Hi. I recently configured an xmltv epg updater using zap2it. Works great but some epg entries show a * right after the program name. I have not been able to find any explanation of what this could mean? Could anyone share the meaning or suggest a page in the manual that might have the answer or link?

I was playing a little bit with NextPVR server and saw in the forum that with command http://x.x.x.x:8866/live?channel=# i can play almost everywhere (vlc, android, smart tv) a live tv channel.
It's important for me because i have problems in my config with NextPVR client, but server works perfectly (using kodi), so I was thinking: what about exposing an .m3u playlist like http://x.x.x.x:8866/playlist/channels (group).m3u, or something similar, containing the nextpvr channles list? This way even from smarttv i could change channels. Tried making a playlist myself full of http://x.x.x.x:8866/live?channel=1, http://x.x.x.x:8866/live?channel=2, etc, and it works flawlessly in vlc and kodi, but doesn't work on my samsung smarttv (plays only the first channel but can't play others).
I think it could be an unexpensive and flexible solution to interface NextPVR server with almost everything in the house.

I'm attaching the logs. This particular video plays in the default windows video player but doesn't play in NPVR.

After the 3.8.3 upgrade I lost the short skip option and I can't figure out how to get it back.

On the hauppauge remote I had skip >| for normal skip , ff >> for fast forward and used right > for short skip. Now skip and right both do normal skip, and ff does whatever the setting is for FF/RW behavior. I've played with the keymapping but can't seem to get it back the way it was.

Did the update change this? Is there someplace that explains these settings? I can't seem to get the FF and SkipFF on different keys.

Good afternoon. My NextPVR stopped working in February. Many on and off attempts to find the reason have been unsuccessful. Any assistance is appreciated.

When I launch the software it acts normal, like it did before it quit working. When I try to tune to live tv it hangs with a black screen and (Not Responding) in the window bar. I've sifted through the logs but nothing indicates to me that the hardware isn't working. I've done fresh installs and the software find all our local OTA channels so I *think* the hardware is fine. I've messed with the decoders and installed LAV but get the same results. Would love to get it working again but I'm kind of stuck. Thank you in advance.

I had a conflict where the only option to resolve it was to cancel one of the recordings. The one I decided to cancel is a PBS show where the same episode is replayed several times, however, NPVR apparently just cancelled the recording of that episode instead of selecting an alternate airing time? I have that series set to record new episodes but shouldn't it select a re-airing when resolving a conflict?

Also, would there be a way to have some kind of conflict warning always visible instead of having to check the "Conflicts" list all the time?

I read the manual and scanned the existing posts and couldn 't find a solution.

I can set Video Decoder to H.264 = Microsoft DTD-DVD Video Decoder, HOWEVER, all I get for MPEG2 Video is "Disabled." When I try to watch a TV station in the Guide (I use an antenna for OTA stations) I get an error message that a MPEG2 decoder needs to be selected. I am using a NVIDIA GeForce FT 730 card connected to my Denon AVR4806 receiver for video via HDMI. How do I set up a MPEG2 decoder? I clicked on "Missing decoders ... download LAV..." but nothing happens. Video renderer is set to EVG - but changing that does not solve the absence of a choice for a MPEG2 video decoder.

Hi Everyone,

I am coming back to NextPVR after a vacation, and working through the rest of my setup. I tried the streaming using NEWA, but see that the defaul resolution of 320x212 is not changing, no matter what I set in the NEWA streaming panel.

Any suggestions where to look? Logs from the streaming session above are below.

Second Q - NEWA performance -- I can see NEWA processing happening in the NRecord process, but when I search the DB over NEWA the CPU taken by NRecord never goes over 25% -- is this by design?
