I have had a lot of problems with 4.04. Some people say they went back to 3.92. I still had a file in my download folder "NPVRSetup_3_9_2_161119.exe". When I ran it said it was installing but after the install when you go to "About" it says your version is 4.04. How can you go back to a previous version?

I'm not sure anyone really needs this, as the built in NextPVR blaster options are very solid, but I needed one thing that none of the build in blasters do. I wanted to send a discreet power on code to my cable box to make sure it was actually on when I need to record something from it. Thus was born iguana-blaster. To use this you need an IguanaWorks USB IR Transceiver (I have no idea if the serial one will work), and you can get one from http://iguanaworks.com. You also have to have Python 2.7.x on your system. 3.x might work as well, but I haven't tested it.

Once you have that you can download the channel changer from https://github.com/pkscout/iguana-blaster. There's a read me that will tell you how to get it setup, including the kind of cumbersome work you have to do to learn the IR codes. I had originally planned to use WinLIRC as the go between for this, but right at the end I found out that WinLIRC's Transmit.exe uses the clipboard to send commands, so it won't work with NextPVR. Thanks to sub for that info. I wish I would have found that 7 year old thread two days ago. :p

The only thing not in the README is how to configure NPVR to use this (although I will probably add that soon).

In the NextPVR settings you have to go to devices, select your analog recorder, and then click device setup. In the channel changer section:

Changer: Executable
Executable: C:\Python27\pythonw.exe (or whatever the path is to your python executable)
Arguments: C:\CustomApps\iguana-blaster\execute.py -c {channel} (or wherever you put the iguana-blaster folder)

Then highlight all the channels, right click, and select UPDATE TO CURRENT SETTINGS. If you have the IguanaWorks software installed correctly and iguana-blaster setup, you should now be able to change channels. And with the right settings in the iguana-blast settings.py file, you can have a command (or group of commands) that is sent before each channel change (with an option to only send that every once in awhile if you want). There's more info at the GitHub site on how to configure iguana-blaster.

As I said, I have no idea if anyone else will need this or what to go to the effort of getting everything configured. But just in case there it is.

Others have reported this before, but I'm started a new thread because when I've posted to the other threads (on the Kodi forum, anyway), it got no attention.

There are some programs (not necessarily channels, see explanation) that will not play live in Kodi. They play live via the NextPVR interface and the web interface, I can paste the URL into VLC and it plays, and they record just fine, but they will not play live. I've mostly noticed this on my local ABC affiliate for its 6pm local news, where the 5pm national news plays fine and the 7pm Wheel of Fortune plays fine, but the 6pm local news won't play. I've also noticed it on HGTV, which doesn't much matter to me but does matter to my in-laws. Most importantly, however, and the real showstopper, is that it happened today on the local Fox affiliate trying to watch the football game. Not having live football is a big problem.

I'm not well-versed in reading Kodi logs, but I think what I'm seeing is that Kodi isn't getting any video or audio stream. My first thought was maybe this is a copy protection issue, but if that were the case then I wouldn't expect anything to play or record, rather than just Kodi being broken.

NextPVR is on a Windows 10 Pro machine, using a Ceton InfiniTV 6 PCIe tuner and King County Comcast digital lineup via Schedules Direct. The client in this case was on a different Windows 10 Pro PC running Kodi 17.4, but it happens on all of my Kodi clients (Windows 10, Raspberry Pi 3, Nvidia Shield).

Any help on this before next weekend's games would be much appreciated.

I need help to implement a rule for two channels and subsets owned by the same media company.

Every Sunday at 7:59am for some reason channel 25.1 (25.1 through 25.8) reboots it transmitter or computers.

Every Sunday at 8:59am they reboot 20.1 through 20.6.

This only lasts a couple minute but enough to corrupt scheduled recordings.

Right now I'm having to go in, forget the recordings and then delete the recordings. Luckily I use the "zero" recording size windows notification trick I learn on the forums here and at least get a list to go back and purge. I assume forgetting and then deleting will get them back in the potential recording list if those episodes appear in the future. If not I got a lot of work to do matching EP0000 numbers to episodes and deleting those from the deleted field in the database.

What is the best way, other than manually canceling, to not record during those times on any of those stations?

If there an if recording is scheduled on channel 20.1 at 8:59, don't record option I can put in one of the scripts?

When I click Find All, it brings up a list of all the future listings in my guide data.

If I choose to expand something found, I get a Close, Record and Find All submenu list. If I don't want to record I can choose close and it brings me back to the list of programs it previously found.

However If I choose Record and setup the recording, it takes me out of everything and back to the source of my original hunting trip instead of resuming to the list of programs if previously found and I have to start all over again.

My wish would be that after I setup a found recording it would default back to my list of found programs so I can continue on my hunting trip without having to refind future programs.

Every Sunday I go on a Find All hunting trip:

1. I have disabled recurring custom recordings season==1 episode==1 and I manually set a couple episodes of a new show to see if I like it before unleashing a new recurring rule for that new program.
   
   
2. I have custom recurring rule disabled for genres Like '%movie%' and want to see what I want to record movie wise. I actually have a couple rules like this. One for LAFF, MOVIE! PBS, etc.
   
   
3. I have disabled recurring programs that I may be missing a show or two and for some reason or another my database doesn't contain the episodes I have even with VideoImport andVideoConduit attempting to add them and it wants to record all episodes I already have so I periodically "Find All" on a disabled recurring and setup a one time recording for an episode I am lacking.

I recently installed a Haupagge Quad Tuner in my HTPC. It is in a accommodation above a pub. It has a coaxial cable run from the AV system which modules a lot of the cable tv channels and the free to air channels. WinTV that comes with the tuner card picks up all the channels and displays them without issue doing a normal dvb-t scan - however NextPVR only picks up the free to air channels.

Is there anyway for me to copy the frequencies and SID from WinTV 8.5 over to NextPVR so that it picks up the extra channels?

Was working. Reinstalled the newest version of npvr, now it can't find the home run.

When I attempted to install 4.0.4 over 3.9.2 on my Win 10 pro 64 build 1607 server I got an "unhandled exception error" message when selecting the devices tab. I am running an HD Homerun Extend tuner QAM cable. I tried a different PC (Win 7) and it seemed to work fine. So going back to the Win 10 server I uninstalled NPVR deleted the user and program folders, cleaned the registry of everything NPVR, and re-installed 4.0.4. It seemed to work ok and I was able to import the channels and other stuff and all is well.

Then yesterday my EPG info disappeared. I found that for some reason the Schedules Direct login info was missing. After entering the Schedules Direct info and getting the channels configured I updated the EPG. Still no EPG showing up. Then I went to the Devices tab in settings and I'm getting the unhandled exception error again. No devices show up ever. I tried uninstalling everything as before but still get the error and no devices show up.

So I went back to 3.9.2 (with the patches) and all is running fine.

Any ideas what I can do to get 4.0.4 working?

When I attempt to play a recording or live TV, usually right after I have started NextPVR, the video and audio do not start. I need to restart play a couple of times before video and audio kick in. I have changed video decoders, but it does not seem to improve this situation. I have used LAV video decoders, Mainconcept (HCW) MPEG 2, Microsoft DTV-DVD.

Also, I am seeing problems with video playback using LAV decoders, video may stall or breakup during playback.
