  Football Quits Recording
Posted by: GWCowling323 - 2017-10-30, 11:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Back in the days when I used Media Center I would set a football game to record and then start watching about an hour to an hour-and-a-half later so I could just skip past commercials and watch the game in less time. I did that with two games this past weekend and it appears that they quit recording at about the time I began watching. Am I correct in assuming that I can't watch and see the whole game until it appears in "Ready Recordings" after the game is over?

  grid epg
Posted by: whichway - 2017-10-30, 01:34 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

I am new to nextpvr. I tried looking but I could not find an answer to how to bring up a "grid" guide as opposed to a
"list" guide in kodi using nextpvr. I like the grid epg that shows in native nextpvr but when I go to Kody all I seem to be able to call up is one of 2 lists for epg.

Incomplete recording - '[ERROR][31] Unexpected error downloading seasonwide' in logs
Posted by: PapaJay - 2017-10-30, 01:22 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi

I have been using NextPVR for about 7 months, and it has been working very well. On Oct. 21 I upgraded to 4.0.4, and things seemed to be working well. But on Friday night and again on Saturday night, there were recordings made with very small files - on Thursday night for a 1 hour show the .ts file was 818 kb, and on Saturday night for a 30 minute news broadcast it was 736 kb - each of these files should have been gigabytes. Neither of these recording was flaged as failed in the NextPVR Windows interface under Ready Recordings or What's New/

I have looked at the NRecord.log.2 file in the uploaded zip for the recording on Friday night, and at 2017-10-27 20:57:00.669 there is a log record that reads [ERROR][31] Unexpected error downloading seasonwide . It appears that NextPVR was accessing the TVDB when it encountered an error, but this could be incorrect as I have no knowledge of the code. Could this have been the reason the recording failed?

When I checked the NRecord.log.2 at 2017-10-28 22:58:00.284 where is started recording the news show on Saturday night there is no error 31 written during the recording, so there seems to be no pattern to the failures.

My set up is a two tuner HDHomeRun, which is then enabled in NextPVR. I had one problem back in the spring where the HDHomeRun box told NextPVR that there were no tuners available, but in that case NextPVR clearly noted the recordings as 'Failed', and as noted above this is not the case for these two failed recordings. The solution suggested by the HDHomeRun team to solve the 'all tuners in use problem' last spring was to simply reboot it (power off and on) which appeared to solve the problem. I checked today and I could watch two channels simultaneously, and when I tried to watch a third I did get a no tuners available error.

I have uploaded a zip that contains the log directory, and another zip file that contains the files written out by NextPVR during the failed recordings.

Thanks.

Age-based retention policy! Purge old recordings
Posted by: othello - 2017-10-29, 05:00 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I would like NextPVR to have a retention policy that would automatically delete recordings after a period of time. Not the existing feature that saves a certain number of recording files. This is one feature of MCE that I miss. I don't have to periodically purge the files by hand, a tiring and time-consuming process. A per-recording override function should be available, too, to prevent the recording from purging.

  NBC Streams Shrinking?
Posted by: Simon_H - 2017-10-27, 04:29 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

When the new fall season started , I noticed my over-the-air NBC streams went down by half (from just under 6 GiB/hr to just under 3 GiB/hr); a reduction in bit-rate but not resolution (1080i).

Using MediaInfo, and comparing with my last remaining old (2014-01-02) file...

Is this network-wide or just Chicago (WMAQ)? They have not added another sub-channel.

Anyone out there: Let me know about your findings, and thanks in advance.

  Audio Video Sync
Posted by: Tacoma - 2017-10-27, 03:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I use the Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD on a PC and Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q on other PC both running Windows 10. Using the latest release of NextPVR 404 170820, I find using LAV audio and video codecs, that video recordings lose sync when I skip forward. If I use the LAV video codecs with Hauppauge audio codecs when playing recorded video, I do not have the sync problem when I skip forward.

  Sports Auto-Extend Not Working?
Posted by: antenna - 2017-10-27, 05:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (26)

I was testing out the sports auto-extend feature, and I'm having no luck. During an NBA game tonight, my DVR ended the recording at the scheduled finish, even though the game was not over. The game was Clippers vs. Blazers, and the network was NBC Sports Northwest. It was recorded via HDHomeRun Prime, and I have a Schedules Direct account being used for the guide. I do have the sports extension option enabled in NextPVR settings, but since I'm new to the product, it's possible I'm simply making an error.

I've attached the portion of the record log from tonight's recording (I can provide more if needed). Any advice? Thank you!

NextPVR.exe crashes and doesn't start, no logs emitted
Posted by: sgilani - 2017-10-27, 04:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Something very weird is happening.. I come home, and all of a sudden, NextPVR doesn't start. When I try to run it, nothing happens for about two minutes, after which I get a "NextPVR has stopped working" dialog. No logs of any kind are emitted, so I don't know what's going on.

Here's what I found in the Windows event viewer for the crash:

Any ideas, please? I'm completely lost, never seen this sort of thing before. I tried right clicking on the tray and 'show settings', but it does the same thing.

  No Audio with Live Tv
Posted by: ajc1616 - 2017-10-26, 12:43 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (7)

I have a unique problem, I have searched for an answer but I can not find one. When I watch live tv through nextpvr I get no audio in Kodi on my fire stick. When I disable mpeg2 on the backend my audio comes through. If I disable mpeg2 I can not watch live tv on my windows 10 machine. Is there a way in kodi to only accept the h.264 decoder?
