I recall reading in the forums somewhere that if for the Australian Digital tv channels you don't necessarily need a tuner for each client connected as some of the stations run on the same frequency and you can watch different channels on different clients with the same tuner. I can't find this post.
Can anyone point me to this information? I'm trying to determine how many tuners I would need to support up to 12 clients.
I updated to libreelec version 8.2.0, which changes how SMB works, and EDL skipping inside X-NEWA stopped working. Initially access to SMB drives stopped working until I changed the support level in the settings (down to ver 1). Now if I play a recording directly through Kodi, EDL skipping works fine, but not through X-NEWA anymore. I made the advanced settings change in the past and that is still in place.
As per the title, I've tried both openelec and xbian (latest available as of today) on a CuBox-i4Pro, and this is an extract from one of the log files:
NextPVR is using an hauppage HDMI capture card for input (+ a DVB-T USB capture card)
Kodi with the NextPVR client works fine from a Windows PC so NextPVR itself should be setup correctly.
I used to have this partially working on Gotham? I think, but with stuttering during playback and I've kept putting off looking at this, until today with a clean build using the latest from xbian / openelec.
I wonder if I may have found a flaw in the logic that NPVR uses for choosing which of two DVB-T adaptors to use when there are several overlapping or consecutive scheduled recordings.
I had three recordings set:
- BBC Two 20:30-21:00
- BBC Four 21:00-22:40
- ITV 21:00-22:00
These were added from the EPG, rather than being added manually (channel and times).
BBC One and BBC Four are on one multiplex and ITV is on another multiplex, so I expected the BBC Two and BBC Four recordings to use one decoder, with the appropriate pre- and post-padding, and the ITV recording to use the other decoder.
However the BBC Two recording used one decoder (the default decoder) and stopped at exactly 21:00 (with no post-padding) when the ITV recording started (with no pre-padding) on the same decoder, and the BBC Four recording used the second (non-default) decoder.
Is the allocation of recordings to decoders dependent on the order in which recordings are added to the scheduled list or is every attempt made to use the same decoder for all recordings on the same multiplex so as to preserve pre- and post-padding? I think I added the recordings to the schedule in the order ITV (first to be added - a weekly recording initially added several weeks ago), BBC Four (a one-off recording added a few days ago) and finally BBC Two (a one-off recording added a few hours ago), if it's relevant.
I had a brush with a very nasty virus, and had to rebuild. The short version... In the process of rebuilding, I somehow managed to have the firewall screwed up, and when I reinstalled NPVR, the definition of the recording service failed. So, now I cannot start/stop the service, because it hasn't been defined.
Does anyone know the syntax I use to redefine the service?
I am using a USB-UIRT as my second channel changer.
I have a batch file that uses uutx.exe to change the channel and use a 3 digit string as argument to change channel
If I enter channel.bat 234 in cmd.exe it changes the channel on my set top box to channel 234.
However when I entered this in nextpvr it did not change the channel.

When I pause the TV for an extended period of time and return to continue watching, the program freezes when I try to skip forward past a commercial and will not restart. I have to exit the program and end up missing what I wanted to watch. I have read other comments on this but they seemed to be using Kodi and I am only using NPVR by itself and having a similar problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have followed the instructions on many web pages about how to get NextPVR to work on Kodi, and I cannot get it to work on my PC.
I am using Kodi version 17.5. I was using the Apollo AIOne build and the Titan skin. I even uninstalled Kodi and the Roaming folder, and did a fresh re-install with no builds, re-installed the NextPVR Windows software, and then tried to set up NextPVR service with Kodi. Nothing seems to work. Is there a complete idiot's guide to installing NextPVR that walks a person through every conceivable step? I feel like the only person in the universe who cannot get NextPVR to work.
Even with subtitles delay set to zero some channels have about 500-700 mS delay on dvb-subtitles, would it be possible to set the subtitle delay to a negative value on playback? (I reco'n it may be difficult on live tv )
When watching TV I prefer to always use "Fill" but some of the channels have a wavy line on top of the screen and there is no option to crop. I only need the picture to move up slightly and was hoping you could instruct me on how to do that. I am familiar with XML files and have edited them in the past so if there is a way to edit it to get the desired effect I can do that. Thank you for any consideration you can give me in this matter. I am using 16:9 Format
