NextPVR is running flawlessly, but I encountered a strange conflict with Avira
Posted by: tinstaafl - 2016-06-13, 11:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I am running the latest NextPVR on Win7 Pro(x86) using the Hauppague WinTV Dual HD USB.

I have solved this issue, but I decided to post it just for the record in case anyone else experiences this.

A couple of months ago I began to investigate why my computer was mysteriously hanging (total lockup, no access to keyboard, mouse, etc.) and not going back to sleep on occasion. After examining all logs and ruling out the usual suspects, including running memtest for hours on end, I finally decided to rule out the antivirus I had been running.

While auditioning replacements, I decided to tryout other free AV's.

I use Avira on my other computers without any issue, so I thought I would give it a shot here. I have high confidence in this AV. But then, this is where things got weird ...

After I installed Avira and rebooted, everything looked good. The NextPVR services started as expected. Launched the NextPVR GUI, and looked in settings. The WinTV tuners were there and ready to go.

Tried launching live TV, and got an on-screen error something like "failed to start Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD ATSC Tuner 2". Tried several more times, same error. I tried excluding all of the NextPVR services and folders in Avira, without improvement. Nothing in Windows Event Viewer could be found related to this event.

Uninstalled Avira and the problem went away. I eventually found another AV solution that worked.

This event occurred back on May 24th, so my main NextPVR logs don't go back that far. However I did find a file in npvr\logs "ndigitalhost-26.log.3.txt" that captured this event:

  No DVB-T2 scanning
Posted by: bounguine - 2016-06-13, 08:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

Hi!

Just tried NextPVR and found out that not all my tuners can scan channels.
I attached logs of unsuccessful scanning by MyGica T230.
Where can be the problem?
In MediaPortal the tuner works perfectly.

some recordings stopping after very short period of time
Posted by: edavis6678 - 2016-06-13, 07:28 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi All

Wondering if anyone can help. I've searched around and did see a very old post about people having recordings stop short if they were back to back, but I'd imagine that would be fixed by now. The problem I'm having is that some of the recordings i have stop short. I have attached my log files if someone has some cycles to take a look.

here is a sample of the recording in question...(found in NRecord.log)

any ideas?

Why does blaster.exe only get called for channel CHANGES? Same channel, not called.
Posted by: cmoswizard - 2016-06-13, 02:08 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I have combed through the NRecord logs and I'm pretty sure the blaster never gets called unless it is a new channel number. This would make sense if the set top box was never used manually but that is not the case here. If I change my Directv box to another channel directly then the next recording will be of the wrong channel unless the new recording channel happens to be different from the last recording.
Why conserve blaster calls? This almost has to be intentional. Is there a setting?

Thanks

GraphStudioNext won't connect to NextPVR Graph

I'm trying to have GraphStudioNext open the graph created by NextPVR during playback and Live TV. I get an error:

I thought I ran across a solution posted by sub but I cannot find it.

Is there a solution?

Thanks.

NEXTPVR with DD Octopus NET V2 A8 Max (DVB-C/C2/T/T2)
Posted by: arminb - 2016-06-12, 03:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hello,

I use NEXT-PVR since years, since it was known as GBPVR. I always use it with internal or USB tuner/receiver. Now i have a DD Octopus NET DVB-C/C2/T2 Box and i use it with DVB-C. My Cable Provider is Untimedia in Germany.

The tuner/receiver is shown in the device list (TYP SAT>IP) but since now i am not able to find some channels. In the Device Dialog i can't find any Configuration for DVB-C only DVB-S, i think.

Is it possible to get this device work with NEXTPVR?

Thanks for every hint.

Help w/ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner (USB) w/ CableCARD
Posted by: mjlaris - 2016-06-11, 05:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have been using and ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner (USB) for several years with Windows Media Center and it has worked fine. However, Microsoft is eliminating Windows Media Center with Windows 10. I just recently found NextPVR and downloaded and installed it. However, the ATI device is not found when a scan is run. All I get is a IPTV device. I am currently still running Windows 8.1 (don't want to upgrade until I can find a replacement for media center). Does NextPVR not work with the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner (USB) or is there something special I need to do? And advice would be helpful. I have attached my log file.

  LibreElec - New Kodi Client
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2016-06-11, 12:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I use Kodi running on RasP PI's as a client for my NPVR setup. I settled on the OpenELEC distribution of Kodi/RaspPi because of ease of use for building out RaspPi images and setup. I've recently learned that the core OpenELEC developers have forked off and created a new distribution called LibreELEC due to "creative differences" with the OpenELEC team.

Has anyone tried out LibreELEC? Anything different or of note to be aware of before making the switch?

  Recording suddenly stopped working
Posted by: tcihil - 2016-06-10, 08:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hello,

NPVR was humming along, recording shows daily. Then, suddenly nothing scheduled gets recorded. I've tried numerous tweaks over several days but still no scheduled recordings work.

I saw the log entry that Wakeup.bat was missing, which looked correct. I found a file on the web and placed it under Scripts, but still no good.

Any help, please?

Log files are attached.

Thanks,
Tom...

  Scan for New Media
Posted by: RBraverman - 2016-06-09, 12:00 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

If I add media, with or usually without metadata, how do I have the program scan the folders to locate and list new media?

If there's an thread about this, point me there. I searched for scan new media, new media etc., and everything I got was regarding channels.
