I just lost a hard drive and had to install everything fresh. I am running Windows 10 v15063 and using a Hauppage HVR 1600. Everything was working great before the drive failed but now I can't get NPVR to work even though everything appears to be set up correctly.
All I get is static from the LiveTV and recordings (it does record just fine) produce nothing but static as well. No combination of renderer/decoders seems to make any difference. It has been ages since I set up NPVR but in the past I believe it "just worked" for me and I don't recall fiddling with anything.
I have no idea where to start. Can someone nudge me in the right direction?
Hello, I have just installed NextPVR and seem to be having an odd issue with audio streams. I am based in the UK and am trying to watch Film4, two audio streams are being broadcast - English (eng) and a descriptive soundtrack (NAR). In the Windows Application, I can chose between the streams and I have found out how I can select (eng) as the default language in the config.xml file. No worries with the Windows App.
However, when playing Film4 in a Web Browser (http://127.0.0.1:8866 - Chrome, IE etc) I only get the descriptive soundtrack (NAR) playing and when you select the settings button, there is nothing other than default as the Audio Stream. As you can imagine, it is not ideal watching TV with the descriptive soundtrack (NAR) so it's not really usable this way. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've got firewall allowed, but npvr server doesn't seem to show up in the firewall logs, but I did have the firewall turned off and still no joy. I'd just upgraded from to 3.9 and beyond.
It works on the machine to localhost, but even on the machine I can't access it via the machine name. Other network things are working (ie shares etc). Has some authentication/network authentication potentially changed/affecting me? Ie the application not the machine is stopping me from accessing?
Because my rules are all only record new, none of the reruns for failed recordings are scheduled. I was thinking of writing a utility do fix this but it might be better to have it as core functionality especially for Schedules Direct users. I envision the process would have two parts,
1. When a recording is marked failed in post processing, check for an upcoming matching unique_id and re-schedule it
2. in the daily scheduling, for all failures check to see if a failed unique_id is available in the guide and not also a "good" recording schedule it
Kodi 17.3 on fire tv not loading NextPVR "an unknown error has occurred". I did however, get the NextPVR to load on my pc that runs kodi 17.3. The same pc that has the NextPVR application on it. But for some reason I get uknown error on all the fire tvs. Any suggestions?
I'm having the same issue that I've seen quite a few people having. Where bulk mapping will not even populate. So I have no option to even apply Schedules Direct to all channels. I have no problem doing it one at a time. But like I said when I tic bulk map I get an error that's states click continue to try to resolve the issue. The bulk map screen comes up but no channels, it's completely blank. Unless I click the merge channels button. Then it populates, but it won't let me add the Schedules Direct to all channels. It will do one at a time but the little pop up that says apply this to all, never pops up. I seen the patch and downloaded it. But I don't know how to install it. Can someone please post complete directions on installing the patch. Sorry if it's a very dumb question. But I'm a very much a noobie.
I am using 2 hdhr primes 6 tuners. In the device tab it sees all the tuners.

I've written the SQL statement below to retrieve programs rows from EPG_EVENT. Essentially, it retrieves unique(DISTINCT) rows having a title starting with "ncis" and a subtitle starting with "b", without regard to time or channel. It returns 6 rows. It returns 18 rows without the DISTINCT keyword and includes duplicates scheduled at different times.
SELECT DISTINCT title, subtitle FROM EPG_EVENT WHERE title LIKE "ncis%" AND subtitle LIKE "b%"
How can I tell NextPVR to find these same distinct rows and schedule the programs returned? How do I get NextPVR to do this at each EPG download?
I'm trying to look for something for when I don't have access to the reocrding id (ie after reading the recording xml file.)

I'm about to embark on a journey to cut the cable company. So I'm going to build a dedicated PC to run NextPVR and Kodi and need some advice on what hardware is most important for a good experience.
These are the uses I plan for it:
- NextPVR server
- Schedule recordings
- Connected to an internal digital antenna to get over the air digital cable (about 150 channels)
- Plan to connect to a dual tv tuner
- Watch shows recorded from NextPVR, Hulu, Netflix, etc...and others on network sites
These are the specs I'm thinking:
- Small form factor to fit the media center cabinet
- 16 GB RAM
- Intel i5 proc
- Decent to high-end video card
- Hauppauge USB dual tuner (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_dualhd.html)
- Store recordings to external USB 3 drive
- Connected to the router via cable
What do you guys think? From what I understand, the video card and disk drive is the most important. Should I get a high end card or will that hit the point of diminishing returns? Disk space is cheap unless I need solid state. Do I need solid state?
I think heat and power consumption should also be a consideration of mine.
I'd like to build something that wouldn't need any upgrades for at least 3 years.

i have a win7 pc set up with npvr, my media and a common mysql library for my kodi boxes, as i work full time and spend maybe a few hours a day watching stuff through kodi i decided i would have this go to sleep when not in use to save on the bills. iv been playing with 'wake on lan' to wake up this pc when kodi needs it. this has been giving me all sorts of problems.
It appears that something the npvr add on is doing is causing me problems. if i turn off the npvr addon in kodi, i can reliably let the computer go to sleep and the wol kicks in and fires up the pc as it should. but it seems like the add on is trying to connect to the sleeping computer without waking it which cause kodi to try and read the mysql database without waking up the computer and after 5 unsuccessful attempts at reading this database kodi then stops trying to read the database until i reboot kodi.
