Transcoder parameters - burn DVB subtitles in a video
Posted by: Krstareci - 2017-07-10, 05:16 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Hi everybody,

Little help please...
How can I (or where) set some custom parameters for ffmpeg encoder in order to Burn dvbsub's directly into video.
New web-player working great but missing sub is huge flaw.

I was try to modify TranscodeArgs in the config.xml, but I can see that encoder always gets the same args.

Thanks

  NscriptHelper - still working?
Posted by: psycik - 2017-07-10, 03:53 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (10)

Been playing with nscripthelper to do some renames (move db entries from one location to another). But I seem to be having issues with the filenames.

In the DB under scheduled_recordings.filename I'm only getting a partial name: U:\Recordings\The Simpsons\The Simpsons_20170710_1

Am I missing something, and is it actually storing the entire name?

Then if I do a rename on either the partial or full name, it complains it can't find it.

Repeatable problem - tuner not found/freeze
Posted by: Mortium - 2017-07-09, 03:26 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (18)

Have been having problems for a long time now and it's just got to the point where it's frustrating having to deal with.

Every morning without fail, we boot up the PC with kodi installed on it. We have it set to autostart Kodi upon start up, along with nextpvr.

Kodi boots up (17.3) and the TV programs turn on. After not too long (3-4 mins at a guess), the whole TV show freezes and we have to reboot the PC.
Upon rebooting, the same process takes place, but this time there is no freezing and we can watch the TV as normal.

I'm not certain, but I did a little bit of digging a while back and was under the impression that the EPG updates could be the cause of this. Hopefully this doesn't throw anyone off being able to help.

Secondly, (and this didn't cause a problem under Kodi 16), with the update to 17.3 we now have the TV tuners dropping off as soon as we switch modes to go to the menu screen of Kodi. The error message continually pops up, and although I haven't tested it, I believe that any recording programs at the time would fail.

Any tips would be awesome. I took a log so hopefully can see what the issue may be.

Can't detect Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500
Posted by: nthpixel - 2017-07-09, 02:16 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Disclaimer: Just starting to jump into the the PVR world.

I just received my Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 tuner from ebay and dropped it in. Then had Windows 10 install the driver and it looked ok from the perspective of Device Manager. But in NextPVR, it's not listed as a device. I only see "IPTV Device". Is this card too old to use? I also don't have a WinTV installation disk, as again, the card is from ebay. Logs attached. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

All kinds of issues with Live TV
Posted by: hansolo77 - 2017-07-08, 02:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Setup
------

Recorder/Server:
Custom Built Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2
3 Tuner Cards, all Hauppauge, various analog and digital capabilities
Time Warner/Spectrum Standard Cable Ready service (we have digital HD with PVR, but only cable ready to the server), picks up about 70 channels
HD OTA Antenna picks up about 14 channels
Tuner cards and drivers all tested and working with SoftPVR
48tb Free Storage in Drive Pool used for overflow
120gb Dedicated SSD for NPVR
NPVR version 3.7.7

Player/Client:
Kodi 17.3 Krypton
NPVR plugin version 2.4.13.1
Connected on same network via Gigabit Ethernet (not wireless)

Problem
--------

History:
Everything was crazy complicated to get set up. I'm using (was it called?) Schedules Direct for EPG data. After a week or two of troubleshooting and banging my head on the wall I finally got it all working. Everything was going great. The system downloaded EPG like it should. It recorded TV Shows I scheduled to record. They all play back like they should. Even Live TV was working. Then I started doing more watching of stuff I downloaded, or stuff I could stream with my Netflix account. I neglected NPVR for a good 6-8 months. Every now and then, I would check to see if anything new had recorded, and it wasn't recording anything. Lately, I've just chalked it up as being the summer season and all my shows I watch are on break. But earlier today we had a string of thunderstorms come through the area and I wanted to watch our local news channel to see if they had a radar up and was talking about it. Well, that's when I realized my system isn't working like it should. I can browse the EPG with no problem, so that part at least still seems to be working right. But if I try to pick a channel to watch (not record) all I get is a black screen on my client.. It's like the server isn't transmitting the stream. However,, if I hit the STOP button on my remote, it will very quickly display a single frame of whatever was playing before returning me to the EPG. I did some further testing, and discovered it is doing this on all of my HD channels. Regardless if it's OTA or picked up through the cable company. If I switch to an SD channel, it works fine.

So is there something wrong with the versions I'm using? Was there some addition/subtraction to the code I need to fix? Some setting that got whacked? I just don't know what to do. I checked all the settings on the server side and they look correct based on what I remember seeing when it worked before. The only settings in the Client's addon is stuff like the Hostname, port, and pin. I suppose that could have gotten messed up. But the SD stuff and the EPG works so clearly the communication is there.

Any ideas? Here's a copy of my logs for you guys to look over if you think it'll help. Hopefully I've provided enough information. If you need more, just ask. I'm eager to make this work again.

NextPVR to send alerts and notices via "Pushover.net"
Posted by: jtcreate - 2017-07-07, 03:52 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

How about NextPVR can send alerts to your phone or other devices and computers via pushover APP and browser plugins. I've been using "Pushover" for completed processed recordings through VAP videoredo and WMC. Works awesome.

Cannot enable time shift on Android
Posted by: satcoms - 2017-07-07, 01:09 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (8)

Hello,

I am currently running the latest version of NextPVR on a Windows 10 machine as the host. I am able to successfully access it using Kodi 17.3 from other windows machines and timeshift works. I used to be able to access it from my Odroid running the Libreelec also with no issues.

I recently moved, and when I reconnected everything I am unable to use NextPVR from the Odroid with timeshift enabled. As soon as I tune to a channel it freezes and returns a "tuner not available" error. If I disable timeshift, everything works normally. I thought it might be a problem with the Odroid not having access to the directory the buffer is stored in, but I gave it the same sharing permissions as the other shared folders.

I've attached my logs, if anyone has an idea of what else to try, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

  Update EPG Schedule?
Posted by: bawitdaba - 2017-07-06, 03:09 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am using EPGCollector to grab OTA EPG data into an XMLTV format, and this works good for me an has the great bonus of actually being free.

I have 1 major issue though, this OTA data only grabs anywhere from 3 to 6 hours worth of data. I can schedule the XML file to be updated 4 times a day, but it seems NextPVR will only load this XML file once a day?

Is there anyway to get NextPVR to load XMLTV data more frequently?
