IPTV password changed, now NextPVR Live TV displays a 403 error
Posted by: XC-3730C - 2018-11-12, 06:54 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I have NextPVR set up as a DVR on my Windows 10 PC. My password to my IPTV service changed, and now NextPVR says it is unable to find my capture device, and the remote server returned an error 403. When I go to the NextPVR settings, I can see my IPTV Device listed in the Devices section.

What can I do to resolve this? I can't find anywhere in the settings to change the password.

  Timeshift playback is choppy
Posted by: JoeTalker - 2018-11-12, 03:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

My capture device is Hauppauge PVR 2, its content is displayed beautifully on NextPVR. However, pausing and then playing results in really hideous chopped display. Audio is fine. I have found settings for CODEC and display, but nothing for timeshift or recording. I will attempt to change the Decoding options, and continue to look for any Encoding options, which I can't find in Settings. Decoding Codecs and Encoding CODECs are the same? All Video Decoders (MPEG2, H.265, etc.) are currently set (from Setup install) as LAV Video Decoder. A Microsoft DTV Decoder is available as well, along with an ArcSoft Video Decoder. The Hauppauge WinTV 8 works very well for recording and pause buffer, not choppy at all, and its Settings have a "Enable 3rd Party Decoders" option unchecked, with a greyed out "ArcSoft Video Decoder chosen for H.264. If WinTV 8 is using some other Codec (as the 3rd party Codecs is unchecked), I don't see what that might be. Thanks for any guidance finding or choosing whatever Codec or setting may be required to have the NextPVR timeshift and general Record display a clear picture. Cheers!

sub, looks like the version number stays at 4.2.2 and the upgrade popup still comes up.

You can download 4.2.3.181112 from https://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup_4_2_3_181112.exe

This is a fairly minor release, rolling the patches posted for 4.2.2 into the main release. See next post for some comments on the future versions of NextPVR.

Please post any support issues in the support forum. Support questions posted in this thread will be deleted.

  random crashes
Posted by: kirschey - 2018-11-12, 01:15 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

My NPVR application seems to randomly crash at times. Yes, I know my system is old, but I cannot figure out why.

Thank you.

Thank you,

  Logo match to channel problem
Posted by: Bobins - 2018-11-10, 09:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I seem to have a couple of Logos that don't show with the channel

For example I have a "Hits Radio" channel and a "Hits Radio.png" file in the Radio Logo directory but the logo doesn't show in the guide.
I've double checked the channel name matches the logo .png file, even edited the names to make sure but it still doesn't display.
99% of the logos do.

What criteria are used to match channel to logo file?
Anyone else had/solved this problem. (Nothing in the logs gives a clue)

Thanks.

Android app looks like a beta
Posted by: dcol - 2018-11-09, 11:38 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (13)

The Dev should be ashamed to put out such an incomplete product, then expect to charge $6.99 for it.
You can't record, the guide info is incomplete, navigation is horrible, no usable screen options, no startup options, and there haven't been any updates or improvements since it came out over a year ago.

Looks like some kid threw an app together. Google should throw this app off the store.

NextPVR is an awesome product, this app is not worth your time or money. IMO

How to sort TV guide by channel
Posted by: bass_gas - 2018-11-09, 10:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Channel listing under "settings, channels' is in numerical order. When I bring up the TV guide they are helter skelter. How do I sort in numerical order,i.e. 4,5,6,7,8 etc.
