NPVR Works on Windows backend server (plays live TV) but stopped working with KODI.
Attempting to restart recording service produces the error in the attached screenshot. Up until this occurred 4.04 was working very well.
I am on a Windows 10 machine using the newest version of NPVR. All has been working fantastic. I use schedules direct for my TV guide data and it matches with Direct TV PERFECTLY.
I recently picked up a Happauge Tuner for over the air channels. Although Schedules direct does give me the proper data for what is being aired and for future airings, I notice that the TV guide in NPVR isn't always tagging a new (1st aired) TV show as "New" when working with over the air channels. It works fine for Direct TV listings, but has issues with Over The Air channels. I went to the websites for both of my favorite over the air channels , "Escape" and "Justice Network" to see when TV shows (1st aired) are coming on, and, matched it with NPVR guide data and NPVR isn't tagging them as new shows. Sometimes it tags as a new show, sometimes it doesn't. I am assuming this is more of a Schedules Direct issue than NPVR. NPVR is only as good as the data it receives
So, with the above said, does anyone else have this issue with Schedules Direct when working with OTA TV? And, if so, is there an alternate source that would be a little better at identifying new TV shows for the OTA TV rather than Schedules Direct?
Any amount of info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated
Just installed 4.0.4 on my Win10 server machine. Started testing by first turning on the "Legacy..." option for the .ts reader. Record, playback, live TV all seem to work perfectly. No regression. Thank you.
When I unticked the "Legacy..." option for the .ts reader, playback and live TV degraded with the same symptoms: video and audio appear to be playing at a faster-than-normal frame rate and the audio lags the video. Very strange. I may be able to create a screen capture to illustrate the problem if you feel it necessary. I could find no remedy by changing decoders. The only thing I could find that creates the problem is the TS Reader option.
Logs are attached. Is there something I should try?
With 4.0.4 DVB-T radio channels aren't working properly.
Starting a radio channel I get silence, though the stream is being saved to the "Temp" directory fine. If I first view a tv channel and then switch to the radio channel it sometimes plays the audio. I have attached log extracts of doing both.
Switching to another radio channel results in silence again until I switch to a tv channel and back again. Sometimes changing channel from a radio channel just hangs NPVR.
If I select the "use legacy TS..." option then some radio channels will start playing immediately without having to view a TV channel first and when changing between radio channels, and using the "switch to a tv channel and back to radio" trick results in a few seconds of audio and then silence. (stream is still recording to disk in Temp just as before)
Additionally there's no OSD at all showing on these radio channels (completely black window).
I am using XMLTV / TV Guide to download my channel guide and it is working great but I have one issue...I am in a location that receives channels from two different markets and there doesn't seem to be a way to select more than one market's channels on the TV Guide website. Is there a way to update my program guide using XMLTV and mulltiple OTA markets?
I noticed with the new release that my playback will hang sometimes when I do multiple skips in quick succession, as I do when skipping thru commercials. I don't remember this happening with the previous release.
If you look at the logs I had a hang with "Grantchester".
Thanx.
I upgraded from v3.9.2 to v4.0.4 (after first closing NPVR service), and now I can't access the NPVR web server - I get a timeout when attempting to access it on the localhost. I've tried rebooting, then renaming config-web.xml and restarting the NPVR recording service, but neither helped. I can open the NPVR application and see the WEPG etc, but have no web access. I attach my log files.
Hello. Came across an unusual occurrence. NPVR appears to start to black screen when it should show CHCH Channel 11.1 livetv on startup and then stops working all together. after 3 restarts and crashes I restart the recording service and then it works ok again.
Hauppage signal monitor reporting SNR 24.2-24.6 in green and no errors.
Attaching zip files in case anything in there helps understand if this was just random or something more.
I keep getting an exception when I try to use the Bulk Map button. I was able to work around this somewhat painfully by setting up each channel to schedules direct and choosing the correct lineup which is comcast for most channels other than a few that I get direct OTA. I also deleted lots of channels I was not interested in, or thought I wasn't. Turns out I was over zealous and left out one or two. Now it appears that the only way to add those back in after deleting is to rescan and reset up the EPG mapping. Any idea why Bulk Map was not working? Next time I do this, I would like to Bulk Map everything to the Comcast lineup and then manually modify the few OTA channels.
Attached my logs. Did the setup last night, and it has been running smoothly since then.
