  Recordings, no 'Unwatch', intended?
Posted by: mattyb - 2017-09-29, 12:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Not sure if this is intended behaviour or something to do with my setup, but have had a search through the Wiki and forums and can't find anything. It's been like this for a while through several versions of NPVR, just haven't bothered to do anything about it.

When playing from Videos I always have the option of Close-Play-Resume-Unwatch-etc, but it seems the Unwatch is missing when playing from Recordings. Is this normal? Would like to be able to mark as Unwatched from here as well.

Another thing that seems odd is that when I delete an individual recording after viewing that is part of a series, it stays there and doesn't disappear from the screen until I exit back to the main menu and re-enter Recordings. Years ago I'm sure it disappeared instantly.

Any ideas?

  Client freezes
Posted by: jd1940 - 2017-09-28, 07:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I'm currently using 3.9 version for my client and in all respects but one it works perfectly. But, it occasionally just 'freezes' to the extent I have to close the program and restart it. Usually it will allow me to 'resume' what I was watching, but not always. I don't imagine logs will be of any use since I have to restart every time it does this. I get a Windows onscreen message indicating NPVR is failing to respond, do I want to close. Any idea what could cause this or is this just something I'm going to have to live with?

This happens using all the mpeg2 codecs available so I doubt they are the problem.

  Can't get NextPVR to work!
Posted by: sydneybrit - 2017-09-28, 09:42 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

I'm having some real issues setting up NextPVR on a Win10 machine and hoping someone van help!

Here is my setup:

  • NextPVR version: 4.0.4 (170820),
  • Devices: IPTV only (no tuners)
  • Codecs
loaded: Lav, Media Player Codec Pack

When I configure the IPTV device, both the channels and the XMLTV guide load fine from URLs. However, when I try to watch any channel, I get the error message "Unable to find available capture device The remote server returned an error (401) Unauthorized".

I've attached the log file.

However, if I install NextPVR version 4.0.4 (170731) with exactly the same Codec configs, I can watch the IPTV channels. The only problem with this version of the software, is that the XMLTV file will not load properly and the channels don't map to the guide.

Ideally I would like to use the 170820 version because the guide loads properly. Any ideas?

Error message - "missing audio decoder" on changing channels since 4.0.4
Posted by: hughjorgenn - 2017-09-28, 12:22 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

When changing channels that have different audio formats I often get an error message on screen about misssing an audio decoder. If I change to another channel with same audio type it is fine. So going from a channel with mpg audio to a channel with Dolby audio requires going back to main menu to get sound.

Difference between NPVR and NEWA recordings lists
Posted by: Bobins - 2017-09-26, 09:33 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

I had a problem with a number of imported recordings from a series where the file name of some contained "Of" and others "of". This resulted in the list of recordings being split in to two separate lists in both NPVR and NEWA. (One list of 40 recordings and one of 20).
I edited the name in the npvr.db3 database and restarted NPVR (and service).
NPVR now shows the series under one list in the Recordings screen (60 recordings) but NEWA still has the series split into two separate lists (40 & 20).

Have I missed something?

No Show Details after Windows Update (ROVI)
Posted by: SilverTiger - 2017-09-26, 03:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I just did a MASSIVE windows update to build 15063. Took forever and multiple reboots. I now notice that I have a bunch of "no show details" in the guide for only SOME channels. I am using Rovi. I checked the XMLTV.XML file and it appears to be ok. Also checked mc2xml.chl and the "channels" settings in NPVR. All look OK to me. I have no way to KNOW that this was caused by the windows update, but wondered if anyone else has seen this?

  Problems after update
Posted by: default_user8 - 2017-09-26, 02:45 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I had nextpvr working great in Windows 7 Home Premium, but after updateing to the newer version i'm having all sorts of trouble. I have even started from scratch and reloaded Windows and downloaded the latest nextpvr install. The recording service is not waking from sleep to record, and when i manually WOL the recoding service isn't responding unless i reboot. Here are my log files let me know what you think, because i'm about ready to really start from scratch and format my hard driveand completely reinstall windows. Thanks.

  NRecord.exe fails with exception
Posted by: gymshoe - 2017-09-26, 12:58 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I have been using NextPVR for about 3 years now - works great! Recently I have experienced a number of crashes for NRecord.exe. The logs do not show an issue, everything looks fine and then the process just seems to stop. Looking at the windows event log I found the following:

Logged 9/25/2017 9:36:03 AM

Faulting application name: NRecord.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x59991470

I have the NPVR Recording Service configured to restart after 1 minute on failure - which it did.
I am running version 4.0.4, .Net 4.6.2 Windows 7 Pro, Service Pack 1

Any help would be appreciated!

Problem since updating to latest version
Posted by: Kamakzie1976 - 2017-09-26, 12:35 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I knew I shouldn't have done the upgrade right before TV shows came on. I noticed that the new version had been out for over a month so I thought I would quickly upgrade. Big mistake! Now when I try to watch live TV I just get a black screen and maybe an occasional audio blip. I checked to see if the shows were recording and they are recording fine. I figured it is some sort of a decoder issue with watching live TV? Any ideas, I would appreciate them!

4.0.4 All Episodes, All Channels fails to record more than one an hour.
Posted by: GuruSR - 2017-09-26, 12:23 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

The system has 4 turners, there's only 1 show on in that time slot (10pm), on 2 channels, wanting to record both using the All Episodes, All Channels setting (have it as such), all this seems to do is pick the first one in that hour and record it only, sadly, that caused the show to be lost due to a bad signal interruption, the other station probably was stable, but I wouldn't know, it never tried to record it.
