Hi All,
I am in need of some help, and, I figured that a good place to start would be here. I will try to keep this as short and as âto the pointâ that I can.
I just recently purchased a Happauge 1200 PVR for my windows machine (see my windows specs at the end of this post).
Before continuing, the only reason I have this unit is to schedule TV programs to record (by using the included IR Blaster and software called âWinTV schedulerâ to change channels on my DirectTV box).
The device records incredibly well, but, the software that comes with this thing leaves little to be desired.
For example, if I schedule a program from 9:00am to 10:00am, and, the next program should start at 10:00am, it never does. It will also sometimes randomly just say that the device is in use and cannot record, and, last, but not least, the scheduler relies on Titan TV. NEVER in my life have I experienced something as awful as Titan TV. By the time the web page loads, I am ready to gouge my eyes out. Also, when the included software saves my recordings out, it doesnât give me an option to set the parameters of the name. (For example, the show name, the show title, the date,..etcâ¦etc..)
So, all in all, the hardware is good, but, the software sucksâ¦â¦â¦â¦..badâ¦â¦â¦
I have been googling about different software now for days. There are 3 pieces of software that I found. 1 is SageTV and the other is MythTV and one more called Next PVR.
Sage TV seems to no longer exist? When I go to their website I just see a write up about it, but, no links or downloads. I did manage to find some downloads for Sage, but, there are a number of links. Links for a server, links for a client,â¦.etcâ¦.etc⦠So, one of my questions here, is, will SageTV be way more than I am looking for ?
MythTV appears to be for Linux only, and, I didnât really start reading too much into the NextPVR software, which brings me here.
I just kinda need some help here. Will NextPVR do what I want without having to use this GOD AWFUL WinTV scheduler with TitanTV?
I had a MAC at one time, and, their EyeTV software was PERFECT for what I want to do. But, it is for MAC only. :/
My setup:
Windows 7 Home Permium 64 bit, i5 processor, 16GB ram, 500gb SSD
After the last update the description only displays a few characters like "Ameri..." as in American movie bla bla.
I am using DVBGuide to extract the EPG data from the broadcast. Looking at the resulting XML-files the description data seem ok.
Is there a setting I haven't found or is there a bug somewhere?
I just got around to upgrading to the latest version of nextpvr. Everything works great except the trailers plugin. I tried downloading to latest version of trailers and still nothing. I need to get a screen grab of the errors so i can be more accurate but the first issue say something about a missing hexadecimal character. Then once i clear that i get that i cannot access the apple thing because it is already in use. Im sure its simple, well i hope at least.
I installed NextPVR, it reconized mu TV-card and scanned my channels.
To view, i read the suggestion to install MPEG2 decoders, so i installed Cyberlink 11 and the recommended SAF codecs pack.
But again, even after a restart en reinstall, in settings a can only choose the LAV video decoder (which crashed) and the PDR MPEG muxer (which give a blank screen).
So i know i have to install extra decoders. I have done that, but i can't select them.
What do i wrong?
I've had a cursory search and didn't find an answer, but forgive me if I missed something obvious!
I'm trying to set up some timed recurring recordings, and don't appear to have the ability to set a directory for them. I have directories configured, and when I press Record from the EPG it shows me them; but in the man-rec window the option isn't there. Is this by design, or have I missed a feature I can enable?
New user of NextPVR. When trying to scan for channels I could not find all my channels. After a bit of research I found out that the wrong frequency was being searched, 571500 instead of 184500.
Any Australians in Sydney trying to find SBS channels do the following
The frequency search for the Sydney Australia(file = NPVR/Tuning/DVB-T/Australia - Sydney.ini) is this:
i'm trying to record Live TV on Kodi with NextPVR. When i start the recording i get the first error "an unexpected error occurred. Try again later or check the log for more information", then i click OK and i get the second message "Can't start recording..." (first image).
I'm using IPTV device (second image) without a TV tuner.
I use NextPVR mainly for a recorder and to serve up live TV thru various Kodi appliances (several Raspberry Pi2 w/OSMC, a Linux box with Ubuntu 14.04 and several laptops with Win 8 & 10)
Over the last week or so I've had several occasions when I tuned a channel only to have the wrong channel come up. It's happened on both the Raspberry Pi2's and most recently on the Linux box about 30 min ago. The most recent time was about 7pm when trying to tune channel 1101 which is SCI-HD. I didn't catch exactly which channel actually tuned but I know it wasn't a close by channel so it wasn't a case of clicking 1 up or 1 down by accident. I don't recall which ones where the other times but I'll try and keep closer track next time it happens.
The only thing that's changed in the last few weeks was adding a second HDHR Prime but that's been 3 weeks or so and this problem started in the last week or so.
