Keyword recordings - distinguish between keyword in title and in plot summary
Posted by: martinu - 2018-03-03, 09:00 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (12)

The Keyword Record facility is very useful for scheduling recordings which don't yet appear in the EPG. However it has one annoying quirk: it schedules recordings that match the desired keyword anywhere. It would be useful if there were two separate fields - one to say "only look for the keyword in the programme or episode title" and another to say "also look in the plot summary and other metadata". This would save a lot of false-alarm recordings - for example if you want to record all forthcoming "Carry On" films, you probably don't also want to record totally unrelated programmes that happen to include the phrase "carry on" in the plot summary ;-)

  4.1.0 available (4th March)
Posted by: sub - 2018-03-03, 07:00 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (16)

You can download 4.1.0.180302 from http://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup_4_1_0_180302.exe

Please post any support issues in the support forum. Support questions posted in this thread will be deleted.

A key thing to not with this release is that it is no longer compatible with XP. The application is now using .NET 4.6. It should prompt to download and install this if you do not have it.

Changes:

Quote:- No longer compatible with XP. Now using VS2017 and .NET 4.6.
- fixed issue where playback would freeze if you tried to resume after being paused and you'd paused longer than the buffer.
- fixed an issue where OSD graphics wouldn't update with EVR video renderer while video is paused.
- fixed issue with recording shows that started with a complete windows reserved like "con".
- fixed issue with Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder with AAC which could cause crash.
- fixed a bug with downloading m3u8 keys from relative web paths
- added support for handling .ts files that lose 188 byte alignment mid file.
- fixed minor grid align issue in modern web app tv guide.
- improved the speed when deleting large number of channels
- improved the speed when saving large number of channels
- added a tickbox to control whether IPTV VOD channels and groups are sent to Kodi. (on Settings->Clients screen)
- fixed bug where re-imported recordings could have wrong date/time
- fixed an issue with playing back ts files that include a clock wrap-around
- now using timing.info in new reader if file is available
- improved detection of .ts file playback duration (when timing.info not available)
- fixed issue where HDHR Prime could generate broken recording with incorrect PAT at beginning of file.
- fixed an issue where LAV video decoder could show partial MPEG2 frames when playback starts before it gets an I-Frame
- fixed issue where 'unmute' in context menu was not working.
- increased timeout when downloading xmltv guide over http, since some IPTV providers are pretty slow at providing this
- fixed a bug that could cause NRecord.exe to crash if NDigitalHost.exe had crashed.
- fixed minor memory leak with IPTV or CableCard devices.
- fixed issue where sometimes OnDemand playback would report duration of zero, and user wouldn't be able to skip
- added an option to display just the channel name in the left column of the TV guide (see Settings->Misc2), since many IPTV users have long channel names, and no interest in the channel numbers. The original guide style would often show the name truncated to something unidentiable from the other channels around it.
- added ProcAmp support for analog devices, for those that need to tweak contrast/brightness etc.
- now remembers and auto selects the last caption/subtitle option, for those users that prefer to leave captions enabled all the time
- now possible to change font used for teletext by editing <TeletextFontName> in config.xml
- added a new <If> directive for skins, to accommodate more complex requests I was getting from users
- added a couple more guide channel header styles, and now dynamically sizing the main guide to accommodate header styles that use less space
- added a setting to remember the TV Guide last channel selection
- further improvements for compatibility with quirks of some IPTV providers

Need help setting up with Ceton
Posted by: rytomi - 2018-03-03, 04:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

Hi, first time poster at this forum.

I've been using WMC originally in Windows Vista, then in Windows 7 and 8.1 for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately as everyone knows Microsoft ditched WMC and now I'm looking for a solution to replace. I think I've decided Kodi with a NPVR back end seems to make the most sense.

I took one of my machines and fresh installed Windows 10 on it to try to get this solution working, and I'm pulling my hair out because nothing I can find on the internet seems to work.

I have both HDHomeRun Prime and Ceton InfiniTV tuners, but I am only trying to setup the INFINITV tuner for now... I'll get to the others later. It is an Infinitv 6 ETH.

Here's what I've done...
Installed the Ceton InfiniTV drivers.
I've installed the latest NPVR software 4.0.5.
I've installed the LAV codecs.

I used the devices tab in NPVR to run "device setup" on each of the tuners, they each found 946 channels (it shows 6 "DRI" Ceton Tuners).
On the decoders tab I set everything to LAV.
Changed the recording and buffer directory to my D: drive since that's a 1 TB.

I open NPVR and the guide shows every channel 6 times (I assume I can fix that later), but nothing will play. If I select "Watch" on a channel, or select "Live TV" then I get a "...please wait..." that appears for about 1 second and then nothing happens.

I've tried to follow every wiki and every guide and every forum post, but no amount of searching on this forum or google seems to find anything that works.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, deleting and re setting up everything, but nothing changed.
I attached my whole logs directory.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

  How do I enable X-NEWA's Read-Only Mode?
Posted by: ChaosMageX - 2018-03-03, 03:55 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (4)

I want to enable the read-only mode of X-NEWA so that its Delete and Cancel buttons are disabled so that I don't accidentally delete or cancel a recording from one of the Kodi clients.

How do I do that?

From what I've found on the forums so far, I think I have to add the following lines to the x-newa.ini file:

Code:
[XNEWA] readonly = yes

However, I can't seem to find the x-newa.ini file. Where is it? If I have to create it myself, where do I put it?

How do I get codecs to install into NPVR?
Posted by: bellbuoy - 2018-03-02, 06:00 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I downloaded the latest NPVR and tried to set it up like i had done previously on an earlier machine. I also downloaded the LAV filters as instructed in a forum post "You can download the commonly used LAV decoders from https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFil...-Installer.exe.". My problem is that the LAV decoders do not show up in the Drop down boxes on the Decoders page. Clicking on the box containing the three dots to the right of the drop down (which I suspect should create a "Browse" menu) does nothing. How do I get the LAV Decoders into the NPVR program?

  Change Subtitle font
Posted by: Wigcity - 2018-03-01, 01:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I am using the default skin on Windows 10 and am in the UK, I use NextPVR for watching and recording TV. I would like to change the subtitle font, particularly Teletext. I can't find it defined anywhere, is it possible to do or is it defined externally? I am currently using VLC to watch recordings as the subtitles are handled better but this really shouldn't be necessary. I cannot find any useful up-to-date information on the forum so any help would be appreciated.

  WD Green for Recording Drive?
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2018-02-27, 12:12 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I've just retired a WD 2tb green (EARS) HDD from my UNRAID server due to Capacity Upgrade (Seagate IronBru 4tb) and and replaced the 1TB Samsung F3 recording drive in the NPVR HTPC with it, along with a SSD for Live TV (Already had SSD for OS) Head parking has been changed from 8 seconds to 300 seconds.
Finally I can use a non raid driver and use TRIM and SMART etc.

Thought I would Run CrystalDiskMark on the drive and was a bit surprised to see that although sequential reads and writes were around 90 MB/s, Random reads and writes were well under 1MB/s.

Has anyone used these green drives for recordings? And how do they cope with Multiple Recordings and Recording / Playback at the same time?

Otherwise I may have to replace with a Seagate Barracuda or WD Blue.
