, with the show details under the artwork paths - is this the expected behavior?
I think there is also still a problem with the handling of [...] at the end of a truncated show name, but I cant find an example at the moment.
With the new TV season, I've noticed that one recording has consistently failed. Since I wasn't watching it regularly, I didn't notice it. Other recordings are fine.
Poking around, several channels don't tune with live tv. May be coincidental, but they are higher numbered channels.
Windows 10 latest edition, NPVR 4.2.2, running HDHR Prime latest firmware 20180921 with Default BDA compatibility. The HDHomeRun application tunes fine for all available channels. Windows firewall completely disabled.
Previously when I was researching tuners, I found reviews that the Quatro was glitchy at the time, which led me to go with the Connect. Anyone who's using the Quatro, has the glitchy stuff been basically dealt with?
One of the TV shows that I have recorded for years has stopped recording successfully. I currently am only recording 2 shows, 1 on Monday (Bull), and another (Modern Family) on Wednesday.
On Monday, the computer wakes, and the show (Bull) records without issue. On Wednesday, the computer wakes at the proper time, but I can't tell that anything happens after that. I have a script that verifies the the NRecord service is running. The logs indicate that the computer wakes up, but then never records Modern Family. This has happened for every instance of Modern Family this season; the wake timers are set, the computer wakes up, but then nothing happens. Other shows appear to record without issue, even on the same channel.
Thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Everyone hates commercials in the house and now want to record there shows, unless a sporting event no one watches live TV in the house. I have gotten my setup pretty perfect on a new server build running on an i3 8100, no more artifacts or anything (other than the random recording glitch yesterday). My concern now is HDD I/O limitations, at what rate does NextPVR record at?
Most often I have 2 tuners recording at the same time like to increase and usually everyone waits to watch until after the recording i finished, but on rare occurrences we have started watching the recording about 20 minutes into the recording (to skip commercials) and it hasn't caused any noticeable problems. What I want to know is am i looking at possible problems as demand increases if things are being record and watched at the same time, am i hammering my HDD?
Note the random glitch from yesterday was not caused by watching the recording while being recorded.
