  Live TV freezing
Posted by: shuhdonk - 2017-04-04, 03:57 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hey all, I have been using NextPVR for about a year now and love it.. but I have a new issue that has popped up recently. I will be watching live tv and within 30 seconds to 5 minutes it will just freeze. If I am within NextPVR watching TV I can right click and stop and it will go back to the menu, but in kodi it generally means I need to end task to kill kodi. This happens in NextPVR and in Kodi, so I don't think its a Kodi issue. I can watch live tv with no problems using the HDHomeRun View app so I don't think its a tuner problem either.

thanks for any help

  LibreElec & X-NEWA
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2017-04-04, 12:54 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (2)

X-NEWA on LibreElec runs well on my Celeron Nettop PC. It also runs well on my RPi2 apart from an irritating problem with "Skip" where about 1 in 3 presses of ">" on the remote the time bar jumps forward then back then the system locks up for about 10 seconds. However if the same file is played in Kodi "Skip" works as it should.

I was just about to post details of the problem when I remembered that about six months ago a totally different problem on another Nettop PC client disappeared after a clean install of LibreElec and X-NEWA. After a clean install "Skip" now works correctly on the RPi2 client! Its impossible to identify what caused the problem but in recent months there have been numerous updates to both LibreElec and X-NEWA any of which may have caused the problem.

So a reinstall could be worth considering as a quick way to eliminate the cause of some problems!

New machine - A100 works, A110 does not
Posted by: roy - 2017-04-03, 01:21 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I just built a new machine. Old machine ran Win 7, new one is Win10. Moved everything over, copied configurations over, modified npvr.cgi and index.htm with the new machine name and ip, shared the mvpmc folder. Opened the firewall. The A100 started right up. The A110 boots, loads the share, loads the index.htm, trys to load but goes to black screen then it reboots, and repeat.

Funny thing is, while I was building the new machine, the A110 would connect to the new machine before I put the new share on it. Now that I want it to, it won't.

mvp.log is attached if it's any help. Any advice, or do you need more info?

Thanks

  Assigning a schedule provider
Posted by: csadoian - 2017-04-02, 11:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

I am using NextPVR v3.9.2, running under Windows 7 Professional. My NextPVR system uses a SiliconDust HD Homerun PRIME 3 tuner cable device and a Silicondust HDHomeRun Connect 2 tuner OTA device. My cable provider is Comcast.

The national network Heroes & Icons (http://www.heroesandiconstv.com) decided to change their schedule, effective March 31, 2017. I can only receive the H&I network OTA, on channel 7.3. When I set up my channels in NextPVR I specified Schedules Direct as my provider and defined two lineups. One is OTA for 93618 (near Fresno) and the other is Comcast Digital. When I initially set up all my channels I set all my OTA channels to use Schedules Direct and the OTA lineup. What I didn't notice at the time was that NextPVR appeared to ignore what I wanted and assigned Comcast as the lineup for several of my OTA channels. It did this for OTA channels that were also carried by Comcast. For channels not carried by Comcast it left my original assignment of the OTA lineup alone. Comcast does not offer the sub channels 7.2 and 7.2 in my area, but apparently in other nearby areas (possibly Fresno) they DO. So the secondary channels 7.2 and 7.3 appear in the lineup as channels 190 and 191. Because they are in the lineup, NextPVR insists on using them, no matter what I do, short of actually deleting the Comcast lineup from NextPVR.

In the past this hasn't caused me any problems with my listings, except that when H&I made the change on March 31st Comcast is still using the OLD schedule.

I contacted Schedules Direct and they are looking into the problem, but apparently the OTA listing is ok, just Comcast is wrong. If I could change NextPVR to use the OTA lineup I could work around the problem until the Comcast problem is fixed, but I would like to know if this behavior by NextPVR is by design or a bug. I would think that if I set the lineup to be the OTA lineup NextPVR should not change it arbitrarily, it should accept my change, or at least warn me that it's not going to allow the change.

Thanks,

Chuck

Wider view of program timeslots in web view
Posted by: APJ - 2017-04-02, 03:57 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi,
Just installed .. looks good!
Notice in web view, TV Guide, it only displays like 6 half hour columns of programs.. the rest of the screen to the right is black.
You can scroll across to other timeslots but any reason the screen can't be altered to allow display of say 12 or 15 30 min columns?
just easier to see it all with the least scrolling necessary..

let me know if this is already do-able.. and I'm just missing something..

also
not a biggie.. but would be nice to include a slim yellow? line down the program list, indicating current time (updates with each page refresh)
just gives a quick visual bearing as to where you're at when scrolling...

also-also..
same screen.. the Date tab to the top left.. has got the 'down arrow' fine.. pick from the list..
Would be neat if you added a left and right arrow that simply updated with the next day on click.. just for quicker navigation..

Any way of removing the BIG 'TV Guide' (and 'see whats on....') label ?.. it's highlighted in the top selection bar already, just to give more vertical room to display more channels without scrolling.

Like I said.. just installed last night and pleasantly surprised at how well it mated with the 2 x Dvico Express tuners, sync'd channels and setup..
You have done a fantastic job..
looking forwards to discovering and playing with all it's features.
thanks
AJ

Possible to add option to stop and start new stream on channel change for PVR addon?
Posted by: lolento - 2017-04-01, 11:04 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (7)

This is an Android problem.

I'm using Shield TV. It is reported by many in the Kodi forum that Android has a problem with continuing hardware decoding when changing channels. So video begings to stutter after channel change.

It is possible to add an option to the add9n configuration to stop and restart the stream on channel change?

Running NPVR 3.9.2 - scanned for channels - lost almost all menu items in NPVR
Posted by: tundrwd - 2017-04-01, 05:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

NPVR has been running fine for quite some time. There are new OTA channels available, so I ran a scan for those channels, added them, etc.

Now, when NPVR is loaded, all I see for the menu is "Live TV/DVD/Exit". Nothing else. No Guide, Recordings, etc. Have stopped restarted recording service, rebooted, etc. - still same results - nothing but 3 items on the menu.

Sometimes when I'm watching TV I hear a lot of hiss from the hard drive. I was wondering if NextPVR could add support for Dolby noise reduction?

Microsoft decoder not working for MPEG2
Posted by: MarkyP - 2017-03-31, 04:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (30)

sub Wrote:As mentioned by Martin above, Microsoft have now released KB4015438 which resolved this problem.

Hello!

I have that KB already installed and I'm getting the MS Decoder no longer works with MPEG-2 message on SD channels... HD channels are OK!

Any ideas?
