  TV Listings Failing on Execution
Posted by: snaitaz - 2018-09-18, 04:37 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (4)

G'day...I have copied folders TV Listings and TV Recordings form the zip file into C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Skin\Default. I have also copied the TV Listings folder into C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins. I have left everything to their respective default settings and no joy on executing the TV Listings menu option. The TV Recordings menu option works just fine. What I do get when clicking on TV Listings menu option is a quick slide out flash of the menu grid (i.e. TV Guide, Recordings, Live TV, etc.). I have included the log file as well. Thanks you in advance for your assistance. Cheers!

  Blurry Motion on Live Broadcast
Posted by: lemmy999 - 2018-09-17, 02:48 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I have:

HDHomeRun Connect DUO HDHR5-2US
nextPVR on a Windows 7 PC
NVIDIA Shield with Kodi/nextPVR connected to a Panasonic Plasma TV
(wired gigabit network)

Last week I recorded a Fox football game on my PC using nextPVR and also about 30 minutes of NBC's Sunday Night Football. Both looked great when played back on my TV using Kodi and on my PC in nextPVR. But last night I recorded SNF again and I started watching the recording on my TV from the beginning about 90 minutes in to the recording. Everything was great except for fast motion which was really blurry. Fast action during commercials looked fine. I thought it was an issue with watching while recording but I waited until it was finished and it was still the same result. I tried another Shield connected to another TV and it was the same. I also tried VLC on the Shield and it was the same. But the recorded broadcasts from the previous week looked great.

So I assumed something had been wrong with the broadcast, but then I watched the recording using the nextPVR program on my PC and the fast action looked ok. If it is some setting or issue with my setup I would think the other recordings would look bad. If it was an issue with the broadcast I would think it would look blurry on the PC as well. So I have no idea what could be the source of this. Thanks for any suggestions

Self-contained end-to-end port of NextPVR to Linux - eg Raspberry Pi
Posted by: martinu - 2018-09-17, 12:07 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

I gather that NextPVR can be used as a front-end to TVheadend running under OSMC or KODI on a Raspberry Pi.

But how about porting the full end-to-end functionality of NextPVR to RasPi, to avoid the rather clumsy and temperamental UI of TVHeadend - eg its PVR is displayed as an event list rather than as a time-versus-channel grid. And the ability to edit individual channels and to support multiple decoders with intelligent allocation of overlapping scheduled recordings to the available tuners.

I'd much rather use NextPVR than a cobbled-together mix of some front end (eg NextPVR or KODI) and TVheadend as a backend. On Windows, NextPVR does it best, and it would be nice to have the same solution for a Raspberry Pi, as a lower-power alternative to leaving a Windows PC running 24/7. In my request to add the proper grid EPG in TVheadend, I've just cited NextPVR as the definition of how to do the job properly :-)

I'm not bothered about the programme-watching capabilities of NextPVR (other than for a quick confidence test that Live TV is working and that a scheduled recording is working OK) because I don't use these - I play everything through VLC since this has the ability to play at speeds other than real time, and to turn subtitles on and off more easily.

  Subtitle Offset
Posted by: jrockow - 2018-09-16, 02:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Is there a way to change (on the fly) the subtitle delay/offset similar to what's available in KODI?

  Control Key less control
Posted by: mvallevand - 2018-09-15, 07:00 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I would like to see a way for NextPVR to be controlled with one hand, ie without the Ctrl and Alt Keys. I believe some of the KeyMapping.xml file are hard coded which make it very hard to do this. I understand that I could lose text entry, so maybe just allow mapping in the Video Player and Guide (or perhaps by Add on in KeyMappings)

The main reason I am making this request is I would like to use the same keys in Kodi and NextPVR. It will also help in NLite in OS X because there the Control key does not function like a Ctrl key like on other platforms and I need to use the Command key even with I switch the it in the system option.

Another good reason for going to Kodi standards is on platforms that support lirc remote key mapping for NLite should just work with Kodi settings.

Using DVB/ATSC EPG to populate EPG. - problems
Posted by: Rikiwi - 2018-09-15, 12:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

I've been using NPVR for ages and normally use EPG Collector to create a XMLTV file to populate the EPG.
When the DVB option was introduced in NPVR some time ago I thought I'd use that instead of running EPG Collector daily.

What I find is that most of my channels populate correctly with 7 day's of data.
But there are always 2 or 3 channels - TV1, TV3, Duke. that have some data missing towards the end of the week.
BTW I'm in New Zealand and only have about 9 channels tuned.

Would you recommend that I just revert back to using EPG Collector (xmltv)? or this there something wrong with my NPVR configuration?

Please find all clean logs attached. And let me know if you need any more info.
This problem has been bugging me for ages.
Thanks for your help.

Hi all,
A Newbie here. Using Windows 10 x64 and installed NextPVR. Using IPTV Device and installed the channel list and XML. Got 1193 channels but none will play. I just get "Unable to find capture device". Tried replacing the DLL as mentioned in another thread. Restarted service. No Go.

Any Suggestions?

duplicate ch# for imports from iptv
Posted by: pBS - 2018-09-14, 06:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

is there anything that can be done about when importing channels from iptv m3u, it duplicates channel #s already in use, so in guide i have multiple ch2, one for locals, one for iptv, and not same content...not sure how can change livetv to a certain channels with # buttons in guide when that happens..
also it severely stuffs up order, forcing manual changing every single channel # for all imports..
example, i have locals as 2,8,11,13,20,26,39...and on import of iptv i have: 2,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,9,10,11,11,12,13,13,14,15,16,etc..

could we get a 'starting at ch#' for the import? or at least not use existing channel #'s?
starting ch# would keep the iptv separated from existing ch's on other devices..

also, even tho i specified a guide .xml when i imported, none of them are mapped to it? i have to go into bulkmap to fix..all channels match epg names..
