Thank you,

  Problem with detecting devices
Posted by: BazSkywalker - 2018-09-22, 04:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I've been using WMC on Windows 7 SP1 for a long time, and want to make the switch to NextPVR.

Ideally I will get NextPVR working on the same machine to ease the transition.

I downloaded NextPVR onto my W7 machine. I ran it and no devices appeared. All I could see was an IPTV device. I have a Hauppauge dual-tuner DVB-T device in dual-tuner mode (as opposed to diversity) and a PCTV device (DVB-T2) installed.

Thinking this was perhaps WMC "grabbing" the tuners (although live TV was not running, and nothing was recording), I stopped the WMC Receiver and Scheduler services, and re-booted. Nothing, still.

I then took out my laptop (running Windows 10), installed the Hauppauge device, and installed NextPVR. Immediately it saw two tuners, presumably because it's a dual-tuner device. I didn't go any further than that with my laptop, as it seemed to identify an issue with the other machine.

Plugging the tuner back into my WMC PC, I created a new user profile, uninstalled the tuners, uninstalled NextPVR, and then re-installed both. Still, nothing.

I have attached the log files from NextPVR and I have also run the FilterCheck tool and attached that log file.

I don't understand what the error means, but at least my tuners are clearly being looked at.

The only thing I will say is that my WMC W7 machine must be a 3-4 year old installation and I have continually been modifying the experience. So there will be a lot of history on that installation.

Can anybody offer me any troubleshooting steps, or am I doomed to a re-installation of the O/S?

Having done some research, my overall intent is to use NextPVR as the back-end for Kodi or Emby, with Amazon Firesticks deployed to the house TVs instead of my current Linksys Media Extenders. The idea is that this current PC will become the media back-end network server and live TV provider/scheduler/recorder. Any thoughts on that welcome too!

Thanks in anticipation for your help which is much appreciated.

Sporadic - No errors, but no data delivered
Posted by: userg - 2018-09-22, 02:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I'm getting "No errors, but no data delivered" on some recordings.

Seems to be on single instance recordings such as football games or in this case it was The Emmys. This may not be 100% true as most re-occurring shows I record are still on summer break so I may just be noticing it on the single instance recordings because that is mainly what I have right now.

So tonight I decided to start looking into it, I found the time frame in the logs by searching for "Emmy Awards", the time stamp is 2018-09-17 19:00.xx I found some entries referencing it in NRecord.log.1 (included in attached zip file) but I didn't see any errors...

Can someone with a little better eye take a second look?

I'm running NextPVR as the backend and frontend on the same desktop PC running W10 and a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 dual tuner card and two HDDs (C and E).

I can't nail down a timeframe on when this started, maybe a couple months ago but I don't know what changed. The setup had been stable for quite a while and I don't recall changing anything.

Any thoughts or pointers on what to check are appreciated.

  Nextpvr Program guide

Hello everyone,
I am looking to see if there is a way to customize the layout of the program guide. I am looking to make the channel number/name box wider.
Any thoughts?

Thank you,

  AV Receiver shuts down
Posted by: manic_biker - 2018-09-21, 07:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

My AV receiver randomly shuts down, preceded by a very loud popping sound (presumably the cause), ONLY when watching TV. I have a Hauppage Quad TV PCI card, installed in a Win 10 PC. TV signal is derived from an attic-mounted antenna/LNA, with two layers of cable surge protection. The PC output is routed to the AV receiver with HDMI. That same HDMI interconnect is used for streaming Netflix and Prime, with no issues. I also have an external Blu-Ray player connected to a second HDMI receiver input, with no issues.

Can anyone offer any suggestions and/or tests to pinpoint the problem?

Does the Android app work with Chromebooks
Posted by: Tutontow - 2018-09-21, 07:29 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (2)

I have Android App loaded on my Chromebook but it refuses to connect. I also have it loaded on an Android phone with the exact same settings and it works great. I just wonder if there is some setting in Chrome blocking it. BTW if I use my browser on my Chromebook with the same IP address and port that I use with the app I can connect.

  AMD Low Power HTPC
Posted by: NumberFive - 2018-09-21, 03:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi,

Would anyone have recommendations for an AMD based low power HTPC?

I have been looking at the Intel J4205 / J5005 but they have video driver issues which makes them "not ideal".

Ideally I'd like an AMD option that is mini-ITX, HW accelerated HEVC, and low power (< 15 W).

Thoughts much appreciated. Smile

  kodi channels
Posted by: MaxOne72 - 2018-09-21, 03:52 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

noticed that when kodi populates channels it assigns it's own channel for example in the guide it says 266 but the actual channel is 595, is there any way of fixing this?

thanks.

What is the logic for recurring recordings?
Posted by: virtualpaul - 2018-09-21, 12:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi,

1- I am wondering what is the logic for recurring recordings. If the same episode was previously recorded but was deleted. Will it record it again when I select 'all episodes'? (I sometimes delete bad recordings when a channel has audio/video glitches). Is there a way to tell NextPVR to re-record any deleted episodes?

2- Is there some options for the recording video (mp2, mp4, quality) and audio format (ac3, aac, ...)?

3- Is there some options for audio and video glitches? Is there a way or a tool to clean it up? I sometimes ear very high pitch glitches and I am afraid for my audio system.
