  SD EPG Issues - Uninstall?
Posted by: macgyver - 2016-11-03, 05:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (36)

I'm not getting SD EPG data since upgrading, error below.
I've seen others had issues since upgrading but not seen this specific error.
Should I go down the uninstall/install/upgrade path that has been suggested or does this seem like something else?
All checks against SD site seem OK to me.

Web client cursor keys stop working
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2016-11-03, 05:07 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (3)

Martin

For some months I have had an occasional problem where the cursor keys stop working while the video is playing so cannot skip. The “Stop” key stops the video and returns you to the menu, not back to "Recordings" but to one of the other menus such as “Conflicts”. The cursor keys or at least the left and right keys seem to have switched to navigating the menu in the background.

FF/RW result in freeze or ending?
Posted by: B-Murda - 2016-11-03, 02:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hi,

So new to this but I tried searching and didn't find too much along these same lines (though I could be blind).

Got an Intel 6700k with 32GB ram running windows.
I have the latest NextPVR installed and latest SAF installed using to record and watch OTA in USA.

If I open a recording in NextPVR directly and try to watch it, plays fine. However if I try to do any skips beyond a minute or so (sometimes even that causes) it will hang and eventually pop up and ask if I want to delete since I've watched till the end.

I found this out because I started using Comskipp and every time it'd get to a commercial to skip it would hang or do the above. NextPVR itself does not freeze, I can right click and hit stop etc. and all is responsive. So I took comskip off which lets me play the recordings so long as I don't attempt to FF/RR anything.

Thoughts on cause?
I am using the integrated graphics but an Intel 530 should be fine for this. I've got much older machine running WMC with an much much worse GPU performance wise hah.

I also don't seem to have this problem in Kodi, FF/RW/Skip works fine in that but honestly for my needs I don't need Kodi and rather just use NextPVR directly/alone without any other software.

I didn't grab logs yet because figure would see if anyone had anything obvious they know or I can try before anyone waste time looking at them.

  Video playback issue
Posted by: jeffesjefe - 2016-11-02, 11:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Using current version NPVRSetup_3_8_3_160929 and supplemental patch to fix deletion of a recording when folder contains more than one entry. (Thanks!)

So, after the latest update the ability to skip or forward through a recording does not work as expected. The recording will play normally until skip button is pressed at which time the video will freeze. Same is true if select any area of timeline with mouse as well. With the debug info on it appears the video counter is advancing to the proper time and continues to count up as normal; only the video and audio is frozen. Press skip once more and the video advances in debug window but video is still frozen on screen. Back button will work to return to the recording menu. Video plays fine in VLC. Unfortunately the problem does not always exhibit itself for all recordings. I've tried all possible decoder options which were confirmed to work in previous versions. Video size is approximately 12 GB.

Any help appreciated.

Logs attached (Logs were cleared and problem reproduced).

  NEWA web interface protocol issues?
Posted by: cmsmithh - 2016-11-02, 03:48 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (2)

I'm pretty new to the Kodi/XBMC scene and recently built a box with all the latest versions of software. Kodi Jarvis running nextPVR 3.8.3

I'm failing in getting the NEWA web-browser interface to open on any browser (IE, Firefox, and Chrome) inside my local network using https://localhost:8866/guide.aspx. The failure indicates the following:

....site uses unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 which isn't considered secure.

I'm pretty sure the issue is on the NEWA end and not the browser because I've tried the above 3 without success. I've also tried to change the port to something that isn't 8866 without success. Port forwarding is also not giving me different results. I believe there isn't an issue with the firewall, but more of a protocol inconsistency between the latest browers and the NEWA web configuration?

Epg No show details on DVB-t
Posted by: stustunz - 2016-11-02, 11:42 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Ok epg collector has been annoying me (was really good for ages but lately been playing up)

I have dvb-t and dvb-s tuners

For dvb-t I was using epg collector for data which was good (now its crap)
dvb-s used the broadcast epg data (works great)

So I switched dvb-t to use dvb-s for epg data.
But now i get random no data on dvb-t ive tried extending the scan
really strange as it gets the data from the same place for both dvb-s and dvb-t but only dvb-s fully populates

Hope you get what I mean

Weird Object Reference Error // Logs Attached
Posted by: rowle1jt - 2016-11-01, 09:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

At times when deleting, or trying to go "back" to the main menu I'm getting an .NET Object Reference error. Started happening about a month ago when I updated to the most recent version (which fixed some web ui issues! Smile)

At first it was not often, we'd reboot and it would go away for a while. Now it seems like it happens more often, and while we've figured out how to get rid of the error with the remote, we can't get back to the main menu with out a reboot.

I made sure to replicate it a number of times and I've zipped and attached the logs.

Thank you!

  APC Index Mismatch
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2016-11-01, 07:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Since I have moved out of cable-tv range I have bought a TBS 5520 DVB-S/S2 USB tuner, downloaded the latest driver for Win-10 Pro 64bit and connected the cable from the dish. So far so good, NextPVR see the tuner, I select THOR-7 satellite in the setup but soon after clicking Scan my computer dies with BSOD 1, APC INDEX MISMATCH This was in a slightly older version of npvr. I noticed some SQL errors in the log so I updated to the newet release of npvr. Now it says that it cannot locate the BDA when I try to scan for channels. Where to go from here?

Conflict between NextPVR Recording to NAS and WinTV8 Cannot
Posted by: bickertn - 2016-11-01, 04:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

I checked threads in Support and Hardware and was surprised I couldn't find a solution to the following.
PS: I also re-read the advisory about attaching logs (which I will try to follow), however, I can't find a "Go Advanced button" to push so I'll wing it.

Up through finding and watching OTA broadcast TV channels, NextPVR and my Hauppauge DualHD tuner were working together quite well. I set up my recordings so they would be saved to my NAS, HOWEVER, when I loaded Hauppauge's WinTV8 it only allowed me to select a destination directory on drive C: of the local computer. After a day of pulling out what little hair I have left trying to find my recorded programs, I got Hauppauge support on the phone and was told that their device cannot write to a network location, only to a directory in the same drive as the program. That answered my question about where my recordings were disappearing to; the good news is that these were only trial recordings to test out the system so I don't care about losing them.

SO, my guess is that I need to add a second destination for recordings that corresponds to the location that was "forced on me" by WinTV8 (only 1TB SSD in my HTPC) and then get them over to the 6TB on my WD EX4100 NAS dedicated to storing HD video programs. I saw a number of threads that I mostly (but not completely) understood about how to avoid problems when adding recording locations and then moving the recordings between locations - so a bit of guidance specific to my circumstances would be most helpful and appreciated. Part of my concern is that when I use file explorer to check out the WinTV8 directory where the recordings were presumably sent, all I seem to find are small supplementary like .jpg's related to the show. No files large enough to be a recording. Further, I'm trying to understand the log files, but the most meaningful information I've been able to extract so far is that the time stamps indicate the recording was either truncated rapidly or never really begun. What should I be looking for? (I'm a motivated "student" and will pursue any leads you send my way)

I managed to attached logs from c:users\public\npvr
Thanks,
Bob
