I must be doing something very basically wrong. Been upgrading for years, since early GPVR iin the early noughties. Never had a problem before. But on going to 3_5_7 I keep getting the message 'digital chgannels not setup' I did a clean re-install but still got the same message. Attached are all the logs since the re-install. Please tell me what has gone wrong. The system seems to fiind all the channels perfectly OK, but still I get this message, and nothing on the TV guide
Hello,
I'm trying Nextpvr (for Kodi) on an old all-in-one pc with Win Vista and with an integrated decoder, but it doesn't seem to work correctly.
I've configured the device, scanned and found many channels, installed DirectShow codecs, but.. the TvGuide stays empty (no info) and the LiveTv only shows a black screen.
The pc also has Media center installed, and that program works instead (but I'd like to use Kodi).
What could be the problem?
EDIT: wait, I'm getting an error directly inside the config about an invalid TimeSpan string.. O_o
Also, the NPVR Recording System fails to start! WTF
I'm in a same situation as user raven was few years ago: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ith-mdapi/
I would like to set up a card server to decrypt about 4-5 HD channels. I have a valid subscription on this channels and a card. I live in Finland and we use Conax as our decrypting method. These channels do not require pairing so they should be ok in a card server?
I have talked with Reddwarf and he explained that I should use Phoenix card reader. I see that some people use Omnikey-ones, what's the difference between those?
The hardware I'm planning to use is probably Digital Devices DVB-C (4) tuners or a HDHomerun Expand.
Basically I would like to be able to record atleast three of those encrypted HD-channels at the same time or mix of unencrypted and encrypted content.
Raven made a guide here in the forums and it helped me little bit to understand the basics, but I'm still confused
I would appreciate very much if someone were to help me understand this better.
Getting a full EPG and managing around this is a real challenge for me in NPVR. Something my wife really just does not understand and I was looking to resolve it a bit.
I decided as the Freesat(UK) and DVB options were now pretty mature I would move away from my epgCollector based XML file and just use these. What I have found though is they are not massively consistent.
DVB channels mapped perfectly the first time I did this and I thought I had them cracked at least, however gradually they have dropped off and I now have mostly "no show details" something that really gets my wife's goat ;-) I tried doing a rescan but no dice. Feels like the scan is not being initiated. I will say currently I am still running the EPGCollector bat as part of the updateepg.bat. I have something in one of those bats (can't remember which) that reboots the box following the epgupdate as this keeps it working better. Could this be causing some form of challenge.
As for freesat(UK) again many no show details, though this time I suspect that they don't actually exist in the epg data. Channels like Phoenix scan in the Freesat only scan but don't necessarily have lined up epg I suspect. Is there anyway to find out what channels should have epg but don't?
Really what I'd like is to be able to have an idiot mode that scans DVB-T and Freesat and ensures a fully populated EPG with one version of each channel. It would be great if that would regularly automatically upgrade when channels change.
Any help that you can offer would be good.
Trevor
BTW is the bulk map still broken. If I map with that it just sets every channel to none and I get a totaly blank epg. The only way I can change the epg source is to go down every channel in the list double click and change the source. For 200 channels that gets tedious.... ;-)
Had Windows 10 installed but rolled back to 7.
Needed to reinstall HD PVR drivers and software.
Installed latest version of NPVR.
Everything working ok with Total Media.
NPVR changes channels ok on my STB, but doesn't turn HD PVR on (blue light on top of box not lit).
thanks in advance
ok, so I am looking at getting cable but buidling my own whole house DVR. Spouse is all for cable as we have had 2+ years of OTA but she won't approve of the DIY whole house DVR, I refuse to pay cable company $30 month for equipment lease. Biggest complaint with spouse is not 100% foolproof like a cable system would be. I admit my htpc has been down quite a bit in the last few months... upgrading to windows 10 was the biggest mistake I made...
So my question is:
a) How did you get your spouse to approve
b) how did you setup your system to be as reliable as can be (shooting for 99.99% reliable)
c) what did you use for equipment?
d) what is the best software (kodi, npvr,etc...) to use as the frontend?
I know it is a loaded question but just looking for thoughts...
I currently run an HDHR Dual with a PC that runs NPVR backend. I have a wdmycloud for nas. running windows 8.1 on current "server" pc...
With the current version of ffmpeg (2.8), play time transcoding of both recordings and live TV seems to work pretty well. However, using the ffmpeg filter effectively stops you from using seek within a recording. One way around this would be to restart the stream using the -ss argument to ffmpeg to jump directly to the required place in the stream. I've tested it by modifying <TranscodeArgs> in config.xml and it works very nicely, but for it to be useful, it would need to be able to be set on the fly. Currently the /transcode stream request passes a number of on the fly aguments (source, resolution, bitrate etc). It would be really nice if there were a couple of user arguments that could be used to replace [USERARG] place holders in config.xml.
I have decoders installed on my machine (Divx) But when I go to NextPVR Settings, they do not appear in the drop downs.
Also when I hit the ... (three dots) next to Video Decoder MPEG2 nothing happens
I am therefore unable to setup video decoders?
Any idea how to fix this
I am running Windows 10.
And Next PVR version 3.5.7
I'm running NextPVR 3.5.7 on a Windows 8.1 machine with Kodi Gotham. Still using Gotham due to "features" with the Helix and Issy builds. Using HDhomerun (ant) and HDprime (Comcast cable) for my TV recordings. Using Flirc with my mx-500 remote control, so I am sending keystrokes.
What I am trying to do is have the same keystrokes work in NextPVR that work in Kodi. So I have modified the keymappings.xml file, but I can't get the "." (period) or "'" (single quote) to work for the Skipforward or Skipback. It does nothing.
Also, how about the arrow keys, could those possibly work?
I appreciate any help which might be given.
I am trying to make this as seem-less as possible for me and my wife so we can watch in native NextPVR as well as in Kodi with the same remote setup.
