I keep posting in the NextPVR support forum about the Auto Extend Sports option and all 3 times it has been deleted, but the thread remains. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I would like to call a batch file that would wake up a server before a recording is made, basically at the time the PC would wake up if it was asleep. If I am watching live TV or using another drive then wakeup.bat won't be called.
Hi, I've been testing NextPVR on and off for several years with my HDHR Prime. Every version I've tested including 4.2.2 truncates recordings from certain channels and I cannot find the cause.
For example, any recording on channel 602 (CNBC via Frontier) stops early, usually within 6-14 minutes. There is no record failure error that I can find. Would someone be willing to help troubleshoot this issue with me?
FYI I've also tested with Plex (works correctly), Emby (same issue as NextPVR), and WMC (works correctly).
Hi, I've been using NextPVR for several years, mainly to record broadcast radio programmes (UK). I don't use any other front end (eg Kodi).
Over the last few months I've had increasing numbers of "Failed" scheduled recordings. Browsing the forum I realised that I needed to "start NPVR service", and this seemed to solve the problem for a while. However in the last few days most of my recordings have failed. This is despite "starting service" and "stopping service" several times. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled NextPVR (same version).
I don't get any error messages, either when starting service or at any other time. The only time I know that the recording has failed is when it says so under "Recordings".
If I use the "Quick Record" facility it records fine. Its scheduled recordings that's the problem.
As requested, I'm attaching the zip file containing the NextPVR data and would be grateful for your advice.
I would like to see the "Record season" choise changed to record ONLY shows that is from that particular season, ie if I point to a show in the epg that is episode 3 season 5 and choose "Record season (new episodes)" npvr records only episodes of that show from season 5. In addition I want a choise that says "Record series (new episodes)" that will cause episodes from ALL seasons to be recorded, both from season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5......
I've tried everything I can think of and just cannot get Vaders to work with NextPVR. I'm getting Error [8] when I try playing any channel.
I checked the URLs inside NextPVR for a lot of channels, copied them into VLC, and it plays immediately. Would someone be kind enough to check my log and point me in the right direction?
I've done some digging around and I can't quite find an answer on this; Is NextPVR supposed to be capable of downloading channel icons for the guide through the xmltv file? I see that the XML file generated has the icons listed in the xml like this:
But when the guide is viewed there aren't any icons shown and looking at the log I can't see where it's trying to download them. I do however see where it parses what it expects to find for channel icons in the 'media\channels' folder.
I can just rename the files and place them in the media folder, but I figured if there were an automated method of keeping them up to date via the xmltv file I'd rather go that route.
Bonus question, NextPVR isn't open source is it? Was just curious as I figured I'd go take a peek at the source to see if the icon XML tags were handled at all, but I couldn't find a repo for it in my short search.

First of all I must say I LOVE NPVR! it's amazing and very useful in my house.
i'm not sure if anyone asked this before but i've noticed that if I change channel on the software / browser that I watch npvr stream (for example: if I open "http://localhost:8866/live?channel=11" on vlc and at the same time want to open "http://localhost:8866/live?channel=12" - both on dvbt1 on a different vlc instance) the first stream is being stopped (and it does not play both of them at the same time). it happens both in browser and using vlc.
Is it possible that you'll make it work more than 1 channel at the same time using the same software (like you already done with multiple pcs on the same channel/watch one channel on one device and another on second device at the same time)?

just like to say wow this is such an amazing program, might have to donate when i can. but anyways have everything like working awesome now this is just something extra is there any way of getting logo's of channels with nextprv and kodi?
