  New Skin
Posted by: jstplace - 2016-06-01, 02:02 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (7)

I'm a big fan of NextPVR and I created my first skin yesterday. I would be happy to share it with the group, but I haven't see anyone else posting them, and the skin page on the wiki hasn't changed in years. What's the best way to do this? Should I just zip my skin folder and post to this forum?

A few screenshots attached.

  Channel changer executable
Posted by: jwnextpvr - 2016-05-31, 09:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I'm trying to setup NextPVR but cannot get the channel to change.

I'm running Windows 10 (64) and using a Hauppauge 1800 capture card and have a Motorola set top box.

I have mapped some channels through Schedules Direct and I do have guide info.

I found a utility called uutx.exe that works from the command line to change the channel on the STB.

Under Settings - Devices I select the Hauppauge card and then Device Setup.

In the Executable box I enter the path to uutx.exe and in the Arguments box I enter the same arguments that I use successfully from a command prompt.

When I select a channel no attempt is made to change the channel in the STB.

So, from the command line it works but not from NPVR. What can I try?

Anyone with any STB that uses the Executable/Arguments I would appreciate seeing what you use for those entries.

Thanks

John

Can't get live stream to work
Posted by: tripkip - 2016-05-31, 08:06 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

I have set the correct path in the config: C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC

Yet when I click "Stream now" from the tv guide the only thing I get is this error:

[object Object]
error
Internal Server Error

Is this a known issue? Where can I look for more clues about what's actually going on here?

  Noob Trying to Understanding This
Posted by: FangerZero - 2016-05-31, 03:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have a Ceton InfiniTV 6 ETH, I know how to sort of set it up with WMC. It works but it slow, and laggy. I wanted to see if nPVR had the same issues but unfortunately I can't get it to do anything. I have it all set up with channels, each tuner, but live TV just gives a black screen, and sort of lags out. The temp file that is created, no data is in it. Recordings seem to do nothing either. I don't know if it's the fact that I am using windows 7, or what. As I stated I'm a noob at this trying to understand what I did wrong.
My codecs are some sort of windows codecs. And nPVR plays WMC recordings just fine with those windows codecs which I would think is expected. I will try to get more information if needed, I may also need help with understanding how to get more information.

(no show details) - UpdateEPG not pulling correct data?
Posted by: andyjoyb - 2016-05-31, 12:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Howdy,

I'm trying to pull schedule details for like 10 channels for the next 15 days, and I'm on the struggle bus. My update EPG bat file was working for a while, but it mysteriously stopped. I don't recall changing anything, but it's borked.

I thought I had my UpdateEPG.bat file set up correctly but I'm starting to suspect that maybe I don't.

The epg file I pull does appear to populate correctly with show data, but NextPVR isn't seeing it or showing it on the schedule

Presently, every channel pulls (no show details) for every time slot on every channel.

I have attached my log files. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  Installing Plugins?
Posted by: REALOldNick - 2016-05-30, 12:04 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Sorry. Back again. I downloaded a couple of plugins. I have read around the place, but all I have found is the plugin manager. I get that, but how do I make my new plugins appear in that manager?

Thanks for any help

Nick

  Getting out of full screen
Posted by: REALOldNick - 2016-05-29, 11:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

If I ask for full screen, I can find no way to resize it again to allow for checking other stuff. I can exit the NextPVR programme altogether, but it would be better to still hear what is going on as I check out other stuff.

EDIT: A really important one here AFAICS is that I cannot alter the system volume without exiting the NextPVR programme.

Thanks

Getting back from the black boxes?
Posted by: REALOldNick - 2016-05-29, 11:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I refer to such BB's as the conflict resolve dialogue from the Recordings Conflict screen, or from the TV Guide if you try to record a conflicting programme, where there is no Close option if I am working with a mouse. I can use a keyboard and Esc, but I would prefer to have only a mouse at my viewing location.

Thanks

Nick

  mysteriously loosing settings
Posted by: snagglewest - 2016-05-29, 05:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

This is a bit weird, over the last couple months Npvr has lost the settings for the recording directory, decoders, live tv buffer directory and the plug in directory settings twice.

It happened again last night though I'm not sure exactly when. I noticed it about 10pm when I tried to tune to a TV channel using a kodi box in the bedroom (raspberry Pi2) and got a lock up trying to tune to the channel. A check of Npvr showed a error along the lines of "no live tv buffer folder doesn't exist" (sorry don't recall the exact verbiage). A quick check of the settings found the live TV buffer directory has mysteriously changed back to the C drive from D:/buffer where it normally is. Fixed that then live TV was a black screen though had audio. Checking the decoders found almost all of them set to "disabled". Fixed that and then found all the plug-ins where checked. I normally only have TV Guide, Recordings, Live TV and exit checked.

As I said, I'm not sure exactly when it started but I had a recording which ended about 5:30pm which was fine and found the settings changed about 10:30pm. Anyone have any ideas about whats going on?

Need help w/npvr and kodi viewing ota channels
Posted by: mikec - 2016-05-28, 03:57 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hi, I'm new to HTPC and need some help. My setup is a dedicated desktop pc running windows 10. Hauppauge wintv dual USB tuner, NPVR playing through kodi. When i view the ota channels through the wintv program without kodi, theres no problem viewing, but when viewed through kodi theres severe pixilation and stuttering on all the channels. I've tried changing the decoders without any improvements. What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.
