Hi, I think I might have posted something similar several months ago but was unable to resolve it then and following a complete clean win10 B1607 install and npvr 3.9.2 I've landed back at the beginning.

All the media folders are correctly there but when you click to select folder to view the individual files nothing ever shows, just goes back to the route folder?

It is not a permission or security problem but it's a problem that escapes me completely!
The folder location reside on second local drive HD2 plus I only use Firefox.

Most of all the media was created after install, so there is not a need to import anything to anywhere because it is there but I can't see it.

Npvr works well, just waiting for sub to tweak the ability to stream to two clients at once.

Hi all, first post here!

I was a long-term user of Windows MCE until I started having multiple problems with it and bought a Freesat box a couple of years ago because it "just works".

To cut a long story short, and without boring people with my reasons, I would like to return to a PC-based Live TV solution.

I've managed to scan in all the channels at 28.2°, but this results in multiple regional channels for BBC, ITV etc. It is not immediately obvious which of these is the correct one for my region. In order to clean things up, I can cross-reference the SID on KingOfSat (http://en.kingofsat.net/pack-freesat.php) and delete the unrequired channels from the "Digital Device Setup" screen (as this seems to be the only place where the SID is listed).

However, this is quite a laborious and time-consuming process, and I'm wondering whether anybody can advise on a less laborious way of making my NextPVR installation more "Freesat-like". I know my way around programming languages and scripting languages, so am not too afraid to roll my sleeves up, but I wouldn't want to re-invent the wheel. I see that there is an XML file in the top-level NPVR directory as well as a SQLite file (which I've not attempted to open). Are these the key to somehow automating the process?

What would be ideal, would be to have a "Freesat mode" where you can select a region and only the relevant channels are set up - essentially for it to operate just like a Freesat STB! Of course, that is easy to say, but would represent a great deal of work to implement!

I am trying to set-up IPTV channels streamed from DVBViewer on my localhost the reason being hardware compatibility with a S2 tuner with CAM/CI.

For WAF purposes, is there a way to show artwork for grouped episodes in Recordings?
Right now, it shows just the generic folder icon (or whatever the skin's generic icon is).

When I enter each group, it shows the same artwork for each show. That's fine, but it's relatively unimportant there.
I... err... my wife would like the artwork on the group/folder page so that I can visually differentiate between shows.

For WAF reasons, I need to get the Live TV Recordings to be close to what WMC format was. Right now, I'm concerned with how episodes are titled and where it's getting the information. "Title" is showing up as "S00E00 - Episode Name". I'd like it just to show as "Episode Name".
Possible? If so, what do I need to edit?
I'm using (obviously?) NextPVR, SchedulesDirect, and Kodi-Jarvis

Just realised i had not been testing with the latest version which is much better than what i had tried.

When it comes to playback is there a difference between playing from the webclient section and the native guide section of xnewa or do both use the same settings.

To get time shift working should selecting the timeshift playback option and using path substitution pointing to recording share be it?

To use the vlc settings is it vlc on the nextpvr host that is used?

When playing back after a few seconds it buffers for a few seconds, is this normal or is there something i can do to stop it. Reason i ask is the pvr addon doesnt and its gig cable connected.

The pvr addon doesnt always seem to stop correctly and i run out of tuners which xnewa doesnt do.

I'm in the UK using Schedules Direct as main EPG source. I've noticed this morning that I have no data beyond next weekend, although usually I get two weeks' data. I have checked SD website and my subscription is OK and they are not reporting any problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something more significant going on?

I'm getting a bit worried as I'm on holiday after next weekend, and if there's a real issue it's going to be a minor disaster for me....

I have the following questions about NextPVR's tuner management system, which I wish I could have more control over:

Why can't NextPVR automatically record back-to-back shows on the same channel using the same tuner?

Why does NextPVR neglect available tuners and instead record shows on different channels on the same tuner, even when there's an available tuner right freaking there that it doesn't seem to notice?

You know, on the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime, this basically screws up the previous show if it had post-padding, rendering it completely unplayable by NextPVR and its Kodi client. This makes me very Very VERY Angry, especially for one time only specials and shows that air episodes only once and never again. :mad:

Why can't I have direct access to this asinine hidden "priority" system that it uses to basically play roulette with the tuners? When it plays roulette with the tuners, it's playing Russian roulette with my recordings. I want to at least be able to manually set it to so that it does record back-to-back on the same tuner and doesn't screw up shows and render them unplayable or cut off their endings that post-padding is needed to compensate for.

I'm sorry, but I'm just disgusted at this point at how poorly coded the tuner management system is. I don't want to hear excuses about the complexities of the padding system if it's just going to ignore that padding altogether, screwing up recordings in the process out of its own stupidity.

I can't believe that a global level system can't be put in place that could simply check what channels tuners are currently locked on to in order to ensure that back-to-back shows are recorded on the same tuner, and check to make sure there are tuners available before recording different channels on the same tuner and ruining recordings in the process.

At the very least, I want to be able to manually set the "priorities" that are responsible for the moronic behavior of the system so that I can at least mitigate some of its destruction of my recordings.

I don't want to constantly babysit the system every hour and be ready to rapidly remove post-padding from recordings to prevent them from being FUBARed because another show on a different channel starts recording before the previous one finishes recording.
I don't want to have to sit for hours cancelling and resetting scheduled recordings in different combinations in order to get their hidden "priorities" right to make sure that back-to-back recordings record on the same tuner.

I am really sick and tired of this sorry excuse for a tuner management system and I'm willing to bet good money that if I had access to the code behind it, I could rewrite that code to work better than it does now. Since I don't have access to this code, all I can do is appeal to the people who do have access to at least make an attempt to code it better, because I hate seeing my recordings ruined by its absolutely idiotic behavior.

While tracking down an unrelated problem in Resource Monitor, I noticed that web.log is being written to continuously. On inspection, I realized it is rolling over about every 1:20 hrs. It just seems to be processing all files in my npvr recorded directory over and over.

Is this normal?

1st - apologies. I just realized I posted something similar to this yesterday without logs and some of the specifics. Sub responded and gave me an overview of how the "wakeup" process should work. Thank you for that.

I'd appreciate any additional thoughts or suggestions if what I have posted below adds any useful info for figuring out why my box isn't waking. I'm hoping it is not the ACPI situation Sub noted in my other post and that this is something that can be fixed. The box is definitely only going to standby (not shutting down or hibernating) as it lights up quickly at touch of the keyboard or movement of the mouse and the nrecord service is still running.

Hi folks,

I'm struggling here. Initially running npvr on Box A for a long time with no problems. Moved npvr to Box B and ran into challenges, resulting in stripping box B down to bare metal (wiped disk), fresh windows 10 pro 32bit install, fresh HDHomeRun drivers and fresh npvr install.

At this point, I believe everything is working, however the box does not seem to be waking from sleep. If the box is awake, recordings, epg update, etc appear to happen as expected. However, if I'm reading the logs correctly, nothing happens after the box goes to sleep. Recordings get noted as "recording service not running at recording time" and the EPG batch file runs only the next time I sit down and hit a key on the keyboard to wake the box.

In the attached logs, you'll see I sat down and hit the keyboard at about 6:15 this morning. nothing appears in the logs prior to that back to noon or so the previous day. There were recordings scheduled for last evening plus an EPG update for around 2am today. The recordings didn't happen and the EPG update didn't happen until after I woke the box this morning.

I'm also attaching a screen cap of my power settings on this box. If it makes any difference, this is a little nVidia ION based machine.
